Chereads / Stolen by flames / Chapter 4 - ~3~

Chapter 4 - ~3~

Prim looked around her, confused. A first she didn't know where she was. It was blanketed in white and all of the buildings...destroyed.

She was in the Astral Plane.

She watched as her breath misted before her. Yes, it seemed Mazereth had returned...But how?

Prim was still in her pajamas, and they did not keep the cold from nipping at her skin. She wrapped her arms around herself and trudged on, further into the ghost town.

The plane looked so odd covered in snow. She was both amazed and terrified.

"Prim!" Someone whispered.

Prim spun around and saw Dolion leaning against the side of a ruined house.

"Dolion!" She cried as she through her arms around him. "I missed you so much" She sighed against his chest.

"Well, believe it or not, this was not how I imagined we would meet again" He chuckled.

"Right!" Prim said lifting her head to peer up at him. Had he gotten taller? Was his hear darker? So much has seemed to changed in such little time.

"It's Mazereth" He sighed. "We think she's back. And more powerful" He said motioning to the village behind them.

"She...Did all of this?"

Dolion nodded. And if we don't stop her, things on earth are going to get really bad"

"Like...How bad?"

"She has the power to end our worlds. But she won't because otherwise what negativity would she have to feed off of? Who would she play with then?"

A shiver raced up Prim's spine as she buried her face against him.

"Your freezing" He said glancing down at her. "Come on, we have clothes and a warm fire burning inside"

Prim's heart began to hammer against her chest. "We"? If Mazereth was back from the dead, could it be that Benjamin is too? Was he inside? Would she have another moment with him after all?

The two of them ducked down into a tiny square house that was more intact then some. But Prim didn't even so much as glance down at the small fire in the fire place. No, her eyes were scanning the room for any sign of her friend...Her brother...

"Welcome home Primrose" Alastar said as he entered the room wiping his dirt stained hands on his jeans.

"Oh..."

Alastar looked at Dolion, then back at Prim. "Is something the matter?"

"No" Prim said sinking down beside the fire.

Dolion draped a wool blanket over her shoulders then handed her a new set of clothes.

"They may not be what your used to. But they'll keep you warm"

Prim held up the shirt and let it unfold it's self, then the pair of jeans, then the coat he had set beside her.

"These are boys clothes" She told him.

"Like I said, not what your used to"

Prim set the clothes down and turned back to the fire.

"Where are we?" She asked.

"You don't recognize?" Alastar joked.

Prim shook her head.

"This is what's left of Seren"

She looked up at him. "Mazereth did this?"

He nodded. "At least, that's what we believe"

Prim shook her head. "No, she's...She was dead. We both saw it..." She said to Dolion. She could see the sadness he hid well behind his eyes as she reminded him of that night.

"I thought so" He said. "But-"

"-But what if she still is" She interrupted.

"What?"

"What if Mazereth is really dead? What if this is something else, something more powerful then she was"

"No one holds that much power" Said Alastar.

"Look around you" She sighed. "Everything is buried under snow. Seren is completely destroyed...Since when have you heard stories of Mazereth destroying whole villages?"

"And she's on the move" Alastar said handing Prim a cup of some warm beverage she didn't know.

"What?"

"Our village wasn't the first she had hit" He sighed as he sunk into a red armchair she didn't remember him having last time. "And it won't be the last"

"Then why are we here and not hunting her down?"

"Because Prim, right now the sun is going to set and we don't have any protection against her"

"Why didn't you leave earlier?"

"We had to wait for you"

"We'll find her Prim" Alastar assured her. And we'll defeat whoever is terrorizing our worlds"
