After running several tests with Trinity, having her project her emotions out, and then pulling them back in. Amara was still no closer to figuring out how to help Trinity learn how to control the emotions she was broadcasting. While there were some occasions where she was successfully able to project and reduce it; in the end it proved more to be somewhat random, and wasn't necessarily something she could control fully.
She frowned. Trinity was a human after all, and a human just wasn't created to be able to manipulate divine energy, since they had not been created from it like angels and demons had been. So the only result that she could see as to what might explain everything, was that the overload of energy was too much for her system to handle, and this would all just be temporary.
Although Trinity was proving to be a unique case study that she would love to learn more about, she doubted that this would yield any positive or lasting results. More than likely, Trinity would eventually end up becoming even more broken than humanity was already.
Still, it would be disheartening to watch such a unique specimen that would have held so much potential, fall victim to such misfortune due to the carelessness of her brother. Regardless, she could use this to her advantage, and she planned to take full advantage of this opportunity while it was available to her.
However, she couldn't rule out completely if this was intentional on her brother's behalf, or if it had been an accident. While one result could be an unexpected blessing, the other could potentially be disastrous for herself.
If this had truly been an accidental mishap, then she could figure out what it was that her brother did to cause the surge of energy. She might be able to repeat the process with a different human, under more controlled conditions. Then experiment with creating a new, revised species of human that wasn't as broken as the previous versions have been. She just needed to run enough tests to see if she could recreate and improve upon this imperfect accident.
Trinity might not survive, but she didn't expect her to, not with the amount of energy that her body had been exposed to in the forest. This could just be the first stage of her body breaking down from being overloaded.
However, there was also a secondary option that she strongly had to consider.
Seeing as her brother had returned Trinity back directly after the event in the forest, she couldn't rule out the fact that this could possibly be intentional and he was using her as a hidden weapon. It is quite possible that her brother did this to Trinity deliberately, in his attempts to weaken herself enough to the point that he could finish her off.
If this was the case, then she would have to be extra certain not to get too comfortable around this girl. It might be more logical to err on the side of caution and just dispose of the girl now, before any extra side effects could arise. But then that would defeat the purpose of learning how this mutation occurred in the first place. Let alone, attempting to recreate and tweak this in a new human test subject, created under her own conditions.
Using the size of the football field that they had available to work with, Amara requested that Jessica and Rachael both walk out a different distance apart from the center, where Trinity sat. This way they could test the radius that she was able to project outwards, and if it was continuing to increase in strength and intensity. Or if it would plateau at a certain point.
Trinity made sure to ask that Rachael be the one to remain within the distance of the range she was projecting. While Jessica remained outside of the range and would alert them if any changes were to occur as the mental waves steadily progressed. The reason she requested this was simple. She wanted Rachael to remain aware of exactly just how pissed off she was at her betrayal.
Trinity sat in the center, focusing on her breathing. Although, she was struggling with learning how to keep her mind clear. The more she attempted to empty her mind of all thoughts, the more that her mind wanted to wander. Constantly drifting off in thought.
"Focus!" Amara shouted at Trinity as she circled her once more.
Trinity scowled. "I'm trying." She grumbled back at her. She couldn't tell her that her very presence was distracting her. She was just grateful that she was keeping her emotions under control enough that Amara hadn't recognized this yet.
"Try harder." Amara replied back. "Feel the energy within you. Focus on it and force it to obey you."
"Easier said than done!" Trinity grumbled back at her.
Every time that she began to feel nervous or afraid at Amara's presence nearby, she would quickly redirect those feelings into anger or annoyance. This could easily be translated by Amara to mean that Trinity was annoyed or angry about her failing to control the broadcasting of her emotions.
However, every time it happened, Rachael knew the real reason for it. Each time, Trinity would look directly at her, and Rachael would gulp at the thought of how angry Trinity was at her for calling on Amara.
She knew that Trinity would have preferred that demon to have been the one to help her through this. But Rachael just didn't trust him, like Trinity did. She didn't understand why Trinity felt how she did about Amara.
Amara was here, and she was doing everything she was able to do, to help Trinity. Wasn't she? So why was Trinity still so angry with her? Rachael wished that she could understand, but it just didn't make any sense to her.
