Later that evening, Trinity's hands began to tremble and pain ran throughout her whole body from head to toe. Strangely enough though, the pain was centralized more in her brain. But then again, maybe it shouldn't be that strange after all, considering everything.
Due to Amara's spell surrounding the house, Trinity was now under total house arrest. While the spell was helping to protect the others near her, it also meant that she couldn't leave the house. She only hoped that Jessica and Rachael would be able to find Zyxel in time, and explain to him what was going on. The problem that she wasn't sure about was, would he even come?
Eventually, even her own father was forced to have to leave the house for the sanctuary of the outside world, as the mental pressure that was now emitting from Trinity, was enough to suffocate him mentally. He had apologized profusely for having to leave, but Trinity didn't know how to ease the pressure that her mind was transmitting.
In the end though, Trinity understood his reason why her father had to leave. She didn't want to cause him any more pain. And the only thing that would protect him and everyone else around her right now, was the spell around the house.
Stomach growling with hunger, and her splitting headache refusing to let up, Trinity pulled down a bowl from the cabinet, and poured herself a bowl of cereal to tie her over until dinnertime. It didn't take her long to finish the bowl of cereal, before she was pouring herself a second bowl.
She wasn't sure why she was so hungry. She never ate this much before. Although it did seem that her appetite had increased over these past few days. Still, it never seemed to be enough.
After finishing her second bowl of cereal, she picked up her bowl and walked over to the sink. She was still hungry, but there was no way she would be pouring a third bowl of cereal. Two should have already been plenty. Her stomach growled once more, and the pain in her brain only grew stronger. She wanted to go lay down and rest, hoping that would help.
As she was about to place the bowl inside the sink, the bowl suddenly shattered in her hands.
Her stomach let out yet another loud growl just as a shooting pain shot out from her brain, throughout her whole body. This was unlike any of the prior pains before. This time, her whole body felt like she was being electrocuted, and her brain was the conductor.
She let out a scream. Blinking, she tried to clear her vision, but all she could see were spots. 'What the hell is going on?'
Grabbing her head with both of her hands, she collapsed onto the floor. "I need to get out of here. I need to find Amara!" Right now, she didn't care about angels versus demons. At the moment, Amara was the only one nearby who might be able to help her, and she was running out of time.
She was now regretting not telling Amara everything that she was seeing or experiencing. Maybe if she hadn't hid some of the details, Amara would have been able to figure out what was wrong, and could have helped her better.
Despite Imena's warning, she felt as if Amara's claims were partially biased and wouldn't actually come to pass. Now she felt that she had only made Amara's fears a reality, by not speaking up about it sooner.
Maybe all of this could have been prevented. And if that were the case, with Zyxel currently nowhere to be found, then Amara would be her best bet at helping her right now. She just needed to find her.
She slowly climbed back up to her feet and walked to the front door. Placing her palm around the doorknob, she slowly turned the handle. As the door opened, the waves of her mental broadcasts were pouring outward in all directions.
Everyone who was nearby, dropped to their knees and cradled their head in their hands as screams escaped from their mouths. The sheer pressure of the broadcasts was too much for them to bear.
Trinity stumbled across the lawn, her vision still blurred, and barely being able to focus from the electrocuting pain that she was feeling.
As she entered the back entrance of the church, an intoxicating scent reached her nose. It smelled so sweet and delicious, that it made her mouth water in anticipation. All she knew right now was that she wanted it, yet she didn't even know what it was, let alone where it was coming from.
She looked around as she tried to find where this exquisite scent was originating, but she could not find the source. It didn't seem to be nearby where she was at currently.
She walked towards the stairs, focused only on finding the source. Whatever it was, her mind and her body both were craving it. All she knew was she had to have it.
As she began her ascent up the stairs, the mouthwatering scent only increased. She could literally taste it on the tip of her tongue. It was definitely coming from upstairs somewhere.
Someone reached for her shoulders and grasped her hand tight. As she turned, she could see her father and Stephen. Both of them were grasping at their heads in pain. And both of their lips were moving as if they were attempting to speak with her, but she couldn't make out the words. All that mattered right now was finding that scent. Nothing else was important, and everything else could wait.
Pulling her hand free of her father's grasp, she continued up the stairs. Passing up the second floor, she continued her way up further. She was so close, she could taste it. She licked her lips as hunger overtook her.
Although when she reached the top step of the third floor, another intense pain from her brain electrocuted her once more. She fell to her knees before she fully collapsed onto the floor. Panting and shaking from the intense pain coursing through her. Her body felt so weak right now. Still she knew she had to push through. She was so close.
"Amara," Trinity whispered, barely even able to hear her own voice speaking.
Four strong arms were lifting her up. As she looked to her left and then to her right, she could see her father and Stephen, both on either side of her. They were lifting her up and wrapping one of her arms over each of their shoulders.
In front of her stood Amara, who was pointing, telling them where to take her. She could not pick up Trinity, but the humans could. If Amara could get Trinity into her room, then she could seal her room off with the same spell that she had placed on Father Kiran's house.
Trinity struggled against their pull, thinking they were going to be taking her back home. She fought against them, and struggled to get free. She couldn't go back there. Not after experiencing the intoxicating scent of whatever it was that was drawing her in.
"Let me go!" She screamed in outrage. The blast from her emotional broadcast brought the both of them to their knees, but they refused to lose their grip on Trinity.
Trinity looked at Amara, and before she could think of what she was saying, she spoke two words that she never thought she would ever say to Amara. "Help me!"
" ᓭꖎᒷᒷ!¡ " Amara commanded, and Trinity's body fell limp in both of their arms. The broadcast waves that had been pouring out of Trinity immediately ceased, temporarily.
"It's ok." Amara announced, as she saw the concern in both of the two humans' eyes. "I simply put her mind to sleep for an hour. This will give me plenty of time to set up a barrier inside of my room. Place her on the bed, while I set up the barrier spell."
Father Kiran and Stephen both nodded in confirmation as they both picked Trinity back up once more, carrying her to Amara's room.
Carefully placing her on the bed, her father checked to make sure that Trinity was alright. He was truly scared for his daughter right now. No matter what, she seemed to keep getting pulled into the center of this demon's plans.
Amara stood at one side of the bed. Reaching up, she placed the tips of her fingers on the ceiling, and dragged her hand across, until it met up with the perpendicular wall. Not breaking contact, she traced her hand down the wall, and then began to walk around the room, traveling from each of the four walls. As she reached the starting wall, and was now on the opposite side of the bed, she bent down low, and guided her hand from the wall, down onto the floor.
" ᒲᒷリℸ ̣ ᔑꖎ ʖᔑ∷∷╎ᒷ∷ " she spoke as she set up the barrier spell, linking all six sides of the room so that no mental broadcasts could leave her room now.
Amara looked up at Father Kiran. "I will stay by her side until she wakes, and discover why it is that she left. Everyone will be safe for now. If she causes any trouble, I will simply put her back to sleep again if needed."
"Please Amara, I want to stay here and be here for her when she wakes up." her father declared. "I'm scared what might happen to her, and I need to know that she will be alright."
Amara placed a delicate hand on his shoulder and smiled. "I know you care deeply for your daughter, and I will do everything in my power to save her. But when she wakes up, you cannot be here. It will only cause you more pain. She has not been lost to us yet, so there is still hope. I will find a way to save her."
Father Kiran still didn't want to leave, but he knew that Amara was right. Hesitantly, he lowered his head. "Please look after my daughter. Don't let her die due to his actions. I beg of you!"
Amara nodded. "I promise."
Father Kiran and Stephen both exited the room silently. At the doorway, Stephen looked back at Trinity. A fierce determination to protect her, reflected in his eyes. He watched her as she lay on the bed, until Amara shut the door closed behind him.
"Don't let her die!" he whispered quietly to the empty corridor around him.
Inside the room, Amara filled up a bowl of cold water, and grabbed a washcloth from the sink drawer. Bringing it to the side of her bed, she placed the bowl on the nightstand. Dipping the washcloth into the cold water, she allowed it to soak up the water, before wringing it out as best she could.
She sat down on the bed next to Trinity and placed the washcloth over her forehead. "You poor thing. If I didn't know any better, I could have sworn that the pain you were broadcasting felt strangely like divine hunger pains. But there is no way that is possible. You are a human, and there is no trace of divinity inside you anywhere. I would have sensed it." Amara sighed in confusion.
"I remember when I suffered through hunger withdrawals, inside the Void. That pain is the worst experience I have ever felt in my thousands of years of existence. I will never forget how that felt; and today I felt it again. Only this time, it was being relayed by you, through your broadcast. This doesn't make any sense."
She traced the tip of her manicured fingernail over Trinity's forehead, through the washcloth. She couldn't touch Trinity directly, but maybe if she sent a small amount of healing energy into her, through the cloth, it might find its own path to lead to where it needed to go in order to heal whatever needed healing inside of her.
It was a long shot, but she didn't know what else she could try. She already knew that Trinity's body would be able to handle the energy without needing to dilute it down, since she had been able to contain her brother's possession without any issues. So with that, she began slowly pouring healing energy into Trinity, through the cloth that covered her forehead.
Unfortunately, without being able to touch her skin directly, she had no way of directing the energy through her body. Nor any way of determining where it might need to go. She could only hope her body would know what to do with it, on its own.
Behind her, from back on the balcony, a menacing growl roared in anger. "What did you do to her?!" Zyxel snarled at her, eyes dancing wildly with a fierce, bright red glow. His chest puffing in and out as he tried his best to control his rage.
As Amara turned around, the last thing she saw was her brother diving across the bed, aiming an attack straight for her.
