Jungkook curled back into the covers and let his mind wander to where he could see his smirk, feel his powerful hands, feel his eyelashes tickle his cheek, lips tickle his inner thighs.
He felt butterflies, flimsy knees, a goofy grin spread across his face that made his cheeks hurt. He didn't want to analyze things for a change.
V was soon back, arms full of steaming bowl of pasta and a bottle of red wine from under his arm, placing both on the table. He opened the drapes, now dark, but Jungkook's eyes suddenly adjusted well enough that he could see what was happening. He then arranged the utensils and produced two glasses, a corkscrew from his pocket.
Jungkook climbed out of bed with the top sheet, draping it around his naked lower half, and padded to the bathroom. He looked in the mirror at himself, wild mane tumbling down his naked back, swollen lips, a body littered with bite marks.
'Holy shit!'
Jungkook can see bite marks, two on his neck and left shoulder, his cheeks were pink, his eyes were glistening, looking wet.
He shook his head and rubbed his eyes, barely recognizing himself, something has changed and he can't pinpoint it. He leaned toward the mirror, examining the most prominent mark on his throat, he felt a tingling roll through his body almost like a warm wave had gently washed over his.
Wow.
That was the only word his brain could come up with, he was pretty sure he'd said it aloud then his stomach rumbled loudly so he finished up and got into the shower.
He came back into the bedroom after he saw V putting a lit tray of tea light candle on the table.
Seeing this, V finished his task and walked over, "Jungkook?"
V held open the red silk robe for him.
With a sudden burst of courage, Jungkook dropped the towel he wrapped around his waist and put his arms into the robe, V was disarmed.
The vampire wrapped his arms over his waist and planted a soft kiss on the top of his head. His actions were so endearing it was disarming.
V signalled with his head, walking slowly together towards the table and sat across from him.
The vampire, Jungkook contemplates, was gorgeous, rock hard body, bright blue eyes, sexy bedhead, and he had just cooked food for him after making sweet love, helping him through that emotion… whatever that was.
"You aren't eating?"
"I'm quite full, as it happens," V said, smirking, eyes sparkling like diamonds that had the light shone on it, he then lifts his wine glass and dipped it slightly in his direction and then drank from the glass.
Jungkook felt the heat rise in his cheeks and felt a leak of moisture between his thighs. He clenched and shuffled uneasily in the chair and sipped his wine. He devoured the pasta in an instant. He could tell how the rich tomato sauce was. They cooked it with wine, a heap of mushrooms, peppers and meatballs, the sauce tasted like it had been cooking all day.
V poured him a second glass of wine.
He had hardly looked at the vampire throughout the meal, just focused solely on the food, which he must have desperately needed due to lack of much to eat in the past two days and a lot of calories spent and blood loss.
Jungkook smiled at him as he sipped the second glass of wine and put his fork down, "Thank you, V. 'That' was delicious."
"You're delicious. To your health." V clinked his glass, "All this must agree with you. You have an appetite, colour in your cheeks, you're beautiful, Jungkook."
He put the glass down.
Jungkook blushed.
'Agree with me?'
Jungkook felt whatever ease and happiness he'd been feeling the last few minutes drain out, suddenly felt empty.
Gutted and empty.
'No. No, this is all so wrong. I can't just let myself get caught up in this. This isn't me. How come I didn't recognize Hobi's name earlier.'
Jungkook's expression dropped, thoughts getting darker with a realization of his current situation.
V quickly reached across clasping his hand, "Don't do that, don't…"
Jungkook snatched his hand back and picked up the wineglass with both hands. He downed the rest of the wine, they sat in silence for a moment, it was suddenly beyond awkward.
V looked like he was getting ready to say something, but then his phone buzzed. He glanced at the flashing name and stood, "Be right back," he swiped at it and left the room, his head down, shoulders slumped.
Jungkook sat quietly for a moment, contemplative, he refilled his glass and took it into the closet and turned the light on and rifled through the box of clothes.
It plagued his mind with questions, 'How did his hair suddenly grow? His eyes, senses even. Why does he look different today? And the most recent being - How did I forget about Hobi? Why was he calling V's phone?'
He clamoured through his things and found a pair of cheap black flip-flops, his favourite flip flops, he sighed, remembering buying them at a beach kiosk last summer on an outing with Hobi and a few other neighbours from the building.
They'd all chipped in and rented a van and spent the day on the beach, bathing, eating junk food, drinking beer and vodka, endless people-watching, and camping the night out. It had been one of the few carefree days he'd had in a very long time.
'Could he have more days like that with bumper cars and cotton candy and laughter? Probably not, if he lived with a vampire and wasn't allowed to leave his bedroom.'
He put the flip-flops on and stepped out onto the balcony with his wineglass.
Everything was dark, except for a few dim lights around the pool, still, his eyes could see clearer. It was a starry night and the aroma of all the flowers in the courtyard together with the near quiet, just the sound of the pool pump, was relaxing.
Jungkook inhaled the scent and tried to clear his head.
Across the way, he saw a light go on in a room directly opposite him. It prompted an 'A-ha' moment. The balcony wrapped around most of the second floor. He knew that just this suite and the other bedroom were in this wing of the house, so it stood to reason that there was at least one more way to the staircase off the rooms on the other side.
'Maybe that entrance isn't locked. If he got over there when he was asleep maybe he could get out of the house..'
He narrowed his eyes, sucked on his lower lip, drumming his fingers on the railing, wondering if the terrace doors on that side were unlocked. There were a few sets of them, he expected they would be, given that this door and the guest room's terrace door had been unlocked.
He thought of his face as they'd looked into one another's eyes in bed a little while ago. He thought about all the emotion that had oozed out of him. He felt a stabbing pain in his chest and a longing.
'For what?'
He shook himself back to reality.
'No. This couldn't be; it couldn't be his reality. Pleading with a vampire to bite him? He must be slipping in and out of hypnosis. Moments of clarity and then moments of weakness? Back and forth like a seesaw.'
It was the only thing that made sense.
He had to go.
Regardless of how the vampire made him feel earlier, he couldn't just succumb to this submissive fate, this blood slave prison.
Surely his life had to be about more than the physical attraction with him.
Eventually, he'd tire of him out.
'What then? How would he make sure he wasn't out there with his secret?'
Jungkook already felt like he was losing himself, knew he was doing and feeling things that made little sense. He had to make this end before it ended badly for him. He had to get his head back on straight.
Getting away from V would probably be the key to that, and if what had happened earlier tonight showed the power he had over him.
Every time V was near, Jungkook's common sense seemed like it disintegrated.
He'd better get out of here soon, before he fell under his spell.
Calling him 'Prince,' that hit a trigger for him, a big one, that being the nickname he'd dreamt of being called since a little boy since before he'd become so sceptical of love by whatever partner would be his soulmate.
Jungkook couldn't let his common sense vacate like this, he had to get out of here. He dashed back into the closet to see if his running shoes were in there with his belongings.
.
Ten minutes later he'd rifled quickly through all the boxes and had found no other pairs of shoes, he was no Imelda Marcos but he owned several pairs of running shoes.
'Where the hell were they?'
He took a pair of yoga pants, a black hooded sweatshirt and stuffed them under the bed with his flip-flops and then changed quickly into a pair of pink cotton sleeping shorts and a light top. It would be better than sleeping naked beside the vampire unless he ripped them to shreds like his other clothes, and it would serve as underclothes when he left with the sweats.
He climbed into the bed, his heart thudding wildly, he felt like he was doing something awful like he was about to make a mistake but he had to get out of here.
He couldn't just be a victim.
Staying would allow himself to be a victim.
'Right?'
He fought with his thoughts, growling in frustration.
Almost everything inside his head told him he had to run, as this wasn't his world, Jungkook isn't meant to know about its existence.
If V weren't some freak of nature, he wouldn't be what he'd called lucid, wouldn't have a clue, he'd be back home, living his 'not much of a' life.
He'd never have remembered feeling those intense blue eyes burn through, never felt those fangs on him, and never felt these confusing feelings.
A part of him wanted to say fvck it and see where this thing with them could go, as he'd never felt like this about anyone.
This feeling, this intense connection, this deadly attraction… Jungkook couldn't reconcile it in his head.
'It had to be wrong. It had to be.'
He shook the feeling off with another frustrated growl.
'Did he just growl? Yep, this was emotion at its finest. Emotions fvcks you up and make you weak.'
Emotions had never equated to anything positive for him, but then again, it had never felt quite like this before, either.
Jungkook hoped the vampire would be back soon, fall asleep, he could try to get it over with and find out if the balcony was, truly, a way out. He tried to calm himself down, taking a few deep breaths.
He needed something to zone out with and just quiet his anxiety down for the next little while. He found a TV remote by the side of the bed and flicked on the television that was mounted over the fireplace directly ahead.
He surfed through mindless late-night TV for a few hours, not able to lose himself in any of them. They all seemed beyond ridiculous, irritating even, he used to love to zone out in front of the TV for a few hours on end after his shift at the bar but now… Things have changed, it all seemed too trivial given his present circumstances.
He'd watched about an hour of news and there were no missing person reports about him, he felt on edge and restless. He wanted to see if he could get through to another part of the house, but knew it would be foolish to try now when he could likely be over there in that room where the light had gone on.
'What if those were Jin's or Joon's rooms if they lived here? What if there were others in the house, too?'
Jungkook pushed the thoughts out, he had to try but would wait until V was asleep. He got up and glanced out the window again, the light across the way was still on.
He'd pretend to be asleep when he came in so that he would hopefully ignore him and go to sleep.
What happened earlier still nagged his mind, but he kept pushing it back, not ready to put any more thought into what had happened, what he'd felt. He still felt so raw after falling apart and pushed all of that to be reviewed later.
He didn't want to stay stuck in his head, in his angst, analyzing all of that.
He was more than accustomed to pushing feelings away.
Hopefully, soon he would be out of here with no need to review all of those emotions at all.
It felt like an eternity before hearing the door open, he twisted so that his back would face V's side of the bed, pulled the blankets up to shield most of his face from view and tried to keep his breathing as steady as possible.
He heard V go into the bathroom, the entire time the vampire was in there Jungkook's heart felt like it stuck in his throat. He was there for a few minutes, heard the shower stop and shuffling of his feet to get in bed.
As V pulled him back against his chest, spooning him, he ignored his heartbeat, picking up the tempo and tried to feign sleeping.
It wasn't easy, the vampire smelled of expensive shampoo, toothpaste, flowers and him, creating a mint-vanilla-musk aroma.
Jungkook could feel his erection against his backside.
V's mouth was on Jungkook's nape and he was inhaling his scent, burying his nose into his hair. His hand was on his stomach, he whispered his name and told him he smelled so good.
He intentionally stirred, pulling away to make himself seem like he was in a deep sleep and annoyed by his touch. He could feel his breath on his neck, could smell how sweet and tempting it was.
The vampire then pressed his pelvis against his backside and slowly gyrated, "Firecracker… Can't get enough of you."
Jungkook squirmed away and tried to make his breathing sound heavier, but he moved closer.
'Why wouldn't he just… STOP?'
He wanted to scream his frustration, he was on the edge of the bed and felt like he was on the edge of madness.
There was no place to fvcking go.
He felt his teeth graze the middle of his back, trailing his backside, fangs were out.
'Okay, he couldn't possibly pretend to sleep through this.'
"I'm tired, V," he said, then winced, wishing he hadn't said his name.
Jungkook groaned as the vampire ran his fiery tongue slowly from his spine, straight up his back, and then his mouth sucked at his earlobe.
The sound and the heat of his breathing together made his belly dip and tighten. The vampire trailed kisses from his shoulder, down his arm to his hip. Then suddenly his teeth were against his hip, his hand slid between his legs and gripped his growing erection possessively.
"I need you, Jungkook. Oh, what do we have here… Hmmm?"
V chuckled, clearly pleased with seduction skills, he was a 'creature' of the night.
"Ouch!"
Jungkook yelped as the vampire's teeth punctured his hip, he wanted to protest - tried to clamp his legs shut and shove his hand away but he flipped him onto his back and pulled at his clothes.
V licked his hip, drifting down to his inner thigh and pierced near where he had first bit him. He pushed his shorts aside, wetting his middle finger with his saliva, he pushed a finger onto his ass. After a few minutes, it became several fingers while rubbing his cock with his other hand.
For a second V stopped drinking and slithered his tongue inside his hole, he teased him by licking his balls then back to feeding.
V grabbed at the waistband of his shorts, tearing them in the middle, and threw them aside.
Jungkook stopped fighting as he felt his eyes roll toward the back of his head.
'Will he eventually drain me dry? Screw me to death?'
As per the new usual, Jungkook's body didn't care what his mind had to say. He knew at this point he couldn't make V stop.
But he wanted to not feel his, not feel this… this emotion.
He begged his brain to tune out the feelings and sensations.
'Maybe he'd get away tonight and it would be the last time he'd be with the vampire.'
The thought left him feeling like something pierced his heart. He felt his eyes well up with tears, sudden stabbing pain in his chest as raw emotions flooded his heart.
'Why did the idea of never seeing or feeling the vampire again suddenly cause pain, an aching gaping hole in his gut?'
V caressed him throughout the process, worshipping his body.
Peacefulness or something akin to it that was trying to overtake his emotions.
As his thoughts battled against his brain, he saw V staring at him like he was the most beautiful boy he'd ever seen, drinking from him with an appreciation in his eyes as if he was giving him a gift.
It was bizarre, like a war raging in his brain.
"Please stop fighting. Ignore that nagging doubt, baby... Focus on me."
Jungkook furrowed his brows and V moved up to nuzzle the side of his neck, "Every time I taste you, you taste even better. How is this possible? I keep thinking you can't possibly taste any better, but then I taste you again and you do."
Listening to the vampire's words felt like he was going to explode, like fireworks, shattering like tiny countless splinters, popping into golden specks of light that rain down into the night sky.
It was like the spot he sucked was now full of the same tingling nerves as what was directly between his legs, it seems like the vampire's teeth were transforming whatever they punctured into an erogenous zone.
Jungkook was gasping for air, totally winded, cheeks scarlet red, feeling dizzy as he floated back to solid ground and V climbed up his body and slid inside of him.
"You feel so fvcking good," he moaned into his ear, wrapping his arms around Jungkook and kissing him passionately, his tongue probing and twirling around his mouth.
Then he pulled out, flipped Jungkook over onto his stomach, yanking his hips, pulling his ass up into the air. The vampire drove deep inside of him from behind, running his hand from his hip upwards to his back, then trailing and squeezing his nipple and landing on his throat.
His long fingers caressing along the puncture wounds as he pumped in and out.
V's cock felt so deep, he felt so full, Jungkook felt like his eyes were rolling into the back of his head again. He was already so raw and sore with their multiple sex-capades, but this was sweet, exquisite pain.
The vampire put his hand back to his cock and pumped it again and again as it pulsed through their rhythm.
Jungkook soon detonated into an almost painful but euphoric orgasm, he buckled back wanting to feel V's thick cock deeper, despite the feeling of being on fire.
He heard himself cry out the vampire's name, his name just wanted to tumble off his tongue, to please him... it was such a bizarre heady feeling.
'Brainwashed? Oh, who the fvck cares? My cock is about to fall the fvck off but this feels so good…'
V let go of his throat and took him by the hips, driving in and out repeatedly.
Jungkook was shuddering so hard he would've collapsed face-first into the pillow if he'd let go, but he didn't, he bucked against him, enjoying every minute.
The vampire bit on the side of his torso, then bit again on the shoulder, the shoulder blade. He kept biting and sucking all over his back, arms and he jolted with the electricity of each puncture - not in a bad way.
The vampire wasn't draining him of blood in any one spot. He endeavoured to have a taste of Jungkook all over, like a starved man at a king's buffet. He flipped him onto his back and grabbed his hand and bit his wrist.
He felt blood dribble down his forearm and his eyes widened, the euphoric sensation rippled through him repeatedly.
'How could this feel so good?'
Jungkook whimpered, "V... please.. don't stop..."
Upon hearing his name escape Jungkook's lips, the vampire let out a low, dominating growl. He looked like the King who's about to dominate another country as he hovering over his body, holding his hips, using his mouth all over his skin.
"Never," V stated.
Every bite resulted in a moan of hedonistic pleasure. He could see the vampire's face clearly, despite the dark. His icy eyes darkened with lust, his fangs coated with his blood, and Jungkook had never been so turned on in his life.
V was like a wild man, a wild vampire… insatiable with lust and not rage.
It was incredible to see V like this, it was like he was fvcking him with his eyes, his fangs, and his cock. He dominated and screwed over in the best way possible. His brain was tuned out, a total mind fvck happening there, too.
V looked so thoroughly pleased with himself, his demeanour reminded him of ownership, the vampire owned him right now.
The vampire lifted his leg to rest his heel on his shoulder as he pushed in deeper, he then pierced his calf with his fangs.
The bite had prompted his third orgasm, dragging him into a higher euphoric high. He didn't think he could take much more than his orgasms took over his over sensitized veins.
V finally climaxed, thrusting deeper and releasing inside Jungkook. He collapsed onto the bed beside him and the cockiness disappeared as he stared at him with a tender look on his face, "I am definitely... keeping you, firecracker."
Those words hit Jungkook like a slap, he sat upright and started hyperventilating.
V's eyes flickered with confusion for a beat, he flicked the lamp on.
The white sheets had bloody smears all over the place.
There were a few old ones from earlier that day, but plenty of fresh streaks.
Jungkook started frantically examining his body wherever he could see marks but nothing he could see was still bleeding.
V had licked every wound, and it had made the bleeding stop, leaving only bite marks on his body and a few of them were hickies, it showed where the vampire sucked too hard or for too long.
"You okay? Damn!"
Jungkook continued to survey the damage on his skin, his limbs felt weak again, he looked at the inside of his wrist - the fang marks were unmistakable.
'I might have to kill you? I might have to keep you? I am keeping you.'
I need to get out.
His words, keeping you, echoed in his mind.
Jungkook trembled, and bile rose in his throat.
"It's okay," V touched his arm, "You're weak right now. Lie down, firecracker."
"I need the bathroom, I'm going to throw up."
"I'll help you."
The vampire carried him bridal style into the bathroom and carefully set him on his feet.
"I'm okay," Jungkook waved his out feebly but V looked at him with concern.
"I'm fine," he insisted, but as the words were barely out of his mouth, he started throwing up violently in the toilet.
Jungkook felt weak and suspected that besides seeing all those marks on his own body, his blood trickling out, that he'd overdone it with that meal and all that wine. In addition to his shattered nerves as he was waiting anxiously all evening for his chance to slip out onto that terrace to try the other doors.
V's declaration had been the last straw that frayed Jungkook's resolve.
He felt the vampire at his back as he held his hair back for him and rubbed circles on his back.
"Thank you," he muttered and flushed the toilet and V stepped out, leaving him some privacy.
Jungkook splashed water on his face and brushed his teeth with his toothbrush, which was sitting beside the other.
He hadn't placed it there.
He let out a sigh, seeing what looked like another sign of his plans to 'keep him' and walked back into the bedroom.
He then quietly strode through the room and found his torn clothes on top of the bloody piled blanket. He disappeared into the closet to get another pair of clothes, after that he got back to the room and saw the mess.
The blood streaks, the white blanket sheets that almost looked tie-dyed white and red.
The vampire sat down on the bed and his gaze followed Jungkook's to the stains and then he got back up.
V kissed him on the shoulder and then pulled the sheets back, "I should change these. Not that I'm not okay sleeping in sheets drenched in your delicious blood."
Jungkook flinched at his touch and started to fret, worrying that he would find his clothes under the bed. He helped him pull the sheets off, staying on the side of the bed near his stash.
"You're too weak. Sit. I'll do it," he looked at him strangely.
"No, I'm… I'm okay."
The vampire eyed him, brows furrowed and shook his head, "You're not."
He shook his head and shrugged as the vampire let out a sigh, he walked into the walk-in closet and came back with a new set of sheets, they were dove grey and silky.
Jungkook stayed on that side of the bed and tried to help him make it.
"Get in," V ordered after the sheet and pillowcases were on.
Jungkook felt a lump in his throat.
'Did V suspect he was about to escape?'
He flicked the top sheet and then the large duvet over and tucked him in.
A goofy smile spread across the vampire's face that made him seem boyish. He settled in, snuggling, and kissed Jungkook's forehead, and looked at him with concern. "You okay?"
The bed felt so fresh, he suddenly found h himself bone tired.
"Uh, huh. What time is it?"
"Almost 4. Keeping vampire hours, are we?" V arched a brow.
Jungkook tried to smile, but it wasn't very sincere and they both knew it.
V flicked the lamp off and let out a long yawn, stretching his arms high above his head and cracking his knuckles.
"You gave me quite a workout tonight," he leaned over and tucked loose hair behind his ear.
Jungkook nodded weakly.
"Thirsty? I should get you some water or juice?"
"No, just tired."
At his response, V gathered him close, and he felt his eyes droop, his cheek landing on the vampire's warm chest.
He had to stay awake so he could slip out the door and see what was out there, but he could feel V's heart beating and knew it'll lull him to sleep. He found the vampire warm and the way he smelled… a tear rolled down his cheek and landed on the latter's chest.
V sighed, "I'm over the defiance bit, baby. Stop fighting, okay? Let this happen. It feels right, doesn't it? Give it a chance. Let yourself be mine."
He said nothing but felt numbness spread over his body and had to hold back emotion.
The room spun a little, he turned away, onto his stomach and closed his eyes tight and took a few deep breaths.
V put his leg over Jungkook, locking him in a king-size bed.
Within a few minutes, he could hear the vampire breathing patterns even out, he was asleep. His leg draped over his thigh, an arm around his back, his breath tickling his nape, Jungkook felt like he was in a cage.
Jungkook waited there for a few minutes more, hoping that it would be enough time for him to get into a deep sleep before moving.
He was so tired and V was so warm and comfy.
A cuddly vampire.
'Who knew? And he wants me to be his? What does that even mean? A permanent all he can drink and fvck buffet, stuck in his bedroom?'
Now would be a great time to get out of here, away from this cuddly, possessive, and nympho-maniacal vampire.
If he waited much longer he'd fall asleep too, it was late enough that the others in the house, if there were any, would hopefully be asleep and with V just falling asleep he probably wouldn't be awake for a while.
'Or, wait… I'm dealing with vampires here, Jungkook! Would the other vampires be awake until dawn?'
He didn't know but hoped they were all asleep, it could give him a good head start. He did not know where he was, how far from home he was or if Hobi would even let him in after having been hypnotised or whatever.
'Maybe it would be smart to stay away from the apartment, V would probably look there first.'
He'd be running with no money or anything else, he had no plan. It didn't matter, though, he had to go, try to see if he could get out through the terrace.
If he succeeded, he could figure the rest out later.
'Maybe once he got farther away from here, his reason would return.'
A few minutes later, after he counted to sixty clicks, twenty times and felt like he was on the verge of madness, that he finally got the nerve to pull away. He inched off the edge of the bed slowly throughout every few moments. The vampire didn't move, he had little room, though, as they'd been close to the edge as it was.
Jungkook's heart thumped louder, he was getting a headache. He tried to calm it with a few breaths and inches farther away. He stirred a little and reached in his direction. He pushed a pillow over toward his hand and landed on it, that seemed, for the moment, to work. He carefully got out of the bed and crouched onto the floor, his knees landed with a thud making him wince.
Carefully he reached under the bed and grabbed his flip-flops, clothes and balled them up together under his arm in a football hold.
Damn, he was sore and his knees were shaky, but he tried to move against the pain. He tiptoed toward the balcony door, he looked back to see if the vampire had moved.
He stared at his sleeping form for a minute, V looked so peaceful, so handsome.
'This might be goodbye, gorgeous cuddly vampire prince.'
Jungkook felt a strange sensation, pain and loss sweep through him, as he backed away from the vampire.
He held his breath to prevent a sob from escaping, his eyes welled up with tears. He looked out the window and saw that the light across the way was out, which felt like confirmation that V had been there earlier and it was not a bedroom of one of the other guys.
He hoped he was right as he slowly turned the door handle and stepped outside, carefully closing it behind him.
Jungkook's chest felt tight and sore, he found inhaling air brought sharp pain. He didn't let himself exhale too fully, then felt terror spread through his body, but pushed it away.
'Hold it together, Jungkook!'
He inched along slowly on the balcony, making his way down toward the guest room's terrace doors. He passed through doors, his heart felt like it was beating in his ears, he inhaled and tried to erase the sleeping image of the vampire that suddenly popped into his mind.
Jungkook had to go, but he felt like he was being pulled back toward that bed by invisible magnets.
It felt like his blood heat and every vein in his body was throbbing and aching, pulling him back towards the vampire's bed.
His thoughts were jumbled, he wasn't sure and felt discombobulated still he kept going to where he'd realized earlier as he rounded that corner he could see that there was a drop-down ladder that he would have to pass.
'Should he take it instead?'
He did not know if it would make noise or not, so he kept walking and stick with the original plan. Before taking another step, he quickly got into his track pants and hoodie and stuffed his flip-flops into the kangaroo pouch of his hoodie. They wouldn't do him any good right now, would probably just slow him down, so he'd put them on once he got outside the house.
He tried to remain calm, even though he felt weak and ill from all the blood loss and retching. His body pleaded with him to give up and try tomorrow, but something else in him pleaded with him to give up and to never try instead.
Jungkook heard a deep, sultry baritone in his mind, he remembered when the vampire said, "I've got you," but pushed any emotions those words wanted to stir up away.
Fvck!
Jungkook's heart raced as he pondered what to do next.
'Should he go back? Wait… Yes... No! I need to get out of here.'
He fumbled with his way through, thoughts still chaotic, for what seemed like an eternity until he found the last door.
By the time he was inside, he was breathless inside a large library-like room with an enormous desk in the middle. There was a long conference table for over two dozen. There were tall bookshelves filled with hardcover books, a wall of wooden filing cabinets with shiny brass fittings, a computer, a telephone…
'A telephone! Should he call 1-1-9?'
Jungkook stared at the phone for a minute, wondering if he should call the police and get them to rescue him. His thoughts halted when he heard a commotion from outside of the room.
"Jungkook!" he heard V yell.
It sounded strangled.
'Was his voice full of rage or pain?'
He didn't know but every nerve in his body prickled in response, he held a hand over his mouth and held his breath for a long minute but his body was fully trembling. His body resonating with the vampire's pained voice.
After a while there was silence then he heard a muffled voice, someone shouted 'Where?' in the distance, it might have been in the courtyard.
It was another male voice, and it was closer, "The prince thinks he's still in the house. Try that way."
And V yelled, "If you find him, corner him and call me. DON'T touch what's mine," he was loud, and he sounded frantic, or furious, or both.
Jungkook threw himself on the floor and crawled under the desk. He heard silence stretch for a few more minutes, he leaned up and reached for the phone. He lifted the cordless receiver and took it under the desk.
'Fvck, fvck, fvck!'
He dialled 1-1-9.
The operator answered, "1-1-9, what's your emergency?" he heard something clatter close by.
He didn't want to be heard, he reached up and put the phone back up on the desk and stayed quiet underneath.
The line was open and he could faintly hear something coming out of it, likely the operator asking if anyone was there.
'Emergency services should dispatch police, or an ambulance thinking someone was unconscious or something. Right?'
Jungkook hoped the staircase at the end wouldn't be blocked. He got to his feet and started to run as silently as he could down the stairs as he looked around, but saw no one.
Adrenaline pumping through him, he dashed down the steps in his bare feet and ran past V's black Lincoln Navigator SUV and two other vehicles.
His feet were killing him, his legs sore, his lungs were barely functional. He ran as fast as he could, telling himself it was just like the wall during a marathon run, which he'd experience twice in the past.
He just had to run through the imaginary wall, and he'd be okay.
Only this time it felt like something, some unseen force, was pulling him back instead of his desire to succeed, driving himself forward.
The stone path leading from the house wound ahead as far as he could see. He followed it but switched to the grass, it would be easier on his feet and if the vampire came for him in his vehicle, he had a better chance if he was not on an empty road.
The property was expansive, but he knew he'd left the door wide open, so in a matter of moments, he'd know he was out. It was still dark outside, but he knew he had little time before the sun rose but one can see some areas were clear and others had small clusters of trees but there was nothing else as far as he could see.
Jungkook didn't dare look back, he was afraid that he'd see someone gaining on him. What mattered was that he was outside of the house and he was almost to the finish line, away from the vampires…. Away from him.
'Maybe the police were on their way and would distract him long enough that he'd be able to put a good amount of distance between himself and the house.'
A cramp shot on his side, Jungkook had to slow down, his body suddenly started violently pulsing from deep within, an odd sensation. He stopped, his ass anchored against a big weeping willow tree, and took deep breaths, hands resting on his knees.
It felt safe under there, hidden from view, he dared to look back the way he came and squinted, straining his eyes, trying to see but he saw nothing other than trees.
All he could hear right now was his own heart wildly beating, his heavy breathing and that weird thrumming inside of him, it had become audible as if it was on a loudspeaker.
Jungkook assessed his body, he had zero endurance right now, making it hard to run...
Suddenly the throbbing halted and felt someone grab his wrist!
He looked up, eyes widening, and gasped, "V."
The vampire was barefoot, in a pair of jeans and he was staring directly into his icy blue eyes filled with rage, his jaw was tight.
'Where did he come from? It was as if he'd come from the other direction rather than from the house.'
"Let me go!" Jungkook screamed out, realizing how stupid to say as the words were coming out.
He let out a pained scream as his plan was foiled and because the vampire's grip was tight.
V tightened his grip further, pulling him toward his chest.
He slammed hard and he yelped out in pain.
"Do you…" the vampire started, seemed like he was trying to gain control of himself through deep breathing, "want" he leaned in, an inch from his face, "your throat ripped out?"
Jungkook had seen no one so frightening, so menacing, in his life.
The monster was back.
"Do you have any idea who you're fvcking with?" V continued to snarl, his nostrils were flaring.
He raised a hand across his body, stopping at his shoulder, looking like he was about to backhand him. Jungkook was afraid to speak, to breathe, he braced himself, expecting the back of his hand to fly at his cheek.
"I told you, you weren't going anywhere. Do you have a death wish? And after everything…"
V eyed him with betrayal and disgust marring his face, his raised hand dropped to his side.
Jungkook felt guilt wash over him.
In a quick fluid motion, he found himself hoisted over the vampire's shoulder and had the sensation of being on a subway train. He was running back toward the house as Jungkook tried to struggle but two or three strides in and it'd been like they hit some sonic warp speed, so he just tensed and gripped his waist.
Jungkook felt the wind whirred in his ears and all he could see was the ground blurring under the vampire's feet
He heard his voice in his mind, remembered what he'd said before, more like being an enhanced human who has more strength and speed - this is how he got ahead of me.
Seconds later, they were at the front door and set him down.
Before he opened the door, he leaned into his ear and said, stone serious, "Eyes down, look at the floor. Do not look at or speak to either of them. Straight upstairs to my bed." His grip around his wrist was excruciating, his eyes icy cold and enraged, "Understand?"
He was about to snap a snarky retort, but at the sight of the vampire's fiery expression, he thought better of it. Jungkook glared at him for another beat and then loosened his grip on his wrist. His facial expression dared him to argue with, then he pushed the door open and roughly ushered him forward.
The two guys were both in the foyer, he could feel their eyes. He didn't look at them, just stared straight ahead, walking past and climbed the stairs and V stayed at the bottom of the stairs.
As he approached the half-opened gate at the top, feeling all sets of eyes on his back, he heard one of them say, "Is that a cruiser?"
The police!
Jungkook felt a glimmer of hope for a split second and turned to look back, but suddenly V was beside him at the top of the stairs, holding his elbow roughly and walking him forward. He had to jog to keep up with his pace. When they reached their bedroom door, he opened it and gave him a shove.
Jungkook tripped and fell, V towered over him and slammed the door close.
"You always pick the hard way, don't you? For fvck sakes!"
Jungkook curled into a ball and hid his face, the vampire dropped to his knees, forcing his chin up so he could stare coldly into his eyes.
He thought of let out a blood-curdling scream to get the police's attention, as he inhaled deep, about to let it go, V seemed to catch on and covered his mouth with his hand before he could make a sound.
Using his other hand, he pointed his index finger at him, he issued a warning in a sinister whisper, "Make one sound, one fvcking sound and whoever is outside that front door will be decapitated. You want to be responsible for that?"
Jungkook's doe eyes were wide and shook his head.
"Do you know how serious I am?" V spoke to him like he was a child. "Let's make sure you do," he said and bit into the crook of his arm.
V drank, a hand clamped tight over his mouth and Jungkook felt that now-familiar humming in his veins and then it changed, it was like anger was drip-feeding into him, moving in fast like a shadow.
It was cold, fierce, hateful, and petrifying.
Jungkook wanted it out, his head throbbed, he tried to struggle but his grip was too tight.
It felt something dark and nasty was crawling through his veins, slowly, like a thousand nasty fire ants. He hated the sensation, it felt like thousands of them crawling through his body, his heart hurt, his throat was dry, he felt sick.
V let go abruptly and snarled, "Does that tell you anything about who you're fvcking with?" his irises were black.
He then let go of his mouth, he hit the carpet, limp and feeling like they drained his life out of him and replaced with something poisonous, appalling and rancid. His mouth was agape and it wracked his body with violent shudders. He wanted to scream, but no sound came out, his arm was still bleeding.
V looked like he was about to say something else but decided against it and turned on his heel, leaving him on the floor, exiting the room and slamming the door behind him. He hadn't stopped the bleeding before he left.
Jungkook crawled slowly toward the bed and curled into the fetal position on the floor beside the nightstand. He grabbed a tissue box from the nightstand and pressed a tissue against the wound.
It still felt like his skin was crawling and bile rose in his throat, he clambered to his feet and staggered to the bathroom to throw up but just had the dry heaves. It went on for hours, contracting and spasming his body until he was so weak he had to crawl back toward the bed. He made it as far as outside of the bathroom door, he wished he'd throw up whatever vile thing the vampire unleashed inside.
He'd had no choice but to escape, again, this vampire prince who had been so demanding had also been so sweet, so many times, his actions would mean that Mister 'I just want to hold and cuddle you' was gone.
He thought back to earlier that night, the way he'd held him, the way they'd stared into one another's eyes.
The way he'd called his Prince.
The emotion that had washed over him and through him and how intensely he had held onto his… he felt an immense sense of loss right now after feeling that rage and hate coming from him bleeding into his veins.
V wanted him to feel it.
And Jungkook did.
It was hatred crawling through his veins, clawing at his heart, he cried for a long time, feeling like his heart was slowly being ripped out of his chest.
Jungkook wanted to close his eyes, but where was he...?
'When would he be able to shake off the hatred that still tingled inside of him? What was going on downstairs? Was anyone being hurt, or had they hypnotized the police? What would he do to him when he came back?'
He silently cried, as he knew his actions would cost anyone their life.
He closed his eyes and tried to escape from his reality until he drifted to that stress-free place somewhere between awake and asleep, he'd woke up from this state when he heard the door.
V was back and so was that horrible sinking feeling, he purposefully strode in and dropped a pile of chains on the bed, he spotted shackles attached to the chains. He then strode to the sofa and grabbed him roughly by the arm and pulled him over to the bed.
"No." Jungkook protested weakly.
Jungkook tried to fight as he quickly secured him, not looking at his face, not paying any attention to his sad and ineffective attempts to wrestle with him, he could see that he was seething with anger.
The vampire cuffed his right wrist and attached it to the scrolled headboard.
He left the left one free. He skimmed his arm's bite wound, which had already stopped bleeding, and dropped his arm without being careful about it. He winced. He cuffed his left ankle and attached the chain to the footboard. He left the right one free. The chains were long enough that he wasn't uncomfortable, but they certainly wouldn't let him leave the bed.
"V, please, I..." Jungkook was trembling all over.
For once he seemed unaffected by his name being spoken, if anything, it looked like it made his jaw tighten even more.
When he finished, he leaned over and grabbed his throat, Jungkook choked, V loosened the grip but didn't let go, he stared directly into his eyes but he squeezed them tightly shut.
"Look at me!" V hollered.
Jungkook opened his eyes wide and whimpered.
"Let's talk about my secret weapon now, alright? I don't need these chains," He jiggled the metal chains, "Why? I'll tell you!"
V was in monster mode, lips curled into a snarl, his eyes were bright blue but yet so cold.
"I felt this new thing that started after drinking from you the first time. When you feel anxiety or stress, guess what? I know it. I know what's going on in your body, and I don't even have to be in the same room as you. We're connected, Jungkook."
Jungkook clawed at his hands, but he couldn't pull them off his throat.
V swallowed, looking shaky for a second, like he pushed his emotion away. His eyes narrowing, "When you got out of the room, it woke me. I felt you moving farther away, and I felt what was going on in your head about whether to leave me. But you made the wrong fvcking choice!"
He took a deep breath and continued, looking angrier, "When I was driving back here yesterday while you were trying to escape, I could feel something was off. I got here just in time to watch you try to leave me. When my underling, Jin, showed you his fangs, I knew you were afraid. I knew what you felt when he tried to intimidate you. I felt your fear. I felt it. I feel when you get anxious, when you feel stress when you want me, I feel all of it."
He fisted his hand and slammed it on his chest, "I feel what you feel. I know what your heart sounds like even if we're not in the same room and I'd bet big money that I could pick it out of a crowd blindfolded. Anyway, there's no point in you trying to leave me and if you do, I'll feel it and I'll stop you. After each feed, this connection we have deepens. I need your blood. Need it like its oxygen. I get even stronger. I'm stronger and faster than I was before. I can now remove or create barriers... Tonight, when you ran, I figured out I can track you. That's new, too. Don't escape again. You. Will. Fail."
Jungkook clawed at his arm, trying to get him to let go, "You're hurting me," he squeaked out.
V let go, "That's mutual, firecracker."
He started hyperventilating.
"What?" the vampire demanded, "How, after what happened earlier tonight, can you just leave me like that? Not to mention that I tell you you're in danger and you run from me and put yourself in more danger? Do you care how that hurts me?" he picked the drinking glass on the nightstand and threw it, shattering against the wall, he also grabbed the Venetian lamp from the nightstand and hurled it across the room.
"This is crazy, it's…" he couldn't finish what he was about to say, Jungkook shook his head vigorously as the other shouted.
"Denial is what it is!"
V picked up the silver tray with the decanters on the dresser and threw its contents across the room, sending it flying everywhere, then punched the wall, putting an enormous hole into it.
Jungkook was trembling hard, the shackles were becoming painful, but this is the moment to stand up to the vampire, "Seriously! Why are you being such an asshole? You have no right to keep me here."
"Seriously?"
"Seriously!" his chin was trembling as he bit back tears.
"This thing we have is more real than anything you've ever felt and you damn well know it, Jungkook. This thing with us started that first time I tasted you and earlier tonight when you fell apart in my arms and wouldn't let go of me. How could you leave after what you felt tonight? I feel you fighting it every step of the way. I have the fvcking right, Jungkook. Every. Fvcking. Right! That's supposed to be you cementing of yourself to becoming mine. It was fvcking beautiful, the most beautiful moment in my life and yours, too, and you just needed to fight it!"
Pain flashed on his face and Jungkook shook his head, trying to ignore the pang of hurt, anger and resentment it sent through his heart.
"You psycho! I can't do this. I can't let you just keep me. I… I run! Running is what I do! A few minutes of crying and holding onto you doesn't change that. I'm not in my right mind here! I was kidnapped and imprisoned. And you just keep trying to use your power and fvck with my head. These mind games, they're..." he sobbed, then stabbed at his temple with his index finger, "fvcking with me!"
"Minutes? You do not know how long it took me to calm you down. Hours, Jungkook! Hours! Do you know how badly you fell apart? Do you know why it happened? Me, us... this thing we have is what put you back together. You keep on fighting it, but it's real. The strength I'm getting from your blood, this is all textbook… the shit real vampire legends are made of."
He pointed his fingertip to his temples, "I need you to listen to me so I can keep you safe, to protect you from things you can't imagine in your nightmares."
"I'm already in a nightmare," Jungkook croaked out.
"This? Do you think this is bad? This is your fault. This wouldn't be happening if you hadn't left, putting yourself in danger." He looked at him with pain and disgust.
"It's been a nightmare! Being a prisoner, getting my blood drank, dealing with your psychosis… getting my mind fvcked…" he dashed the tears off his face with the backs of his hands.
V ran his hands through his dishevelled hair, "You think I'm fvcking with your mind? I can't fvck with it. I've tried, baby, but it's you who is fvcking with mine! Do you have any idea who you're dealing with, who I am? What am I? This isn't who I am. You're fvcking me up! This is not at all how this is supposed to go!"
He paced back and forth, "If anyone gets wind of this connection, of the effects of your blood, they'll want to take you from me. If they snatch you away, they won't stop drinking from you until you're dead. Do you understand what it means? Do you know what death means, Jungkook? Do you care if you end up dead? Because you sure don't act as your care! It's already dangerous that some of my guys know something is off with you. Running away? Then calling the cops? What the fvck?!"
He stopped for air and took a deep breath, trying his best to calm himself down, then he looked at Jungkook, his eyes were practically glowing, "You aren't going anywhere. You stay the fvck here. Don't leave me again. I'm warning you. This nightmare will seem like a walk in the park."
Jungkook was dizzy, he put his palms over his face while V grabbed his chin and forced him to look at him, "You know very little about my world but I'm telling you… you belong to me. It's done."
"What do you mean 'it's done? What's done?!"
V pursed his lips into a thin line.
"I don't understand, V. Make it make sense! You tell me you're addicted to my blood, then you spout statements you want to protect me? Which is it?" he shrieked, "Please let me go. Just let me out of here and we can pretend we never met. I'll keep my mouth shut. Please!"
V ran his hands again through his hair, looking irritated and stressed, "So, you don't care about me, firecracker?"
"I don't even fvcking know you!"
"You know me, Jungkook! You're in danger. And it's already done."
"You've stated that whatever the fvck it means! Let me go and I'll take care of myself. I always do. I'm not your problem."
"You are. You're like a drug, you've turned me into a fvcking junkie. And I need to protect you."
"You've known me a few days. I'm not your problem."
"You are."
"Because you're addicted to my blood!"
"It's more than just that and you know it."
"I know nothing! All I know is that you're freakin' bipolar or some shit and you're holding me here. Being a psychotic monster one minute and all lovesick puppy the next."
Jungkook huffed and turned his face away from the vampire, he stared into space as tears streamed down his face.
The things he said were crazy.
This was all so crazy.
What V said about knowing about his anxiety made sense now. He vividly recalled the incidents he talked about. Locking eyes with Jin in the courtyard, he felt afraid then V was right behind him. Yesterday, there was that tremendous clatter in the hall and V had disappeared for hours after that, the things he'd said about the connection, it was real for both of them.
The way he felt every time he fed on him, that magnetic feeling.
And vampire legends?
Something was happening and whatever it was, it was not normal, he's on information and sensory overload here. He's bone-tired, he needed some sleep, desperately and his arms and legs were aching.
"You're lucky that Jin or Joon didn't taste you first. So. Damn. Lucky. You don't even know. Jin already smelled your blood, and he's a different person since just smelling it! A newbie vampire was here yesterday and smelling your blood through the door meant I had to remove and restrain him. He went fvcking mental! I've had two guys go fvcking crazy being near you. I need to watch Jin like a hawk. I need you to let me keep you safe. Damn it all! If someone did not gift you to me, Jungkook, you'd be dead by now because any of those guys would've fvcking drained you."
"Either them or you, right? Someone in this place will drain me even if I don't go and that's why I ran."
"Lie down."
"Please don't restrain me. I won't try to—"
"Too late."
"V!"
"It didn't have to be this way, but you made your bed. Now, lie down," the vampire had a disdainful look on his face. Jungkook's blood chilled.
He pulled him down and lay down beside him, reached into his kangaroo pocket and pulled out his flip-flops, and threw them on the floor, his face filled with disgust. That look scorched his soul. They stared at each other for a moment.
"I can't believe you," V said softly, "How can I trust you when you fight everything you feel?"
The vampire placed his head on a pillow and laid on another beside him, he waited for an answer.
Jungkook wiped more tears off his face with his hands and stared right back, "I. Don't. Want. To. Feel. I need to use my brain to make sure I survive and I don't need or want your trust."
He shuddered and trembled as the chains rattled, his teeth chattered loudly. He then covered his mouth and sobbed into his hands.
He half expected the vampire to reach out, but he didn't, he just stared at him. His eyes looked wet like it filled them with unshed tears and it made them deep blue, even more beautiful. They stared at one another for a long time, saying nothing.
Inexplicably, he suddenly wished, beyond all reason, that he would just reach for his comfort like he'd done earlier tonight. But he didn't, stopping himself, he just stared. He chided himself for wanting him to hold him.
'How ridiculous was that? After all, that's happened, he'd just said to him. I've gone insane.'
After a few minutes, he closed his eyes and asked sleep to give him a break from the agony that twisted inside of him. It seemed like hours later when he opened his eyes, but it probably wasn't. The vampire was still in the same spot, still staring at him.
The sun still hadn't risen.
It felt like it'd never rise again.
"I'm cold," Jungkook whispered, hoping to get under the blankets.
He shifted to face the other way so he wouldn't have to look at him, the vampire then tightened his grip on the chain so that Jungkook couldn't turn over.
V said nothing, his expression was still so cold-looking.
The vampire wanted him feeling uncomfortable, wanted him to have to face his angry gaze, face the consequences of his actions. He whimpered and covered his face with the pillow, but the other took the pillow away from him and threw it on the floor.
He covered his eyes with his hands and eventually fell back asleep.
~~~
When Jungkook woke up again he was in the same spot, V was still beside him, facing him.
This time he was sleeping, but he didn't look peaceful, but he furrowed his brow in his sleep. He was holding his arm chain in a hand and had the leg chain wrapped around his ankle. His other hand was above his head, and he had a handful of his hair in a grip.
V was making sure he wouldn't escape.
Jungkook felt like shit, his sleep wasn't restful at all.
What little had been left of the night has plagued him with V's face in his dreams. In it, the vampire's disappointment and hurt feeling because of the horror of the situation, and he was still trying to process.
Jungkook glanced at the window, it seems past nine in the morning.
He needed the bathroom, he'd have to wake him to ask if he could use the washroom. The cuff around his wrist dug into the scab left from last night's bite. There was a matching painful scab in the crook of his arm, too.
And his free wrist was black and blue.
Black and blue.
'Ha! Like his eyes…'
He shifted uncomfortably, sore from last night's excitement and for stupidly trying to run away from V again, and from what he said, he was lucky to be alive.
'But what was the alternative? This couldn't be his life, his destiny. Could it?'
And now V was angry with him, probably hated him.
He'd looked at him so painfully, felt like he betrayed him by running away.
As if he'd ever professed a commitment or undying devotion or anything other than wanting to leave.
Jungkook felt a pain stab through his chest.
'What a mess. If he ever drank from him again, would he feel that hatred crawl through him again?'
He didn't think he could bear it.
He knew he'd drink from him again.
He'd told him, himself, how addicted he was to his blood.
He'd made his bed, encasing himself, and now here he was laying in it.
Jungkook stirred again, making the chain in his hand jiggle on purpose. He hoped the vampire would wake up, but he didn't. He moved his leg a little for the chain to tighten around his leg. He still didn't move. He moved his head a bit and his hair slipped out of his grasp, but it didn't wake him.
He stared at V's handsome face.
He was beautiful, thick lashes framing his eyes, dark waves falling over his forehead. His body looked so strong, but he looked so human right now. He felt remorse, his heart felt like it was twisting.
This situation was so messed up.
This bond was genuine and maybe it wasn't so terrible, but he'd never had a connection like this before.
Nothing even close.
