When Jungkook was a little orphaned boy, he'd dream that his life was a lot like being a prince in distress, trapped in his thorn-covered tower waiting for his brave and courageous 'Prince.'
He'd imagine being rescued and being whisked away into the sunset with a white majestic unicorn and taking him to a place he belonged, not a place he was staying temporarily.
With blue eyes, a unicorn and he'd say, 'I'm here to save you, my Prince. Now we can ride off into the sunset and spend my life giving you your happily ever after.'
He'd be perfect.
Tall, dark, and handsome.
With a smirk.
But every man who'd been close to him or responsible for him had either left disappointed deeply or did something inappropriate. With everything that had happened with every man who'd gotten close to him, he just couldn't believe in his prince any more, shattering his image of his prince charming.
Jungkook decided he could never rely on anyone to rescue him and that he'd never be a victim, he'd take care of himself.
He'd purposely avoided guys with blue eyes, even feeling so betrayed because his prince never arrived.
These bitter memories and emotions had dug back inside his mind, trying to feel how he'd felt last night when V worshipped his body and called him Prince with unabashed dominance.
Here he was with a prince, sort of, V was far from perfect but despite that, he wanted to reach out and touch his face right now.
Jungkook's fingers tingle, he was about to reach out to stroke the vampire's hair but stopped when he suddenly opened his eyes then pulled the chain tighter into his grasp as if he'd been about to get away.
"What?" V asked coldly, "Planning to stake me in the heart while I sleep?"
"I have to pee," Jungkook said shyly, "I was willing you awake. Seeing if I could hypnotise you to open your eyes."
The vampire didn't smile, he let go of his chain and reached into his jeans for a key, "I wanted to take a shower, too."
Jungkook nodded and stared at V's beautiful blue eyes, they were bloodshot. He then unshackled him, placed the key on the nightstand, and walked to the bathroom.
'What would today bring? He heard him say, "Stake me in the heart?" again in his mind. Was that another bit of vampire lore? He'd heard his heartbeat himself, felt Jungkook beat in perfect time with it. Was he immortal or just as breakable as anyone?'
The idea of him breaking was surprisingly too painful to bear thinking about. He knew even after what had happened he couldn't do anything violent, except for unleashing that vile stuff into his veins.
Jungkook' followed suit, his body felt so battered as the water was like a tonic after a battle. He lathered up his hair and his body and stood under the hot water against the tiled wall for a long time. Upon inspection, he found bite marks, scabs, hickies, his ribs and thighs felt bruised, probably from being thrown over his shoulder during the run back to the house.
He was so confused about his feelings, he didn't want to face him, didn't want to see V looking so cold, bitter and zigzagging between wanting to get away, wanting to get back in his good graces. He couldn't stand the turmoil inside of him.
Jungkook cried in the shower and stayed in there for a long time, he didn't know what the whole vampire legend thing meant, he didn't think he wanted to know, but V's repeatedly said, 'it's done' comment has stirred something in him, he couldn't name.
After he dried off and wrapped a towel around his waist, and walked into the closet to get some clothes.
V wasn't in the room, he felt a mixture of disappointment and relief. He dressed in a soft velour tracksuit, the type of clothing he'd have chosen at home if he were sick and planning to stay in bed. He climbed back onto the bed with a flop.
'Well, I guess this is how it'd be now. No concern for whether I was hungry or thirsty?'
Jungkook put his head down on the pillow, beyond exhausted, he eyed the shackles, cringed at the prospect of being stuck in those, then eyed the key on the nightstand.
All he'd done for the past few days since being here was sleep and cry.
Agonize.
And fvck.
A while later, he wondered where V was. Seeing as he couldn't ask anyone with questions, he climbed under the covers, shut his eyes and slept feeling sorry for himself, almost wishing he could sleep forever.
The sound of the door startled him clicking shut, there was cereal, fruit, and coffee on the table. He wearily trudged over to the table and ate a few bites.
V entered the room with his mouth set in a firm and angry line, he walked over to the bed and dragged it. Anything in his way got roughly shoved away and muttered curse words.
He dragged the huge furniture effortlessly and didn't stop until it was directly beside the bathroom door, then he left the room and came back with more chains.
Jungkook's heart felt like it leapt into his throat, "No."
V's face looked hardened, cold, "Don't move," he said, meeting Jungkook's eyes, "I warned you. You didn't listen."
"V."
"Shut your mouth, Jungkook," he glowered at him.
"But V, I-"
"Shut the fvck up. You wanted me to leave you alone, you got your wish. This is the bed you made, Jungkook. Don't. Move!"
V didn't look at his face, he could see jaws tight and fury set on his ethereal face.
The vampire attached one of his wrists, the one that didn't have the scab and bruises, and left his feet free. He didn't fight as sadness swept through him as the vampire linked chains together, then attached them to the headboard.
V stacked extra bread, beverages and fruits left from breakfast on an empty shelf that was within reach of the bed and walked over to the nightstand and placed the remote control, then left, slamming the door loudly.
He heard a loud thunk of a lock a second later, then a loud metallic noise he suspected was the gate being slammed down the hall.
Jungkook was numb, he didn't budge, couldn't budge. He felt like he was sinking into despair. He remained on the bed as he stared into space, feeling numb, almost catatonic, for what felt like hours.
Eventually, the room dimmed, the door opened, and his heart sank when he realized it was both Jin and Joon. They had a cart with hot food and cold beverages on it. Joon wheeled it over as. Jin stood in the doorway, arms folded, a sickeningly pleased look on his face.
"Is he finally housebreaking you, darling?" Jin asked, "You've put him in a pretty miserable mood."
"Enough," Joon grunted.
Jin scoffed, then both men left the room, Jungkook didn't bother to even look at what was there, he wasn't hungry.
It'd been an endless day, as it got even darker he wondered when V came in if he'd remove the shackle off but it got dark and he didn't come.
He then noticed that the carpet was still littered with shattered glass, the overturned lamp was beside the bed, the giant hole in the wall from V's fist, the table filled with this morning's breakfast dishes with the neglected dinner cart.
V didn't come back that night, he felt sick to his stomach over the whole thing and woke up probably every hour on the hour from midnight on.
'Where was he? What would happen next?'
Jungkook felt a bit of relief, 'Good, he won't bother me. Won't try to touch me. Won't steal blood from me.'
But he slept terribly.
And V didn't come back the next day, either.
Jungkook felt anxiety about it all day long, he'd wanted to crawl out of his skin. He didn't know why, but he wanted the vampire to come back.
He stared pitifully at the bedroom door, willing it to open and after he would berate himself for wanting to see him.
The third morning, he could hear someone clearing up broken glass and smelled the scent of the wall being patched up. He finally looked up as he felt something on the bed. Jin had placed some clean clothes on the end of the bed and gave a sad, brief smile. He didn't return it, only looked back down at the bed. He had an armful of V's clothing, as Joon had been by the doorway the entire time.
Another cart came and went, the food untouched, all Jungkook took was a bottle of water and went back to sleep. As he was drifting away to dreamland, he tried to feel him, inhaling his pillow and searching for his scent, which was just barely there.
That night, Jungkook had a series of nightmares that had woken him with a start at least three times.
In one of them, he was running for his life through a tunnel with blood dripping from the walls and was looking for V, he'd called his name over and over but he didn't come.
He woke up sweating and frantic, after some time he fell back to sleep and another dream involved him sitting on the floor, pulling his sharp, elongated nails across his left arm and watching the blood ooze out then screaming the vampire's name, calling him to come.
"Come and get it, my black-eyed monster!" he screamed in the dream, but V wouldn't come, so he resorted to pleading with him in the dream, "Please, come back…. V... I'm sorry!"
Then after that he dreamt about V again, a vivid sex dream where it started with him smiling and was about to bite him, about to plunge his cock into him and he'd wanted it, badly, laying on a bed with legs spread and his head tilted, exposing his throat for him but then V moved to stand over, stare at him with black eyes and an angry snarl.
Every time Jungkook jolted awake with noise.
~~~
The guys were there, swapping carts, "I have a terrible headache," Jungkook muttered, "Do you think I could get some Tylenol or Advil, please?"
"Yep," Joon said from the doorway, not looking.
He and Jin left and returned a moment later with two pills, placing them on the cart beside a glass of thick pink liquid that seemed to be a strawberry banana smoothie.
"Thanks," Jungkook whispered and took a sip to down the pills.
"You're not eating," Jin said softly, "He doesn't want you ill. Drink that all, please."
Jungkook put the cup down after one gulp, Joon let out a sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose. He shook his head, then the two left. He turned his back on the tray and closed his raw and sore eyes.
Another long day and Jungkook's soul aches even more than his eyes, head, and gut.
He felt empty, it was the only thing worse than the headache.
'How long would V keep him locked up in here?'
Jungkook could reach the bathroom, but he desperately wanted to feel the sun on his face or the breeze of the wind in his hair. He surveyed his face in the mirror and saw dark circles under his eyes, and his skin was deathly pale. He felt empty inside except for a dull pinching sensation in his veins that had started after his last nightmare ended.
He felt stupid, foolish, and empty.
'How could he feel this way after having been kidnapped just a few days ago, after finding out that vampires were real, after being chained to a bed as a punishment…'
He felt so empty and suspected that only V could fill the void, he felt like he was going crazy without him. He tried to reach out in his head for him, wondering if V could feel how much he needed him to come in and not be angry any more.
'But this was sick, twisted, wrong and so crazy. Some prince. A prince who'd take sex, blood, lock him in a room, and chain him to the bed. A prince who'd push his rage into his veins to be sure he felt it, who'd leave him alone for days to punish him. But the looks, the touches, the emotion… Gah! And would he be feeling this if he'd gotten away? Where would they be right then if he hadn't run?'
Then he stayed awake most of the night, trying to rationalize, trying to figure things out in his jumbled head. His thoughts lead to his childhood, his teens, his life now, about what he wanted from his life. He thought about all the things he'd pushed aside and ignored for years.
Right then Jungkook didn't care what sort of vampire-voodoo-bullshit V had done to make him want him, all he knew is that he craved the vampire's touch, needed him.
The romantic looks would often describe these special touches and sensations or sell the idea of someplace safe and warm. It was a safety and warmth he'd never felt before.
Feeling like a stray chained up in the pound, Jungkook wondered if V could be his forever home.
Everything was pain, everything except V.
He had an aching need for him, it hurt so bad, 'Why? Why was he craving his captor? That man was a monster but… what if I finally got my prince but I fucked it up by running?'
Jungkook laughed maniacally aloud.
Consuming his blood had let him inside in a way that was more intimate than he could fathom and knew that the addiction he talked about was mutual.
For the fourth night in a row, he cried himself to sleep and during the day he stared mindlessly either at the window or the TV. He took two or three showers a day to break up the boredom, but he felt like he was deep in a pit of despair.
On the fifth night, he could've sworn V was there as he bolted awake from his recurring nightmares, he smelled the scent he associated with the vampire but he did not see him. He went back to sleep feeling like it had gutted him.
'A junkie for his blood? Hah. Doubt it.'
Jungkook was more of a junkie than the vampire because as the latter was staying away, he felt like he wanted to tear out of his skin rather than be a prisoner inside this unmoving body that would never feel V touching him again.
~~~
'Were those blood tests back yet? What would happen next? Especially now that V hated him? Would he just waste away in this room, being cared for by his minions? He'd said it was 'done'... Jungkook knew what the vampire meant, he was his.'
Jin seemed like the caring one while Joon, the broody, angry one. Neither came within 2 feet unless they dropped something on the bed or beside the bed table, it was as if he was in an invisible protective bubble.
They came into his room 3-4 times a day, always together, to check and bring in food and drinks. Joon occasionally made comments and his expression was always cold. Jin seemed more brotherly, looking at him with concern, a total 360-degree change from when they first met.
Jin had tried, several times, to coax him to eat, but he only drank water, juice or on some days sips of the crummy-tasting coffee but kept refusing food. Jungkook had a few sips of fruit smoothies or protein shakes or whatever they were when he insisted but never finished them.
The headache was agonizing, and it was almost constant.
As it got dark, Jin placed another stack of clean clothes on the bookshelf beside the bed and tried to talk him into eating some soup, he just kept his eyes on him and didn't say any response.
He got impatient for the first time and his voice got angry, "I'd force-feed you if he'd allow it!" then he stormed out.
That night he woke up screaming, drenched with sweat and did not know what he was afraid of, but he could smell V.
'Where was he? Was he hallucinating? Was this the equivalent of some junkie craving their fix? Was he in the room?'
"V?" Jungkook asked.
There was no answer.
"V!" he screamed aloud, frantically looking around the dark room to see if he was there.
He wasn't.
Jungkook's veins were pinching hard, his skin felt wrong, off, like stuff was crawling on it, in it. He started scratching up and down his arms and legs roughly, trying to make the sensation go away, drawing blood, but it wasn't enough. He then crawled over to the other side of the bed where the sheets are dry and collapsed into the pillow, sobbing, shivering, he felt tired but his hands continued, blood dripping over the sheets.
After some time Jungkook grew tired, his hands stayed still by his side, he laid there quietly, mind going numb, it felt like hours had passed by just staring into the darkness, teeth occasionally chattering, feeling hollow.
~~~
Jungkook woke up, on the seventh day, startled as he heard a noise in the room, he figured it was his breakfast tray coming in but then he caught a sweet scent of V in his nostrils, stronger than last night, he sat up as V was coming out of the bathroom.
V wasn't looking at him but his heart pumped harder and faster, the vampire dressed in a burgundy dress shirt and old worn jeans, looked freshly showered, with damp hair. He was handsome, heart-stoppingly gorgeous, and his heart seemed to stop for a beat.
Jungkook wanted to reach out and grab him and hang on tight, but he said nothing and clamped his mouth shut but could feel his presence as if he was the entire room.
Jungkook remained still, kept his eyes fixed on the bedspread. All of his senses were hyper-aware of him, there was gnawing in his heart, an aching need for him. His bottom lip trembled, but he did everything he could to stop his emotions from rushing out. There was tingling on his skin, veins thickening, throbbing, and his blood warming up.
He felt him walk closer and came over and sat on the edge.
"They said you won't eat. You'll get sick. What've you done?"
V lifted his wrist chain, his arms were covered in healed scratches, Jungkook didn't even try to think how that happened.
Jungkook didn't answer, his chin trembled harder, and he feared the levy holding his pent-up emotions would break.
"I ran you a bath. Then you need to eat," he said softly, looking at his thinned wrist.
V examined the cuff of his shackle, the feel of his fingers was his undoing. He let out a whimper, but quickly held back the onslaught of emotion that threatened to explode out.
Jungkook felt like something trapped him in his own body like it was a foreign prison. He reached over the bedside table with his free hand, picked the key and handed it to him, hand trembling.
Their eyes finally met, V's brows raised in surprise, he put the key down on the bed, stared at the cuff again and heard a click, it was as if V willed the lock to turn with his eyes.
Jungkook's wrist was free, he massaged it without saying a word, he sat quietly and processed what he'd done.
V got up and walked to his desk and turned the computer on, his back was to him.
After a few moments the vampire had nothing else to say, Jungkook slowly got up and went into the bathroom to take a bath, his knees knocked together a few times, he felt so weak.
Jungkook sank into the bubbles and willed the water to wash away the despair he felt.
The water felt amazing.
Not being chained felt amazing.
Seeing him felt amazing.
When he returned to the bedroom, there was a note on the pillow, he noticed he had changed the bedding and the bed was back where it belonged.
Jungkook,
I've left food on the table for you. Please eat.
If you want me… walk over to my office. I believe you know the way…
V
It surprised Jungkook that the pile of chains sat on a chair by the bed, it also surprised him at the tone of his note.
'I believe you know the way dot, dot, dot?'
It almost sounded playful, he looked over at the door and wondered if the vampire had locked it same with the gate.
'No, he was not about to check.'
He went to the table and found a coffee, milk, and sugar dish and a wrapped deli submarine sandwich. There were also a few pieces of fruit, granola bars, and a box of cereal, plus a small cooler filled with a tall bottle of orange juice, two protein shakes, bottles of water.
V was hoping he would scarf down a lot of food or he was planning to be gone for a while.
Jungkook winced as he sat down and poured the coffee and ate half of a banana, it seemed to want to stay down so he sat and sipped the coffee. It was his preferred coffee, the coffee that was sent in the previous days couldn't have been this coffee.
'Or maybe he just didn't taste it because of his state of mind?'
Jungkook looked out the window and wondered what the vampire was doing in the office. He felt restless but knew that there wasn't much he would dare do about it. He decided he was not walking over there.
'What would he even say? Just because he'd let him out of the chains didn't exactly mean that things were better.. did they? For the moment he'd be happy to count the blessing that he'd seen his face. Hah! He was more relieved about seeing the vampire than he was about getting out of the chain. Wow…'
Jungkook opened the window to let some fresh air in the room, trying to calm his confused mind, he cautiously stepped out onto the balcony, the air and the aroma of the flowers in the courtyard lifted his spirits a little.
He still felt a little bit of pinching in his veins but nothing like last night, he sat in the chair for a moment and stared at the window to his office, wondering what he was doing, what he was thinking, and feeling.
After a while, Jungkook went back into the bedroom.
Jungkook spent half an hour organizing his things in the closet, separated the clothes from the other miscellaneous things and moved a few of V's things around to clear two shelves. He piled everything of hers on those shelves.
"There. My life. Two small shelves. In a vampire's mansion."
'Does this mean I've accepted this?'
Jungkook didn't prod within for an answer but knew he put things away because at some level he'd hoped it would make the vampire happy. He was trying to show V he didn't need to worry about him trying to run, again, he didn't want to question his sanity.
He knew he'd do that if he put any thought into his actions right now, but told himself he was just doing what he needed to do right now.
Jungkook didn't want to prod, he was tired of being in the labyrinth inside his head, there was no way to make sense of this situation right now, so why torment himself.
As he put things away, he checked out V's belongings, he had a lot of suits, jeans, nice watches, accessories and jewellery, lots of dress shoes, boots, and several pairs of running shoes. This closet probably rivalled a wealthy woman's closet in terms of articles of clothing and the money spent.
Jungkook opened all the bottles of cologne on the dressing table, sniffing them one at a time. He couldn't find that scent, the floral, musky scent he always smelled and associated with V, he was craving it so badly.
Jungkook tried to ignore that pinching sensation in his arms and legs and continued, he broke the boxes down, placing them against a wall then climbed into bed and peeled a tangerine, he turned the TV on to play in the background and stared out the window, it was a long and boring afternoon.
Every once in a while he'd forget, for a little while, but then something would be said on a show that will remind him of his bizarre predicament and seeing the shackles on the chair out of the corner of his eye at the same time he'd kept wishing V would come in, although he dreaded it at the same time.
'So confusing!'
With much frustration, he heaved a deep sigh and lost himself in a book, there was a bookcase with hardcover books, outstanding books he'd have owned, as paperbacks, himself.
Shakespeare, John Steinbeck, many others, but he snickered as he fingered the spine of Interview with a Vampire.
He was surprised to see an entire shelf dedicated to vampire books, both new and old like Dracula by Bram Stoker, The Anne Rice vampire chronicles, Certain Dark Things by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova, A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness, Fevre Dream by George R. R. Martin, Salem's Lot by Stephen King, even the YA classic the Twilight series.
When it got dark, the bedroom door opened and V walked in, Jungkook was in bed reading The Vampire Lestat and envisioning V instead of Louis as the principal character, he looked up to see anger on his face.
V walked towards him and he strode purposefully, his eyes seemed to emit heat and hold him prisoner.
'Uh oh.'
Jungkook leaned back against the headboard, eyes widening, fear rising because of the intensity on his face, the book in his hand landed on the floor with a thud, he didn't blink, probably didn't even breathe.
V put a knee on the edge of the bed and then crawled, almost like a tiger in the jungle, and Jungkook covered his face with his hands.
The vampire took his wrists gently and moved them away and his eyes met his again and they stared at each other for a moment, Jungkook felt his blood pressure must've been through the roof.
"Don't be afraid," V said and at those words, it slowed a little.
Jungkook slowly exhaled, V let go of his wrist and circled his hands around his head, taking out the elastic band. His mysterious long hair fell in a cascade, it was still slightly damp because of having been wound tight since his bath.
"I need you," V said, "Right now."
Jungkook was startled, V's eyes were intense.
'Well, they were always intense… but right now they exuded something scorching hot.'
V reached and pulled Jungkook toward him, catching his mouth. He kissed hungrily, and the latter responded, giving as good as he got.
Jungkook let out a whimper, feeling relief wash over him as V's musky, sweet floral scent enveloped his nose.
V squeezed him tight, almost too tight as he revelled in that scent, that sweet, warm and comforting scent, his zipper descended, sweatpants, and underwear came down together in a bundle that didn't even get off his ankles, the vampire's free hand rubbed his semi-hard cock, the other hand rimming his soft, puckered muscles, trying to coax it to relax.
Miraculously, the sound of the lube's cap opening was heard as a finger tried to enter his hole. After a few fingers could penetrate, he felt the lube descend, coating his entrance, then V suddenly rammed hard.
It did not relax Jungkook enough, he winced at the fullness, but welcomed it at the same time, 'Fuck the foreplay, this was just what he needed.'
"Please don't do that again," V whispered, breathless as he looked directly into Jungkook's doe eyes and rolled his hips.
Jungkook nodded, hands reaching for him, he wanted V to slam into him repeatedly. The latter leaned back and pulled out, looking like he didn't believe him.
"No," Jungkook pleaded, imploring the vampire with his eyes.
Jungkook didn't want their connection broken, he put his arms around V's neck and kicked his pants off one leg to wrap it around his thighs and pull him close, deeper.. the vampire stopped him with his raised hand, placing his thumb on his cheek, rubbing it softly, wiping a tear that threatened to roll down.
"You can't test me. I don't want you to see that side of me. It's not meant for you. I only want you safe. Please believe me."
Jungkook nodded frantically, bringing his palm over his lips, kissing it.
V was afraid he'd never feel Jungkook like this again, leaning in Jungkook captured his lips, kissed him as his life depended on it.
"We have to talk about this," V whispered then moaned, picking up his pace, "later, my firecracker."
V rained kisses on Jungkook's mouth, cheeks, sucking his earlobes, his throat, he drove in over and over and over, pumping up and down on his cock as his cock slamming in deeper with each thrust, fucking like a starved man in a desert.
Jungkook received every thrust like it was a gift, tears pouring down his reddened cheeks as he reached his climax, he felt euphoric.
V caught every tear, kissed every one of them away, looking at Jungkook with tenderness... Then he climaxed and he felt his whole body went liquid, another bout of euphoria came and swept his body.
When it was over, still breathless, V caressed Jungkook's face, rolled over onto his back and pulled the latter onto his chest, "All day... I wanted you to come to me."
"You were mad at me," Jungkook whispered, thinking about the fact that he hadn't fed from him...
"I know," V sniffed his hair, "Tell me how you feel."
"I-"
Jungkook couldn't speak.
"I need... words, firecracker," V slowly but firmly said, Jungkook knew they were at some sort of tipping point.
Jungkook frowned, V opened his eyes and thumbed his chin up, urging him to say something.
"Sorry. I… I'm sorry if I hurt you when you thought that… whatever you thought. I still don't understand what happened there when I lost it and because it made little sense and because it made me feel things so deeply, I ran. I don't understand these feelings I have. Also, I ran because that's what you do when you're held prisoner and I was scared. I... I regret hurting you. It hurt to see the pain in your eyes. It hurt me too much that I couldn't get that image out of my head. I don't understand this world. I'm willing to listen to what you have to say. I want to know what we're dealing with here. That might not be what you want to hear, I don't know. I don't know what this is, I don't know how to do this, V. I won't try to take off right now. I can't make you any promises other than that. I don't know what you want but I'm trying to be honest."
Jungkook felt very emotional as something was pulling him closer to V, and he felt it reverberate back a mutual pull. He'd had a lot of time to think in the last few days, but at this moment things were suddenly gaining clarity.
He wanted to explore this, whatever this was between him and V.
He wanted V, whether it was chemistry, voodoo, or some form of bewitching he was in. If it meant he could have these feelings, this connection, he was in as the alternative, the not feeling him, the not touching him, it became painful, unthinkable.
"You can't run away. Please, don't even try. I'll explain everything and hopefully, you'll understand why running isn't an option. Understand?" V's voice was slightly threatening then his eyes softened and continued, "Are you okay?" he asked.
"Yeah. You?"
"Mmmhmm... The key. You surprised me, you know? You stayed there with that chain on for days when you could've used the key..," V tucked his hair behind his ear with his fingertips, "I left it on the side table, it was within your reach."
Jungkook whimpered, burying his head into his chest, he knew his actions and emotions made little sense, but what did he know about emotion, he'd avoided it for so long.
"I need to feed, baby. Did you eat today?" V whispered gently.
Jungkook's heart sank, he was under no illusions about the fact that this bizarre scenario was about his blood but he wanted this to be about something else. He wanted to separate things, he wanted to separate from the fear and confusion he felt.
Separating the blood from the sex, the imprisonment from free will, the monster from the gorgeous man who made his insides liquefy when he looked at him and made him feel like never before, especially when he touched him.
Separate the blue from the black and hopefully, never seeing or feeling the black again.
V watched Jungkook, searching for answers, then he leaned down and pulled his pants back up and was about to get out of the bed to go to the bathroom to wash up.
He reached for his wrist, "Where are you going? Talk to me," he said.
"I ate," he said flatly.
"What's wrong?"
"You only came back for my blood."
"No."
"No? Really?"
Jungkook's voice dripped with sarcasm, he fixed the seam of his pants and tried to blow his damp hair out of his eyes, it didn't work so he had to push it back with his fingers.
"No," V pulled him against his side and took his face into his hands, "Definitely not. I missed you. You. I was… angry. And... there's so much I have to figure out. There's stuff you don't know. I needed space."
V suddenly pinned Jungkook underneath, he had his chin in his grip and leaned in to kiss him but he stopped him with his palm over his mouth.
"So... you punished me by chaining me up and now that you're starving, you…"
V kissed his palm, lifted his hand away, being careful as he can see greenish-yellow hues where his bruises were previously, "I had to keep you safe, stop you from running. But yeah, I mean... I was punishing you, too. I'm not starving, but I knew you were ready, and now I want to feed. I want to connect with you, baby."
V admitted that he was being a control freak, but that didn't make it okay.
"I can't just be okay with you chaining me up, controlling me, deciding when I'm ready. Let my wrists go, please, it is still bruised. From you."
Jungkook had to set some ground rules, let him know that V couldn't just take over like this. He didn't want to give anyone carte blanche control over his life, not after his childhood. He pushed back the desire that coursed through his veins at the thought of that connection.
V examined and kissed his wrist, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bruise you. As for chaining you... you know where the key was but didn't use it. Maybe you wanted me to stop you from leaving. Deep down you know you don't want to leave. Listen to your soul, it's telling you to let me take care of you. I can hear it," he touched his face.
"I have issues with being controlled. I guard my freedom... You've been sweet to me, but you've been a scary monster, too. You're domineering and… you said you're addicted to my blood and…"
V cocked an eyebrow at him then exhaled loudly, "You don't understand, Jungkook. You've seen nothing yet. You'd better get ready for a wild ride, baby. I guarantee that this will not be smooth sailing. And yes, I'm addicted to your blood, but I'm addicted to you, too. The feeling is mutual. I feel you, I know it's mutual."
Jungkook interjected, "Wild ride? How's that supposed to make me feel? Your statements make me want to run."
"You can't run. I'm inside you. You're inside me. If you try to run and succeed at escaping for a little while, you'll be miserable. It'd only be for a little while because I'd find you and bring you back. I'd be angry and hurt. You want to keep hurting me?"
Jungkook's heart lurched forward, "I was abducted. You took blood and sex from me, then took blood from me for some test. You've interfered with…," he started counting on his fingers, "my life, jobs, home, body…," he took a deep breath and waved his arms erratically, "Then there's all this supernatural-paranormal-legend-stuff that I never even knew or believed existed."
"So, I guess I was reading you wrong. I thought you were ready to discuss this. You just want to keep denying what you feel," V stood up.
Jungkook took a deep breath, "Wait."
V folded his arms.
"I feel that connection you're talking about, too. I'm not denying it, okay? I'm just having a hard time understanding it. I know it's magic or maybe a chemical reaction of some sort," he flattened his hand across his chest over his heart for emphasis, "Things are happening when you… feed. Even when you look at me, things I can't articulate. It ruined me the last few days, thinking about the things you'd said, the pain on your face. Ruined. I've never felt so much pain, never, not even when..."
Jungkook didn't finish that sentence but continued, "You say I'm not entranced but I can't imagine it. It feels like I am under a spell. First, try to understand this thing from my perspective. I got snatched and dropped on your lap. I may have Stockholm syndrome or something else fvcking me in the head right now. I just… I'm a wreck. I'm a mess that I can't think straight. Being without you the last few days was painful. I understand the addiction part. Yes, I felt and experienced it. But I know it's something else too, something deeper than addiction and withdrawal. That's fvcking messed up and scary for someone like me… Someone who has controlled their reactions and avoided emotion… for most of my life. I don't know how to feel, V."
They were both quiet for a minute, V was staring at the floor, "And no, I don't want to keep hurting you," he whispered.
Jungkook didn't typically talk about feelings, heck, he didn't even feel his feelings, it was like he was waking up after being numb for a long time - All that time with his thoughts and emotions was forcing him to face his feelings.
"We're real, Jungkook. We are. And... if you don't want to hurt me then stop running," V sat down, "I don't want you afraid of me, I want you safe. And you are you. This. You telling me how you feel. I like it. You want this connection as much as I do. Just embrace it. Whether it's magic or chemistry or something else entirely, it feels like it could be something amazing, doesn't it?"
Jungkook twisted a loose bang nervously, "I am afraid of you... of how you make me feel, of what you might be capable of. Part of me wants to run and hide, the other wants to run straight to you and I don't know how to deal with those conflicting emotions."
"Afraid? You do a pretty good job of hiding your fear. If I couldn't see past that armour…"
"But then... when you're not mad at me, you eye fuck me and…"
V looked at Jungkook, head tilted, a little smirk spreading across his face and lighting up his eyes.
Jungkook clarified, "You hold me prisoner with those icy blue eyes. I can't help it, I just... I melt."
V chewed his cheek for a second, "Talk like that and we won't finish this conversation."
Jungkook shrugged, "I belong in an insane asylum."
V let out a low whistle and strolled to the dresser, pouring drinks, "Ditto. You've avoided emotion, I've been incapable of feeling emotion. I've forgotten how it is to learn about things they have taught you were myths. And I'm so used to people bending to my will and you're just so…" He didn't finish, "I have this ego, a sense of entitlement that's part of me. I know I sound like an elitist but I'm groomed to be this way, entitled, arrogant, a 'megalomaniac,' as you'd put it, but cold and unfeeling, never happy. I'm having trouble explaining this because it's unfamiliar to me, but I know that I'm changing ever since I met you. I feel your feelings every minute of the day. I'm dealing with all these," he made a pained face, "I'm trying to not let it drive me crazy, Jungkook, but sometimes it's damn close, this feeling that goes deeply... I haven't truly felt much of anything in a decade. Now I feel so much."
V passed him a glass and continued, "All this is a lot for me to deal with, too. My life as a vampire has been busy, learning my role, and fulfilling my duties, all while trying to satisfy my urges. I kept craving, not knowing what I was craving and not finding anything to satiate it and then one day... I tasted you. For the first time, I found what I needed, and I craved you. I feel you. I want you… I need you."
