Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

The members of their team could still see each other or keep in contact with each other after they pull their last heist tonight but they chose not to for the same reason they didn't know their team members names. It was safer that way. If one of them got caught by any of the dangerous people they had stolen from in the past, they wouldn't be able to give information about the rest of the team because they didn't know anything about them… well they knew each other's favorite food, drink and song but none of them could be found through that kind of information.

Lillian and Gerald were the only ones that would stay together after today.

"Sweet set up," Rodney stated as he sat at the white table which had laptops on it and opened one of the devices while Whitney took the seat next to him, nodding in agreement to his statement.

"What's sweet about it? We've been set up in better places," Perry said to Rodney as he plopped down on a couch that wasn't far from the table that had laptops on it while Rodney turned on the laptop he had opened.

Perry and Rodney both had black short hair, tanned skin and green eyes and they easily passed as siblings. Gerald and Lillian often said that they picked on each other like siblings and they always pretended to not like hearing that. The difference between the both of them was that Perry had more muscles than Rodney.

Whitney laughed because he knew that when Rodney said 'sweet set up', he was talking about the laptops. Gadgets, basically anything electronic, were the only things that interested Rodney… well women interested him too but gadgets were number one for him.

Rodney and Whitney had hooked up a few times and he was always doey-eyed whenever he stared at her so everyone had been quite surprised when they learnt that the both of them wouldn't be staying together like Gerald and Lillian. It was quite obvious that Rodney wanted to stay with her though. He had asked her out a couple of times over the past two years and she always turned him down because she didn't want to mix feelings with work… but honestly, she had told Lillian that she really liked him.

The laptops, dude. You should know me by now," Rodney replied without glancing at Perry and Perry mumbled something under his breath as he lay down on the couch.

Whitney had black curly hair and dark olive skin tone. She was the prettiest woman in the team and that was one of the reasons she was the smooth operator. Her looks charmed both men and women before her words did and that was how they always easily got past human obstacles.

Rodney began to run a program on the laptop after it came on and Lillian saw something that looked like blueprints. She then realized that the blueprints were of the building they would be pulling a heist in tonight.

It wasn't just any building, it was the Mortenson Manor and it was more than fifty years old. Everyone in the team had seen the picture of the Mortenson family except for Lillian because she had been to busy getting entranced by what they were stealing.

They were stealing a golden staff which had a red ruby at the top. Lillian had seen the pictures of the object a few times and without thinking of the market price - she always judged the beauty of objects by their prices on the market - the object was extremely beautiful. She remembered the way she had stretched her hand out to touch the picture of the object when they found out that was what they would be stealing. The picture had held her captive for a while before she heard Gerald say that it was work trillions on the market.

They were getting paid twenty eight billion to steal it, four billion for each of them, and since that was way less than what their client was going to sell it for, they had thought of stealing it for themselves. But then they realized that they would definitely be caught by the owners while trying to sell it or the buyer would probably kill them after they handed it over. Both options were terrible so they just settled for the twenty eight billion. Besides, that was also a lot of money…

"I need to check on what he's doing," Gerald said as he gestured at Rodney and Lillian nodded in response while he placed a kiss to the side of her head before she let him go.

A smile grew on his face as he stared at her and she couldn't help but smile back as he ran his hands up and down her arms. "I can't wait for tomorrow to come," he muttered as she stared into his gray eyes while playing with the ends of his light brown hair.

Her smile grew even bigger because she knew he was talking about them finally living the life they had always dreamed about.

No more stealing, no more danger, no more looking over their shoulders every time they step out of a building. Just the both of them and forever.

They would be going to a country with no extraditions because they had committed numerous crimes here and could no longer stay here.

"I can't wait either," she replied and her placed his hand on the side of her face, stroking his thumb on her skin, before he pressed his lips to hers, giving her a quick, sweet kiss. He tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear after he pulled away from her and stared at her for a little while more before moving away from her.

"Rodney, what are you doing?" he called out as he walked over to Rodney whose fingers were flying over the keyboard. He stopped next to Rodney's seat and placed a hand on his shoulder while hunching over to stare at the laptop's screen.
