Lillian's smile grew even bigger because she knew Gerald was talking about them finally living the life they had always dreamed about.
No more stealing, no more danger, no more looking over their shoulders every time they step out of a building. Just the both of them and forever.
The both of them would be going to a country with no extraditions because they had committed numerous crimes here and could no longer stay here.
"I can't wait either," she replied and her placed his hand on the side of her face, stroking his thumb on her skin, before he pressed his lips to hers, giving her a quick, sweet kiss. He tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear after he pulled away from her and stared at her for a little while more before moving away from her.
"Rodney, what are you doing?" Gerald called out as he walked over to Rodney whose fingers were flying over the keyboard. He stopped next to Rodney's seat and placed a hand on his shoulder while hunching over to stare at the laptop's screen.
"I'm calibrating the -"
"In English please," Gerald cut him off and Whitney let out a snort just as Lillian picked up Gerald's backpack from the floor. Her stomach rumbled and she remembered she hadn't eaten anything since morning because she had been nervous about this being their last job together.
She glanced around the room and saw that there were snacks on the glass dining table before she began to head towards it.
"Olivia, what's up?" Lillian said, a small smile on her face, as she walked past Olivia who was sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall, with a stoic expression on her face.
"Stupid dumb last heist and last time together," Olivia replied and Lillian instantly came to a stop. She had only said 'what's up?' to be polite but now she wanted to talk to her because she was glad to know that she wasn't the only one feeling that way.
"Oh, um…" she trailed off after she turned around and took in a deep breath as she walked back to where Olivia was.
Olivia had dark blue wavy hair - her original hair colour was red but she liked dying her hair occasionally - and her eyes were dark brown while her skin was pale. She was the second prettiest in the team and Lillian was well… she was the last.
She had brown hair and brown eyes, light olive skin tone, and one of those faces that didn't live a lasting impression on someone. Her real name was Rose and that was exactly what she looked like… a rose… a plain rose. Sometimes, she was surprised that Gerald even liked her.
Lillian dropped Gerald's backpack on the floor and sat next to Olivia while letting out a harsh breath. The ground was cool and Lillian stretched her legs out in front of her, crossing them at the ankles.
Olivia sighed softly as she stared at the people in the room. Gerald, Whitney and Rodney by the table which had laptops on it, Perry laying on the chair with his eyes closed but not actually sleeping and Zander standing by the table and stuffing doughnuts into his mouth as fast as he could.
Olivia sneered at Zander and gave him a once over just as he turned to face the direction she and Lillian were in. "Gobble, gobble," she announced as she mimicked stuffing things into her mouth and he grinned at her before raising his can of soda in cheers. "You eat like you're the flash sometimes and you're only a get away driver. Sometimes we don't even need to get away so it's just the normal miles per hour you drive at."
Zander had a fuck boy look about him… toto be honest, all the guys in the group had that look about themselves. He had blue eyes, blonde hair and bronze tanned skin. He also had toned muscles from his regular sparring and hitting the gym with Perry.
All the guys in the team could have been models or actors. They all had degrees from prestigious schools so they could be basically be anything else but they had chosen to join a heist team.
Gerald was the one who created the team - being the mastermind and all - and he found Zander at an illegal racing track after the cops arrived to arrest some of the drivers. Whitney had charmed Gerald into given her money - not a small amount by the way - and into telling him what he did for a living. Olivia had been trying to break into Gerald's safe in his safe house. Rodney was an old friend of Gerald's from high school. Perry had been working with a security company before and Gerald met him at a bar. And finally, Gerald met Lillian in a circus she had been an aerial performer at.
He didn't recruit Lillian solely because she was an aerial performer, he recruited her because she was really flexible, couldn't be caught easily while running from someone, and she knew how to stay out of a CCTV's view. She had learnt how to sneak past motion detectors and through lasers from someone from another heist team.
Zander gave Olivia and Lillian a dopey grin as he closed the box of doughnuts and turned his seat to face them before leaning back on it like he was watching a stripper twirl around a pole. "When we do need to get away which we would probably be doing tonight, my body is fused with the car and mind you… My baby is faster than that flash… whatever person. We're fused so I always burn calories then… Hence the need to keep my energy up."
He winked at her and she tsked just as Perry who had opened his eyes and was currently staring at Zander with furrowed brows called out in a not so low volume, "What the fuck does that even mean?"
