UNEXPECTED STRANGER (2)
Kaleigh stepped back after seeing Stalane's reaction. He was about to say something but he hold it in instead.
He turned to the direction where Syton and the others were supposed to be. Stalane was still shocked at what Kaleigh did thus she doesn't realized where he was looking at. She only figured it out when Kaleigh mentioned it.
"You've made a lot of friends, huh?" Kaleigh said.
Stalane become more serious at what he said. Does he plan to attack them just like what he did to her back then?
"What are you doing here?" Stalane asked again.
Kaleigh showed a small smirk, "I told you already before right? I'm an assassin. I just cleaned up some mess"
Stalane remembered what Amoura said before. She becomes more nervous and started to doubt Kaleigh's identity.
"By the way, have you found the book that I was talking about?" Kaleigh asked.
Stalane shook her head. "No. What's that book all about anyway?"
"It's a skill book"
"You're already strong enough and yet you still need a skill book?"
"It's not for me" Kaleigh said before he turned his back from Stalane. He started walking towards the direction where the others was.
"Introduce me to your friend so we could finish up your quest quickly" Kaleigh said while walking.
Stalane followed him. "Do you know how to catch the prince fish?"
Kaleigh glanced at her before he shrugged, "It's simple"
Stalane rolled her eyes. "Of course. Everything is easy for you"
She took a quick peek at Kaleigh when she thought that she heard him chuckled. But when she looked at him, his face was serious just like how it always been.
"Why did you show up anyway? I thought you'll only see me if I killed someone? Although I almost did, that doesn't count since they didn't died. Syton was the one who actually beat them up" Stalane asked as she recalled the 8 bravers who attacked her.
Kaleigh got alert with what Stalane said. Stalane almost want to gulp at how Kaleigh was releasing such immense aura. Did she made him mad?
"That 8 bravers..." Kaleigh started.
Stalane also notice how Kaleigh was clenching his fist tightly. So she hurriedly explained.
"Before you say anything, those 8 attacked me first. I didn't kill them nor Syton did. We don't even know what happened to them after they fell unconscious. I'm innocent, okay?"
Kaleigh checked Stalane using his peripheral vision, before he let out a small sigh.
"Did they told you that it was for a quest?" Kaleigh tried to soften his voice so he won't scare Stalane.
Stalane, who was worried about Kaleigh's mood but was too prideful to let it show, tried to nod as calm as she could.
"Those bastards..." Kaleigh cursed where Stalane wouldn't hear.
"How did you know?" Stalane asked as she thought it was too suspicious for Kaleigh to ask such a sharp and direct question.
Kaleigh shook his head. "Don't worry about it too much. I'll take care of everything. If you come across with a same situation, you can freely kill them. Especially if it's for your safety. You are only ban for killing innocent people"
Stalane was surprised and was confused at the same time. Nevertheless, it made Stalane smiled.
"You don't have to tell me who to kill or not. You're not my boss. Besides, I'm well aware of who my targets are. Or should I call it my prey?"
"That reminds me, didn't you also told me before that I was now your prey?" Kaleigh asked as he remembered how Stalane threatened him before.
Stalane was speechless when Kaleigh reminded her.
"I think I also mentioned that will only happen if I'm already stronger. For now, it's too clear how big our gap is" Stalane said.
Kaleigh hummed to agree with her. "Hmm. But you're growing a lot more faster than anyone else other than Syton. Well, that is already expected of you."
Stalane furrowed her brows at the mention of Syton's name.
"You know, Syton?" Stalane asked.
Kaleigh knew it was a slip of his tongue. But he doesn't want to lie to Stalane so he told her the truth.
"Yes. Although, he probably doesn't know me. He is one of the person I'm keeping my eyes on, besides you"
"Keeping your eyes on..." Stalane repeated his words in a daze.
Kaleigh slightly curled his lips into a smile, he did not say anything further. Stalane also knew that she shouldn't probe anymore, even if she was curious since it has something to do with them.

"I'm amazed how you get along really well with Stalane. Aren't you scared with her?" Blaze asked Syton as they sat down to prepare for fishing.
Syton scratched his cheek. He felt like he just got complimented on.
"Well, she is like a little stubborn kitty?"
Both Blaze and Kerin turned to look at Syton in disbelief. Are he serious?
"Are your eyes still functioning properly?" Kerin asked worriedly.
Syton got stunned at his question. Thus, Syton waved his hands in front of his own eyes.
"I think so?" he said as he tried to ride on Kerin's joke.
Syton puts his right hand on his waist, while his left hand was on his chin.
"But seriously speaking, Stalane is really the perfect partner I could've asked for. We worked together very well. I don't even have to tell her what she needs to do and yet she already catches up what I want her to do. She supports me in battle and she's also good as the main damage dealer. If it's a coffee, you could say she's a 3-in-1 already!" He said in a serious manner, as if thinking carefully every words he's gonna say.
Both Kerin and Blaze looked at each other. Later on, they both nodded to Syton's statement.
"Well, I guess that's true. I mean, she was really cool when we first met her. But, we just still feel so very distant from her" Blaze said.
Syton laughed. "Don't worry about it too much. Stalane is just like that. When you get to know more about her, you'll see how fun it is to tease her"
"Ah... Ha-ha" Kerin and Blaze both laughed awkwardly.
They both think that only Syton could pull that off to someone like Stalane.
