We all got out of Simons van and walked towards the entrance of the City of Bones
"Yeah this place isn't creepy, not at all." Simon said looking around
"Is poor little Simon scared." I asked
Simon scoffs "Are you kidding me? I was born afraid... which sounded better in my head." Izzy chuckles and i look up at Simon and snort
"Lets check it out." Alec said to Jace as he turned around to walk further into the City ."Stay here." He told me and Clary
After Alec and Jace disappear somewhere to check it out we stay in silence for a while until Simon starts up our argument from before again.
"Why are we doing this?" Simon asked us "We don't even know these people." Non of us reply
CLary sighs "I just wish mum had trusted me enough to tell me about all this."
"What wrong Simon?" I ask
"How are you two not ultra freaked out by all of this?" He asked
"Because im not a pussy... no offence." I say and they shake there heads at me
"I guess i just always felt like there was something missing, some void I couldn't quite explain, things are finally starting to make sense." Clary told him "But none of its gonna matter unless i get my mum back."
"Then lets do that." He said confident
"Clary, Hayley come on its all clear." Jace called out to us
"Lets go." Clary said walking forward and grabbing his hand, Simon stopped and looked at them.
"Sorry S dog but I don't think you have a chance with her but... Izzy did say you were kind of nerd-hot." I said looking at him he didn't say anything but i saw him smile.
"You coming." Jace called again and we started to walk forwards
"You have to understand the Silent Brothers aren't like us." Blondy said to Clary
"They lack your charm and superior people skills." I say sarcastically
'Yeah most people do. The Brothers communicate without using there words, but using there thoughts."
"That doesn't sound so bad." Clary commented
"Don't let there silence fool you, they'll hold the Soul-Sword above your head and with its blade carve the truth from your mind, if your not strong enough you will die."
"I take it back that sounds level ten bad." Clary said
"Clary you should know the pain will be excruciating, you don't have to..."
"Ill do anything, walk through fire, battle demons whatever it takes, i have to get my mum back i cant... I not lose her." Clary told him
"You wont, we wont." Jace said
'Would you two just make out already your killing me." I say making Clary blush and Jace roll his eyes. "On a serious note though you'll be fine CLary trust me your just as strong as Jocelyn is and shes one of the strongest people i know." I say and she pulls me into a tight hug.
We stopped at the doors
Clary sighs "I can do this."
"Yeah you can, your CLary fricken Fray, you can do anything." Simon smiled at her
"Simon" I say patting him on the shoulder "I already gave her a pep talk don't take this away from me." I hear Alec laugh something he should really do more often
"All right hold up." Jace said putting his arm out to stop Simon
"Surprise, surprise no mundanes allowed just like in the training room right? Wrong!, I've seen every horror movie ever made and the funny best friend who gets left behind... dead man." He said making Izzy laugh
"You're not that funny." Jace said
"He has a point though." I add
"By all means go ahead." Simon starts to walk "Of course the minute you enter you'll die." Jace completes
"Problem is know I don't trust you." S dog said
"He's not lying." Alec said
"Now, he was before." Izzy adds
"The rune energy in the City of Bones will kill any mundane who dares to enter, so please..." ALec says his voice has sarcasm in it at the end.
Izzy sighs "The Brothers scare creep me out. Ill mind the mundane."
"Your sacrifice is noted Izzy."Jace said walking to the entrance of the tomb
"Talk about sacrifice. I'm missing my financial analysis class." Simon told me and Clary
"Yeah well im missing my self defence class which is, i think, more important." I tell him
"I cant be here anymore." Alec said pointing to Simon "So, Jace im gonna go mind the perimeter." He says starting to walk off
"Wait Alec." I call out to him "I'm comin with you I don't wanna be a third wheel for these to." I say pointing to Simon and Izzy, i wink at them and Alec keeps walking away from me.
"Alec wait up." I call but he just keeps walking "Can you fucking wait for two seconds." He turns around and looks at me, i jog to catch up with him.
"You can come with me as long as you stop talking." He says with a sigh, i nod my head in agreement we walk in silence for a bit longer until i cant take it any longer.
"So do you have a girlfriend?" I ask him he glares and doesn't answer "Boyfriend?" He keeps glaring "Ill start singing as loud as i can if you don't answer." He looks at me for a couple of seconds and then i open my mouth but before i can start singing he walks up to me and puts his hand over my mouth.
He takes his hand of my mouth "If all i had to do was threaten to start singing to get you close to me i would have done ages ago, ill have to keep that in mind for next time." I tell him he ignores me and turns around
"I don't have a girlfriend." He tells me
"Boyfriend then."
"I'm straight if that's what your asking." He says
"Perfect, now I don't have any one to compete with." I say smirking at him, he starts walking away "Hey! Where are you going."
"We should head back theyll probably by done with the Silent Brothers soon." He says and keeps walking
As we get near the tomb Clary and Jace went in i hear footsteps and someone crying Clary!, I see CLary and JAce walking down the steps
"Are you okay?" I say jogging over to her and pulling her into a hug, she nods her head
"What happened? What did you find out?" Alec asks turning to look at Jace
"Hayley is a Herondale and... Valentine is Clary's father." Blondy answered
"Wait a minute, you're telling me this girl shows up out of nowhere and shes Valentines daughter? Did it occur to you that she might be a spy? This might be part of their plan?" Alec asked angrily, I looked at him he is unbelievable.
"That's enough Alec." Jace warned him, i stood up and walked over to Alec
"Do you honestly think that Clary planned for Jocelyn to get kidnapped? Or for Dot to be kidnapped? Or for CLary to be taken to the Silent Brothers that could possibly kill to find out how to get her mother back. Does it look like shes happy that her father is one of the most dangerous people in the world." I tell him angrily standing up for Clary she smiles at me.
"Where's Simon?" Clary asked changing the subject
"He's with Izzy." I tell her
"Where's SImon?" Clary asks again seeing Izzy come back alone
"I told him to stay in the van. Ive searched everywhere." She said
"You mean he gone?" Clary asked
"I cant find him." She shakes her head
CLary sighs "You were supposed to protect him!" She yelled her voice shaking, Clary starts to walk away searching for Simon
I walk over to Izzy "Don't take it personally." I say hugging her "She's just been through a lot the last couple of days."
She nods her head
"Simon! Simon!" I hear CLary yell
"Ugh, these mundanes are killing me." I hear Jace murmur to Alec
We hear a different voice "Is that the mundanes name?" I hear a familiar voice say fuck i look at CLary and she nods, i turn around and look at Raphael "Im afraid Simons coming with us."
"Raphael." I say he turns to look at me "Long time no see." I say
"My sweet Hayley what are you doing with." He says pointing to the other shadowhunters
"Don't call me that, i broke up with you remember." I can fell the other shadowhunters look at me as i say this "You were to clingy, I don't like clingy boyfriends." I tell him
He snarles at me "I wouldn't suggest making me angry right know i might just drop your little friend here." He says and i raise my hands in surrender taking a step back
"No! No he's not part of this." Clary says panicking
"And it will be my pleasure to kill you unless you return him." Jace threatens
"Careful, wed be violating the Accords." Alec reminds Blondy
"I'm afraid your sidekick is quite right." Raphael calls down to us "The Night Children have broken no laws, were negotiating, the mundane, unharmed in exchange for the Mortal Cup, and the clock is ticking, tick tick, people."
"Clary, Hayley." Simon yells before thay disappear
"Simon... no." Clary starts to calll again but its to late he's already long gone.
"Well in my plan of the day i have to say i was not expecting to see him." I tell them and CLary glares at me.
