"There you are." I say turning the corner to find Clary sitting on the stairs at the end of the hallway. "Are you okay?"
"I saw my mum." She answered still staring at the wall "Then Alec."
"I told her." Izzy said walking up behind me "and believe me, there have been many times where i wanted to kill Alec." Clary looks at her and sighs, Izzy goes to sit next her and i stand in front of them "Look i know my brother can be a real pain in the ass."
"Which is unfortunate because he has a great one." Izzy shook her head and Clary giggled
"Anyway, he means well." Izzy says "The necklace is dangerous."
"Ill take the risk on my own." Clary said
"That's the problem you're not on your own." Izzy stated
"Ive always got your back Clary, you're not on your own." I say smiling at her
"I just." Clary paused "I wish i knew what to do."
"I know what you mean ." I tell her
"Ill do anything to save her." She says looking up at me
"I get it." Izzy said smiling at Clary "You love her."
"More than anything." Clary states
Izzy sat up straighter "What's your mum like?"
"Fun." Clary says "the kind of person you always want to be around." She laughs "My friends always used to want to hang out at my house, just to hang out with her."
Izzy laughed "Sounds more like a friend than a mum."
"She was both." Clary said looking down at the floor
"She basically sacrificed her life for me." Clary said "And im willing to do the same for her."
Izzy looked at CLary "Just because you cant have the necklace, doesn't mean you wont see her again." There was silence for a second "Walk with me?" Izzy said grabbing me and Clarys and hands "Tell me everything about her."
We walked to the entrance of the Institute and stopped at the front door. "So, Alec blew right by you and did what he wanted, I'd be angry too." Izzy announced
"He took the only way i had to see my mother." Clary said pressing the button to open the doors "Plus, he kept asking what Valentines room looked like."
"He was interested in Valentines style?" Izzy said in a teasing tone "Fascinating."
"No." Clary cut in "He thought i might have seen something that could help us find him."
"And did you?" I asked
Clary shook her head "I didn't see anything there but... i think i might know another way."
Suddenly the door started to shine purple and a middle aged woman stepped through "Isabelle." She said as the door closed behind her, the woman had the same hair as Izzy but it was pulled into a tight ponytail "dressed to impress, i see." Izzy immediately looked down. The woman walked up to us "And you've been playing with the family heirlooms." Bitch I think to myself
"I think you'll find Mags gave her the necklace." I sass the chick glares at me but doesn't say anything
"Hi, im Clary Fray." She says smiling
"Clary Fairchild." she corrected "You look just like your mother and you..." The woman said "Look just like your father." She said disgusted fuck this bitch
"Okay, i dont know who died and made you Queen and to be honest i dont give two shits, but you dont get to talk about my father like that Bitch."
"I suggest you stop talking." She said clenching her jaw
"Did you guys hear that buzzing... i think there's a bee in here." I say in a sickly sweet voice
"We know all about both of you in Idris." I glared at her as she studied both of us
"Idris?" Clary questioned
"The shadowhunter homeland." Izzy informed her "If you think the Institute is well hidden, wait until you see that place." Izzy turned to the woman "How's Max? We miss him." She looked at both of us "Little brother, cute but clingy. Kinda Simon-ish."
The older woman replied "Roberts picking him up at the Mumbai Institute." She didn't give anyone time to say anything "where's Jace? We have a situation that has to be handled now." The woman walked past the three of us, when she was nearly down the hall Izzy spoke up.
"Well that's my mum." I felt bad for her
We followed bitch face into the training room, she watched Jace train and the three of us stayed behind "Is your mum always like that?" Clary asked "she didn't even hug you."
Izzy let out a chuckle and smirked "Shadowhunters aren't big huggers." As soon as she finished saying this Jace finished training.
"Maryse." The woman walked up to Jace and pulled him into a hug, i felt bad for Izzy so i put my arm around her shoulders. "Hey its great to see you.' Blondy pulled away "How's everyone in Idris? Where's uh... where's Max?"
"No Max." I answer for Izzy seeing the frown on her face "Just the bitch." I say giving Maryse a smile." Maryse glares at me again
"I love how shadowhunters share." Clary joked as we walked over to the two "A hidden brother and a secret country."
"Mother welcome back, we didn't expect you." Alec says as she hugs him, i tighten my arm around Izzy shoulder and she leans her head on me
"You should be prepared whether you expect me or not." Alec's mother stated and i snort but she ignores me
Alec moves to stand beside Jace "I am, we are." Alec corrected.
"We'lol talk about the institute later ." Maryse spoke casually "right now, we have bigger problem, the Seelies have stopped communicating with the Clave and wont explain why." she said walking around the room "My guess is they're still upset we asked them to send scouts to look for Valentine."
"I have Seelie friends." Izzy tells her mother
"Yes i know about your friends." She said degradingly, the bitch stepped closer to Izzy and me "Isabelle we stay seperate from the downworlders for good reasons, the word god move, the wrong word." She trailed off "Do you think there such a thing as harmless rebellion?" Izzy looked down but i kept my arm around her shoulders "Who knows what offends these creatures? Maybe you told him..." She stopped herself "Them... something they shouldn't know." I gave Maryse a look "Maybe you trod on one of their ridiculous customs with out knowing it."
"You seriously think this is Izzys fault... I didn't put know someone could be such a bitch, actually no your just as big a bitch as Britney Taylor." i hear Clary try and cover her laugh with a cough but it doesn't work "I ended up punching that bitch in the face ." I tell Maryse
"I suggest you stop talking ." Maryse says to me
"Ill try i promise." I say sarcastically
"Wait, wait." I turned to look at Jace "I dont understand, you're laying all of this on Izzy for having a friend in the downworld?" Go Jace
Bitch face turned to look at Jace "When someone upsets the natural order, everything falls apart."

"I can help." Izzy speaks up "I know how to talk to Seelies."
"Shes right." Alec finically speaks up "She can visit Meliorn and see what he knows, i could go with her if yo want."
"I'd rather Jace goes along this time." Maryese states putting her hand on his shoulder "Alec, you stay with the Fairchild and Herondale girls. I want them under control, seeing as they've already caused enough trouble."
"Maybe that's because. Wasn't even a shadowhunter until a few days ago." Clary tells her
"And what an exciting few days its been." Maryse says really bitch
"Just so you know you cant tell me or Clary what to do and you definitely cant make me stay here, so imma go get some Maccas or something, I I really dont give a shit if you dont want me out of Alec's sight." I say and her face turns red from anger, Alec walks up behind me and puts his arm around my waist pulling me into his chest he whispers in my ear "Calm down Hayley." I take a deep breath and smile sweetly at Maryse, she looks down at Alec arm around my waist and glares at me.
"The Clave counts on us Lightwoods to maintain order here." She says dropping the matter
I roll my eyes at Bitch face and lean into Alec's chest
"If the mission is that important i want to go with Izzy." Clary says
Maryse laughs at that "Your all so eager to do what you would prefer." She spits out "its time to face the truth, life is not about what you want to do, its about what must be done." I snort at her comment who does she think she is... the fucking Queen "I have given you your assignments now carry them out." She turns and points to Izzy and Jace "you and you with me know."
After they left Clary walked over to Alec and I "Well that was a window into the weird, what did you do to piss your mum off? And why does she hate me and Hayley do much?"
"I'd guess for a start..." Alec moved is arm from my waist and started to walk away me and Clary following slightly behind "all the unsanctioned missions the both of you started didn't go over big with the clave." Me and Clary stopped walking but he kept going
"Well mama lightwood is one mean bitch." I say just loud enough for the retreating Alec to hear
