ARGH!"
Crow woke up in a major panic, jumping out of his bed and adapting a horse stance, still remembering the fear he had faced the previous night. He was sure he had died, he didn't remember much after he got that feeling of death.
When he calmed down, he felt his body making sure that it was still intact only to find out that he had somehow gotten into his bed.
He couldn't be mistaken right? Those Gray walls with all sorts of décor hung upon them. His collection of things went way past posters. From a mini bookshelf to what seemed like… A hanger for clothes? One couldn't be sure.
Were the events of last night really just a dream?
He looked around him, everything from the way the clothes were scattered unto the floor to the dirtied gray walls. He felt at home. It must have really been a dream, how could there be monsters and flying humans in reality?
"Crow breakfast is ready!"
He heard the familiar nagging voice of his mother that resounded morning, reminding him to not lazy about, in the mornings.
He got off the bed entering the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash his face before he went down.
"Morning Ma, Pa, little devil." Crow sat around the table playing with a ball he picked up from his room, as he waited for his portion to be served. He watched the little demon of a sister he had, devour her food in silence.
"You little- Why do you always wake up so late?" Anna rubbed her brows in frustration. This boy was always so tiring she had called him up to four times before he got down those stairs.
"Ma, you wouldn't believe the sort of dream I had, dad was like killed by some creature but all of a sudden he was fine and shooting lightning out of his fists. And like I almost died several…" Crow went on explaining the dream. It was much too vivid to keep to himself.
"Crow wake up…"
"Huh? What was that?" Crow looked towards his mother. He could swear he heard her say something.
Now that he thought about it, something about this atmosphere seemed a little off. His home was usually a lot rowdier than this. That sister of his would never leave him to ramble on about nonsense for so long.
"Crow."
He turned to face his father who had been sitting on the side reading the newspaper. Putting the newspaper down, he heard his father say once more.
"Wake up."
…
Plop!
Crow's eyes shot open, his breath becoming heavy. He looked around the cave with vigilance. Another drop of water, leaving the ceiling and falling into the lake where he lay.
Plop!
'Where am I?' Crow looked around cautiously, ensuring that his surroundings are safe. When he figured out where he was, his tension eased.
'Sigh, it really wasn't a dream.'
After looking around a little longer he jumped unto his feet, or at least he tried to, but fell, before being met by the stream of pain that came rolling back. Almost knocking him out in the process.
'Ahh! I guess this lake doesn't have healing properties after all.' He wanted to scream out, because the pain was really too much, but he didn't want to give away his location by accident, so he kept quiet, enduring it.
He could count sheep to take his mind off it.
Though he did feel betrayed. He remembered those Japanese graphic novels his dad forced him to read, and every single time there was a mysterious lake that would heal all the wounds of the protagonist.
It was either he wasn't the protagonist or his childhood was a lie. He felt it right to bet more on the latter. How could this adorable looking face not be the protagonist?
It was illogical.
Well at least his clothes were sort of clean from the water?
'Wait!'
He looked down at his clothes, his eyes widening. Why, were his clothes clean? One would question what he meant, but that was only if they didn't understand the situation.
He wasn't too sure of the events of last light night, but he was sure he came in here bloodied. Nobody knew, but that sneak attack did reach him. Clawing into his back, leaving bloodied marks.
He could not remember exactly what happened after that, he just remembered escaping here only to fall into this lake, fainting afterwards.
Yet despite his wounds not having healed just yet, there wasn't a single blood stain on him nor his clothes.
"Strange."
The cave was really big. He used to come here whenever he wanted to be alone as a kid, or swim in the water when he was bored. The lake's diameter shouldn't have been longer than 10 meters but it was rather shallow so he had no worries of drowning.
'Click.'
Crow's head turned, his eyes regaining their vigilance, causing a silver light to flow over them. He gazed towards the now open creek at that other side of the lake. There seemed to be something hidden there.
He hesitated.
He didn't know what was behind it. Why should be risk his life to check it out. He didn't know the status of his parents nor sibling.
He couldn't die here.
He slowly got out of the water and was already heading towards the entrance of the cave. He thought he heard his dad say something about the cabin o so. He had to check it out.
Then he remembered seeing something similar in those graphic novels. 'Wherever there was danger there was an opportunity to take advantage of.'
He stopped in his tracks.
Wasn't this just running away again? Why did he believe his life would be peaceful after this? He had already promised himself he would face everything head on.
He couldn't do much of anything now anyway. So he might as well take the risk right? He had to test this mythical plot armor that constantly saved the lives of those heroes.
So he changed direction, walking towards the creek. Today he would decide his fate. 'Guide me master Naruto!'
From a limp he walked, then ran until fell face first into the water, He closed his eyes and he tried to gain stability, flailing around. When he opened them again the world around him had changed.
Crow looked around with shock in his eyes.
'Thank you master Naruto!'
[Author's Note: I had a lot of fun writing this one. It was just outright stupid. Lol.]
