Chapter 10 - A Cabin (2)

Crow grinned. How could he not understand what his father was implying? He would make sure to teach this woman a lesson she would regret. He wasn't sure but from the looks of things, he should be very talented yes? He would make sure he extorted her.

Crow let out a mischievous smile.

'What is this kid thinking?' Theodore raised a brow at his son's expression. It seemed like he had already found something to entertain himself. He felt sorry for the poor soul outside.

Of course, he hadn't connected who she was to how she had introduced herself. So he wasn't too bothered. He only knew one person with that title and she wouldn't be here.

'Achu!' Mistress Divine rubbed her nose, for some reason she felt as if someone was planning her downfall… Hmm, it was probably all in her head.

She continued smashing the boulders in the surroundings with a flick of her finger. Surely she wasn't going to sit down doing nothing while she waited right? This landscape really needed some terraforming anyway.

"So father…"Crow looked towards Theodore. He felt it was finally time to get down to business. He knew his father wouldn't have told him to come here for something as petty as verifying he was alive.

Since he had said Crow would escape that day, he would. He felt no need to come verify such. So If not that, why was he here?

"Right." Theodore moved Crow away slightly, before he assumed a certain seriousness. It was time he got down to the task he set this avatar aside for.

He stretched forth his hand, placing it atop Crow's head, crowning it. He ruffled Crow's hair slightly, making Crow pout, but he eventually got down to business.

"Crow remember. You are part of the Walker family, your mother and sister are safe with me. Make sure not to demean our family name.

"Also I have finished creating a safe environment for you on this world, Urath, you will feel despair. Do not leave unless you are ready."

His body seemed to be covered in some sort of blue light before he commanded.

"Visualize." His voice wasn't loud nor was it a whisper.

Crow who had been standing there awkwardly, suddenly felt his body jerk backwards. He had thought he would fall, yet was somehow suspended in the same state, leaving a strange scene for the eyes.

A strange force seemingly departing from Theodore and entering into Crow.

Information seemed to flood Crow's mind, his body and brain hardly able to keep up, but once again the silver light kept him stable.

"As a parting gift till we meet again, I will grant you a basic understanding of our world. If you cannot make do with this then I would be thoroughly disappointed.

"I have set aside some special books that are contained in this cabin that will help u greatly. You may choose to read them or not.

"Goodbye for now Crow Walker. And remember, do not disappoint me." Theodore let out a stern voice that commanded authority.

His voice eventually started to fade, Leaving Crow who was in a strange trance, to fall to the ground. Or at least he would have, if an invisible force didn't ensure that he landed softly on the ground.

Mistress Divine narrowed her eyes, as she ensured that Crow was unharmed. She looked at the surroundings, she could swear she had sensed the presence of another person in here. So why did she see only Crow?

The Cabin seemed to have let her in after the commotion died down. Was it sentient? She raised a brow.

She looked at the changed interior of the cabin. Well to be honest it looked more like a library, but there was more to it than meets the eye. She just had to find out what it was.

But the Cabin really had undergone a transformation. It looked like a hundred square meter room, filled with… books? There were bright lights providing optimum luminance for reading. There was also what seemed like flower vases and painting. They seemed to just be there for aesthetic.

But they had a tinge of artistry that helped improve one's meditation.

There was an old wooden ladder for one to reach the books that were too far up, but from the looks of it anyone who stood on it who probably break it with their body weight alone.

Mistress Divine Forgot about Crow, flipping through books she found interesting. He could at least let her do this much right?

"Where am I-I?" Crow woke up disoriented. But looking at his surroundings he immediately grew vigilant. How had he appeared here, on what could have only been some ancient temple? What he felt was strange, was the fact that it was surrounded by a void.

There were cracks in the sky, and the world of grays and whites felt glitched. Almost as if one was surrounded by a spectrum.

"C-Crow." Crow looked back, assuming a fighting stance. He saw a young man who seemed to be in his 20s. He had strange hair that seemed to alternate between white and black covering his eyes, which had a piercing light.

'This man is dangerous.' This was his first thought when he assessed the man. Though he could not see the eyes very well, the whole body of the man seemed to emit a perpetual pressure that felt like killing intent.

The man looked up at the fractured sky, which looks like fallen glass shards. Crow raised his guard once more. When the young man finally looked up, he shook his head, slowly bring his gaze back to Crow.

"It is not Y-yet time." The man spoke slowly, but yet his speech felt altered. Almost as if multiple people were speaking all at the same time.

Crow was confused, "Time f-for what." It seemed the same rules applied to any sort of sound in this dimension.

But the man simply smiled not saying anything. He did not reveal his purpose. "Wake Up."

"Ahh! Where am I?" Crow's upper body shot up, but he quickly regretted that decision falling back down due to the awkward position he had been laying in.

Mistress Divine who had been sitting on one of the chairs reading a book looked towards Crow amused, "Oh? You have finally woken up."

Crow who ha been picking himself back up almost fell again when he heard her words. Why did it feel like this script had been played with? Who was the damned author?

Wasn't she supposed to put him on a good soft bed, and await at his side until he awoke? Why did it feel like she hadn't even noticed he was there? Ad what was this? Reading a book?

Was the story or technique really that interesting? His confidence in his looks took a large dip. Of course not large enough to make a difference but he felt wronged. Who hadn't once hoped to lay on the laps of a beauty? He would like to find whoever was in on this and slaughter them.

He forced himself to calm down before he looked at Mistress Divine with a questioning gaze. He wanted to know why she hadn't even bothered with his body.

"What? I am sorry. I'm usually only prone to help my disciples." She held her face as she let out a smile.

Crow was about to rage, but he remembered something. Use them to your advantage. "Master what do you mean by this? Are you rejecting this disciple of yours already?"

Mistress Divine was left speechless. There was only one way to explain this child in front of her.

Shameless.

His father was gone. His mother was gone. His sibling was gone. He had to ensure his survival. And this was his first step towards, that goal, towards his rise.
