After the boys walked another 10 minutes they already covered the entire park.
"What if there aren't any dungeons? What if this is just an ordinary apocalypse?" Brodin said.
"There will be dungeons, I'm sure of that." James said.
After that, they started their journey back to where they entered the park when suddenly, they heard the crackling sound of electricity.
"What is that sound?" Brodin asked.
"I don't know let's find out." James said heading for the sound.
When they found the source of the sound they saw a weird spherical object floating in the air. It looked hollow and full at the same time. It looked like it was a portal of some sort. Below it lightning was being formed and shot into the ground.
"Is that?"
"Yup, that is the entrance of a dungeon. It looks exactly the same as in the game." James said.
"But how do we know it is real and that it works?" Brodin asked.
"Only one way to find out right?" James said as he was walking toward the portal.
He then took a deep breath and stepped in. Leaving Brodin behind.
"Well, then I guess I have to go as well." Brodin said to himself and followed after James.
When James entered the dungeon he was transported to a jungle full of goblins. He could quickly get to a bush unnoticed and hid himself thinking of the perfect strategy when he saw more electricity coming from the portal. And then quickly after Brodin came out of the portal. James waved him over and they both came up with a strategy of how to complete the dungeon.
"Goblins are large in numbers but they are not very smart so a simple trap may work." Brodin said.
"Yeah, you're right but what kind of trap can we set without being noticed?" James said and the two started to look around.
"What if we do something like a pit trap?" Brodin said.
"We don't have the luxury of digging a hole. But I like the idea." Brodin said as he looked around himself. "There is a ledge there. We can turn these branches that are lying around on the floor into wooden spears and then put them under the ledge and aggro the goblins."
"Alright, let's get to work." Brodin said.
After that, the boys grabbed all the branches they could find and used the knives they brought with them to sharpen them. After they were done they started running around the jungle aggro-ing the goblins. When they had a large group following them, they led them back over to the ledge and let them fall to their death. After the goblins were dead they looted the bodies. They took everything that could be useful. They repeated this process a few times. In the end, James obtained a small dagger and some weird jewelry while Broding obtained a shield and a small axe.
"Alright let's search for the cave they came from." James said.
"Let's first drink something and eat a little bit. After that, we can go and search for the cave." Brodin replied while he was sitting on the ground trying to catch his breath.
"Alright."
After they ate a bit they started searching for the cave. After searching a little bit they found it.
"Let's go in." Brodin said. "But be careful of any traps."
Brodin entered first since he had a shield and then James would keep an eye on what is behind.
They walked around aimlessly for what felt like hours. They occasionally came across a few goblins but they easily dealt with them.
"What are we actually searching for?" Brodin asked.
"Don't you remember? Every goblin stronghold has a main room where they all eat and keep the women they kidnap." James said.
"Oh yeah, you're right. But how are we ever gonna find it in this maze of tunnels." Brodin said.
"I don't know let's just keep on walking for now." James said.
After they walked for another few minutes they came to a giant open room that was fully lit.
"This is it! But where is the boss?" James said.
"Look right there!" Brodin said.
He pointed to the back of the room where they could see two goblins the same height as humans.
"Those are hobgoblins! They have the same strength as an adult but they are much less intelligent." James said.
"They aren't carrying any weapons. We have the advantage." Brodin said.
"Alright, let's go." James said.
The two boys charged at the hobgoblins with their weapons. They managed to stab the goblins a few times but then something strange happened. The goblins let themselves get stabbed without putting up a fight but the moment they were stabbed they hit the boys disarming them.
"Our weapons!" Brodin screamed.
"It's okay, we just have to fight them bare handed now." James replied.
The boys charged at the goblins again but this time they stopped right in front of them and took a defensive boxing stance.
The goblins of course didn't know any martial arts or anything so their fighting was very primitive. Their attacks pretty much only consisted of swinging their arms. James and Brodin easily slipped these punches. And after each swing from the goblins, they landed a clean hit. After going for a few minutes the goblins were heavily wounded and exhausted. The boys were also exhausted.
"They won't go down." James said.
"I have an idea. What if we land the next hit on our weapons that are still stuck in their bodies. We could deliver a final blow that way." Brodin said.
They again prepared themselves for battle. Then the goblins took their last swings. Both Brodin and James managed to hit their weapons perfectly.
"Skreeeee"
The goblins let a deafening scream and then fell to the ground.
"We did it!" Brodin cheered.
"YEAH!" James screamed. "Let's go search for our loot."
"Okay let's go." Brodin said
