Brodin and Ella were standing outside the earth walls and waiting for them to come down. But then suddenly they heard a loud explosion coming from inside.
"James!" Brodin yelled.
Ella couldn't say anything she just stared and hoped that everything was okay inside.
"Phew, if I didn't see the flames in time that would have been a real problem." James said as he got out from after a small earth wall that was just big enough for him to hide behind. "Well then, it's my turn now." James said.
"HP boost, Water spout." This time the water spout shot the dragon hatchling up into the air.
"Light dagger." James said as he moved under the hatchling. He then sliced at the belly of the hatchling and it went straight through.
"I knew it. Dragon scales are tough. However, their bellies are not as well protected as the rest of their bodies." James said as the eyes of the hatchling turned into lifeless orbs.
After a few moments of silence. Suddenly the earth wall began to crumble.
"Get ready." Brodin said.
"For what?" Ella asked.
"The worst-case scenario." Brodin replied as he held his hammer in an attacking position and his shield in front of him.
But then a human walked out from the crumbling walls.
"James! You didn't die." Ella said full of joy.
"Of course I didn't die. Who do you think I am." James said while smiling. "What are you going to do with that valkyrie by the way?"
"I am going to invest the skill points I have into my taming skill and then try to tame it." Ella said.
Ella was now level 8. However, she still had 2 skill points from before which she didn't use so she could put four skill points into her taming skill. She then walked over to the valkyrie and stopped in front. She then put her hand on the valkyrie's head.
"From today until the day I die you will be bound to me as my summon." She said.
After that, a bright yellow-ish light started to emit from the two women which blinded both James and Brodin.
As the light died down James and Brodin only saw Ella collapsing to the ground and the valkyrie was gone.
Brodin immediately rushed over to her.
"Are you okay? Where is the valkyrie?" He asked.
"I'm fine. And to answer your other question. Come to me Alvit." Ella said.
After that, a human figure with wings started to form beside Ella, and eventually, a valkyrie stood in front of the three teens.
"I see you managed to tame the valkyrie." Brodin said. "She will be a huge boost in your fighting power."
"I know, thank you for helping me." Ella said as she hugged Brodin.
"It's okay." Brodin said as he started to blush.
*cough cough*
"How about we start looting this place." James said after he let the two have their moment.
"Yeah, great idea." Brodin said.
After searching the entire volcano they ended up getting a lot of gold and a few pretty good items.
Valkyries sword: Sword used by the battle maidens of Valhalla. It is made of the strongest steel and is as sharp as the fangs of Fenrir.
Dragon scales: Crafting material. Dragon scales are one of the hardest materials in the entire world. Anything that is created with dragon scales is extremely strong.
Dragon teeth: Crafting material. A dragon has very sharp teeth. Each one is as sharp as a sword.
They also got a monster core but not a lot of information was known about it. Only that it could be used for different purposes.
After they collected their loot they started walking toward the exit.
"Hey James." Brodin said.
"Yeah?"
"I've been thinking. This isn't heroes dimension anymore. There are also mythologies involved I think. I mean the valkyries weren't a thing in the game. What if the game has fused with our world?" Brodin said.
"Maybe you're right. But it is pointless to worry about that. We should just try to survive and get stronger for now. We can worry about things like that later." James said.
"Yeah, you're right." Brodin said. After that, they proceeded to walk out of the dungeon.
After they cleared the dungeon they went on to clear a few more. This time Brodin and James participated more in the fighting. Ella tried using both of her summonses at the same time but that was too much for her so she decided to only level up Alvit.
At the end of the day Ella was level 10, alvit was level 6, and the amber lion was level 5. The skill points she acquired were put into her mana stat allowing her to let her summons take more damage and summon them back quickly if it is killed.
James and Brodin each gained one level.
Brodin used his unlocated skill points to level up the dwarven shield skill which would then give him a 12 % stat boost. He also leveled up his smashing hammer skill giving it more power. He also acquired a new skill. Tremor, with this he could cause tremors in the earth.
James also saved up this skill point. He had a special plan. He wanted to create his own skill. He didn't know if this was possible. But he thought that since this was not the game that there would be some changes to the skills and since he had a skill tree he could try. He was saving up to at least five points.
The three were back at the cabin having their dinner when a thought suddenly popped into James his head.
"Hey, Ella. If you could tame a water monster that is big enough to carry all of us do you think we could cross over to the main continent?" James asked.
"Yeah, probably. Why?" She asked in return.
"Well then, I know what our next goal is going to be." James said.
