After traveling through England for a few weeks. James and Brodin met a few survivors but nobody with special abilities like they had. However, they did find strange writings in all of the dungeons they raided. During this time they each gained two levels but they decided to save their skill points for when they needed them since for now, they could fight pretty much everything they run into with the skills they have.
It was already late in the evening when the two boys sat in an abandoned barn which they had made their temporary base. It was well protected with only one way in. During the day the sun would shine through the gaps in between the wooden planks that formed the walls. Surrounding the barn was a beautiful field full of flowers and cattle. The cows there were kept by other people that lived around the field for food.
"I can't believe that after all this time we still haven't found anyone like us." James said.
"Maybe we are the only two people in the entire world." Brodin said.
"No, I can't believe that. Also, what do you think all those writings in the dungeons are?" James asked.
"I don't know but they probably have something to do with one another." Brodin said.
"Yeah, probably. Anyway, let's get some sleep for now since we are leaving tomorrow morning." James said as he turned around to sleep.
The next day the two boys were walking along the shore looking for a boat to use to get to the main continent. When suddenly they saw something in the distance.
"Wait, wait." James said as he pointed to something in the distance. He pointed at an amber lion.
Amber lions are a mutated lion species. Their skin is tough as steel and they can manipulate the earth around them.
"Let's go attack it and collect the materials from it." James said.
"Okay, I'll aggro it and then you come and finish it off." Brodin said.
After that James snuck to the side doing his best to not get noticed by the lion. While Brodin was charging straight toward the lion.
"Roaar." When the lion saw Brodin a deafening roar could be heard over the entire beach.
"KAIR!" Brodin yelled and then behind him the dwarf appeared. He also used the Dwarven shield skill to increase his defense and he took a hammer out of his interspatial ring to fight the lion with.
The lion then pounced on Brodin and the fight began.
Silently from the side, James summoned arlok and used his light and shadow dagger skills, and sliced at the lion. But instead of dying something strange happened.
The lion turned into an orange whisp and started to fly somewhere.
"What is happening?" Brodin asked.
"I don't know but let's follow it." James said.
The two boys followed the whisp into the forest until it went into a cabin. They were not quite sure as to what they should do.
"What!!! Someone dared to kill my cute little kitty?!" came from inside the cabin which startled the boys. "I will go and teach them a lesson."
The door opened and a beautiful brunette girl with gorgeous hazelnut eyes stood in the opening.
"Wha!" She shrieked when she saw the two guys standing in front of her cabin.
"Who are you?" She then asked.
"Uhm… I am James and this is Brodin." James said as he pointed to himself and Brodin.
"I'm Ella." The girl said.
"Did you two perhaps see someone fighting an amber lion?" Ella asked.
"Uhm, yeah…. That uh.. we kinda.." Brodin stammered. He couldn't gather himself together as he stood before the beautiful girl. He was mesmerized by her beauty and could not bring himself to tell her they killed their lion
"We killed your lion." James then said.
"What?! Why would you do that?" Ella said.
"We thought it was a normal amber lion. How were we supposed to know that it was someone's pet? And to be honest, it is a weird pet to have, it could kill you any moment." James said.
"It's not a pet. It is a summon." Ella said. "Besides how are you two able to kill an amber lion. Are you two also players?"
"Summon? Players?" James said confused.
"Yeah, people with heroes from heroes dimension. I chose the beast tamer Elsing because I like the idea of not having to fight myself but having summons fight for me." Ella said.
"Uhm, yeah. We are also players." Brodin said.
"Really?" Ella asked very excitedly." "I thought I was the only one. Which heroes did you pick?"
"I picked Kair the dwarven blacksmith." Brodin said.
"And I chose Arlok the clear spirit." James said.
"Isn't arlok weak?" Ella asked
"You obviously don't know the power of Arlok after leveling up a few times." James replied.
"Oh really, okay." She said.
"What are your levels." She proceeded to ask.
"I am level 13." Brodin said.
"And I am level 16." James said.
"What?! How are you above level ten?" Ella asked.
"Not that hard. Just kill every monster that you run into." James said. "What is your level then?"
"I am level 6. I can only summon this amber lion which is not very strong." Ella said.
"Now that you killed him as well it will take at least half a day before I can summon it again and start leveling." She then said.
"How about this. Tomorrow we will help you level up if you allow us to stay in your cabin for the night." James said.
At first, Ella was a bit shocked by the bold proposition but eventually agreed.
"But you two stay on the other side of the cabin."
"Of course." James said as he walked inside.
"Welcome to my cabin. How old are you two by the way?" Ella asked.
"We're both eightteen years old." Brodin said. "How about you?"
"Me? I'm seventeen." Ella said.
