Juliana
I never knew how beautiful it was to walk behind a waterfall, or how loud it was for that matter too. I noticed a door a little ways down the path and suddenly my necklace is calm around my neck upon stopping in front of it. This must be where it was leading me. I place my hand on the handle and before walking in I noticed it had a crescent moon with a star, just like my necklace, carved in the middle of the door. I try turning the handle but it seems locked. I frown at the door. "Why won't you open?" I whisper to myself. Then the door cracked open.
I push the door open slightly, hesitant to walk in. It just seems like an empty cave so I decided to walk in. The door closed behind me, causing me to jump to look at the door. I turn around and suddenly the empty cave isn't empty anymore. It has transformed into a beautiful study. Along one wall is a bookcase covered top to bottom with books with an arm chair resting in the corner. Along another wall are shelves and cabinets in what looks to be a kitchen and adjacent to that wall there is what looks to be a wardrobe dresser. In the middle of the room is a dark wooden table that looks to sit four people. Finally, there is a dark grey couch with a small black table resting on a blue rug facing a looks to be a fire place with a... wait is that a witches cauldron? Then I see it, sitting on a lectern, in the center of the wall with the book case sits a thick book. I step closer to get a better look. The book looks old as if it has been around for a few centuries but it doesn't feel it. The cover a light tan leather and spin a darker tan leather and the parchment of sheets are even lighter in color. I notice a silver crescent moon with a star, again just like my necklace, above the word 'Wildes' written in a deep dark green. Shocked to see my mother and I's last name.. but why would it be on this book? I try lifting the book to go sit on the couch but it is stuck in place. I give up on trying to move it and instead focus on opening it. That seems to be just as difficult as moving it off of the lectern.
I needed a break from trying to open that book. I was beginning to believe that it just wasn't meant to be opened. It was a bit chilly in this hidden room so I decided to start a fire. I went to the wardrobe in search from some dry clothes. Upon opening it I notice a couple simple dresses ranging in different colors and boots. I also notice a black velvet cloak that has specks of blues, purples, and white. I noticed within those clusters are crystals and they look like stars scattered across the cloak. Peeling my eyes away from the cloak I grab a dress and begin to change. I then proceeded to place my wet clothes near the fire hanging them to dry.
Finally warm and dry I turn my attention back to the book. I run my finger along the edge of the book causing a paper cut and I winced. I squeezed my finger trying to get away before I get blood on the book, but I was too late. There on the cover landed a single drop of blood. I went to use my skirt to clean it up but before I could move... the book absorbed it!? "What is going on?" I say to myself then suddenly the covered flipped open to what looks like a family tree. There was just one name out of the many names written in this book, Diana Wildes, my mother. I smiled as tears threaten my eyes and I blinked a few times to keep them at bay. Suddenly a wind whirls around the book and me and suddenly under my mother's name appears mine, Juliana Wildes.
I am officially freaked out and decided I have had enough for the night. I put out the fire and head for the door, not caring to change back into my other dress and I leave.
