Juliana
I can't believe he is carrying me, but where are we headed? I can feel my heart racing out of control and the electricity traveling through my legs and back finding this oddly comforting. I remembered the blood on my chin from earlier and I feel my face warming, turning red. I tried hiding my face by looking down. I heard a soft chuckle or was he clearing his throat?
"So, where should I take you?" He asked. I was shocked by his question. I just looked at him with my mouth slightly open. I was looking at his face in disbelief when he suddenly made eye contact with me. He smiled and I felt my cheeks grow warmer. I quickly averted my attention. He sighed, "Where to my Lady?"
"I need to get home." I said quickly and quietly that I wasn't sure if he caught it. He simply nodded and began walking. "Why are you helping me?" He looked down at me with furrowed eyes. That's when I realized the question intended for my personal thoughts had been spoken. My eyes wide in shock I was about to apologize.
"I was passing by and heard the commotion and followed the noise. Then when I saw them with their hands around you." I could tell he was getting mad because his grip around my waist tighten a bit. He took a breath and he loosened his grip and continued. "I just didn't want to see a lady get hurt." He finished simply in a calm tone.
I looked at him still confused but I decided against asking him another question. I was just grateful that I was saved and didn't need to worry. I could feel his eyes wondering my face. I started to panic and my heart was beginning to beat fast then he broke the tension. "My Lady, may I ask you something?" Looking into my eyes and all I could do was look at him and nod my head. "What happen to your eye?" He asked frowning. I didn't know if I could trust him with the truth so I shook my head and kept quiet. I felt the tears pooling at the edges of my eyes. I hope he didn't notice. "I'm sorry to offend you. That wasn't my intentions." He said now looking forward of our path. "May I ask for your name instead then?" He asked glancing down at me.
"My name is Juliana." I said shyly not looking up just straight at my knees.
"That's a beautiful name." He said timidly maybe a bit concerned for offending me. I could feel my eyelids becoming heavy with sleep. I enjoyed the swaying of him carrying me. I also felt comfortable and oddly safe; and before I knew it I had doze off in his arms.
Leonardo
I was so angry arriving to the forest and hearing people arguing. My heart sank and I was scared it was her who was hurt. To my surprise it was her being held by those disgusting humans. I am just glad I held onto my demon long enough for her to run. When I found her she was huddled behind a tree. I knew her foot was injured but I didn't want to scare her more. The only good thing about this is I finally know her name.
Juliana. I thought to myself. That is a gorgeous name. I couldn't help but feel contempt with her here in my arms. I also didn't mind that she had fallen asleep too. I just kept walking following her scent to her house.
I can see small rays of the sunrise at this point and I could see a house. I finally decided to wake up Juliana to confirm that this was indeed her house. It was a small cottage that looks like it once had white bricks but over time have gotten dirty, with a vine that climbs up one side of the cottage except for window. A great oak tree resided along the same side of the vine wall. It was a simple and small house. I looked at her peaceful face one last time before I woke her letting her know we have arrived home. 'Don't let go.' My demon whispered but I knew better than to listen... for now.
Juliana
"Juliana," I heard my name whispered into my ear and my eyes shot open in panic. "Easy My Lady, it's okay. It is just me. We have made it to your home." I blinked a few times.
"I apologize..." I realize I didn't ask for his name. "It seems I don't know your name." I said sheepishly and blushing as he is setting me on my feet.
He had a devilish smile that made my heart flutter in excitement. "Leonardo, but you My Lady may call me Leo." He said. "There is no need for you to apologize."
"I would like to thank you at least. You did save my life." I said looking him straight in his mesmerizing golden eyes.
Leo closed his eyes and sighed and then I knew it was my time to go inside before my father woke to ensure I have at least started breakfast for him and Silas. "Goodbye." I said softly and gave him a kiss on the cheek. I turned to opened the front door walked inside closing the door behind me and sinking to the floor.
