Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 - Green eyes

Juliana

I was in my bed, tossing and turning with the words my brother told me on repeat in my head, 'his swords are as weak as he was in protecting mother'. For some reason that thought couldn't leave me alone. So I did the only thing I could do when I couldn't sleep... I climbed out my window and started walking to the meadow.

I teleported home from the Uphuria Kingdom. It was awful. All King Rufus cared about was the wealth our kingdoms joining would bring him. I had no interest in marrying his daughter, Princess Penelope. She was self centered and it was really a turn off. I knew I had to marry soon if I wanted the thrown but I want to find someone less self absorbed.

Peter had came with me but he will never understand this. Peter was a freeman and sometimes I envied him. He didn't have these royal responsibilities to weigh him down. He could marry for love if he chose to. He didn't have to worry about disappointing anyone.

My father, King Dante, doesn't believe in taking short cuts when it comes to the political issues of being a ruler over humans. Just with us simply teleporting to Uphuria my father would be displeased. He wants me to be happy with my marriage and isn't pushing me, but I know the council is scrutinizing him for the fact that I'm 25 and have yet to find a bride.

I just need to clear my mind of this stress. So I go for a run. I change quickly then head out of the palace to the woods. It is near twilight when my demon leads me to the river. Then I see her, just like me dream her back is towards me. Only this time I'm clumsy and step on a twig and she jumps at the sound. Frantically looking around her then she locks eyes with me.

They are the same piercing green eyes from my dream.

Tonight seems to be a bit chillier than normal. I should have grabbed a thicker cloak. I think to myself but it is peaceful here in the meadow. It is soothing listening to the river falling over the cliff and listening to the owls. Occasionally a firefly comes by glowing brightly at it travels near the flowers. I am feeling better after my walk to the meadow. It helped clear my mind of the conversation I had with Silas.

I was growing tired and decided to head back home. Then I heard it, "Juliana" the wind whispered to me. I stood up unsure of why this is happening to me. I was about to leave the meadow when I heard a twig snap. I panicked and started looking around me when suddenly I locked eyes with a golden eyed man. He stood opposite of me on the other side of the river. He was tall maybe six foot and his hair was chocolate brown with caramel streaks in it. I was frozen unsure if I should stay or run.
