The very next day, around 3:30 am in a two story brown house in the Upper Eastside of Manhattan; Roxie Rodriguez was busy getting ready for her first ever interview on national television. Having already showered and dressed in a pair of faded denim jeans and a ragged old T-shirt from high school with her hair in a messy bun; Roxie was eating a nice bowl of cereal going over in her head what she was going to say about her book. In all her life; Roxie had never been interviewed on television before so the fact that she was going on national television and doing a full on press tour made Roxie extremely anxious and nervous. More than anything, Roxie wished Cassie and Annie were there with her that morning in her new house to boost her confidence up. Heck Roxie alone wished Cassie was with Roxie experiencing a majority of her career as an author alongside her. It had been many months since the last time Roxie had spoken to Cassie, Annie, Tom and let alone Paul, Calvin and Landon. But the one person Roxie was afraid to speak to the most was Nathan.
Since the fallout of their relationship; Roxie had tried to do the best that she could to forget and move on from Nathan. Whether it was focusing on getting her story published or spending time with Kyle; there was always something that pulled Roxie back to her time with the rebellious popstar. And Roxie couldn't blame herself for how she was feeling. She had spent 3 months getting to know not only Nathan; but also his family and band mates, had developed a pretty close relationship with them and then all of a sudden had to leave all of that behind her to go accomplish her dream of becoming an author. To make matters even worse; Roxie was also hired to be Fifth Avenue Square's new personal assistant at the time who was now being temporarily replaced by Garrett.
Roxie had hoped to be back in the UK before having to find a temporary replacement for her job as Fifth Avenue Square's new personal assistant, but with the long process of making a book along with the different time zones; Roxie's patience was running thin and it caused a ton of unneeded stress to Roxie and Nathan's new relationship. The couple would constantly fight and argue while video chatting with another almost every single night since Roxie's return to New York that at one point; Roxie just had enough and stopped contacting Nathan completely. Roxie knew that it was the toughest choice that she had to make, but if she had to go back and do it all over again, she would have done it in a heartbeat. However; what Roxie didn't know was that later on it was going to be the biggest regret of her life.
After a while had passed; Roxie pushed her breakfast aside and grabbed her cell phone to see if there were any new messages from her agent Andrew. According to her publisher; Andrew was supposed to pick Roxie up around 4-4:15 and the two of them were to be at the T.V. studio by 5:00 so Roxie could have plenty of time to get her hair and make up done before her interview. Feeling even more anxious, Roxie put her phone to the side and decided to make herself a hot cup of chamomile tea. As she was making her tea; Kyle had just woken up and entered the kitchen.
"Good morning beautiful. Today's the big day! How are you holding up?" Kyle asked as he snuck up behind Roxie and kissed her on the cheek.
"I'm a bit anxious, but once I have some of my tea I think I'll be fine," Roxie smiled. "How was work? You came home pretty late last night." she asked.
"Dave had me close up the bar last night again. I'm sorry if I kept you waiting." Kyle apologized.
"It's ok; I understand how busy your work schedule has been getting nowadays thanks to the surge of tourists visiting the city. It's not like you can't drop everything just to support me in my new career." Roxie stated.
"I know; and speaking of your career, I can't make it to see you at the T.V. studio later on today. Dave wants me to come in around 9:00 to get the bar prepared for today's shift. I'm hoping to be done around 4:30 so I can make it for your evening dinner." Kyle said.
"You know that's the one thing that bugs me! Why in the world did my publisher think now would be a good time to have an evening dinner right before I'm about to leave for my press tour? It makes no sense!" Roxie remarked.
"Look, think of it this way: it's the publishing company's way of celebrating on hopefully having a successful press tour while you're out promoting the story that you created." Kyle reassured her.
"Yeah, but you know how much I don't like these special dinners. I always feel like a fish out of water." Roxie whined.
"Hey; you're not going to feel like that this time around. I'm going to be there and there also may be a couple more familiar faces as well." Kyle mentioned.
"What do you mean? Please tell me you didn't invite your co workers from the bar to the evening dinner."
"Roxie, relax. I didn't invite those guys. I only invited Garrett, Cassie and some other people that they were eating dinner with." Kyle chuckled.
"Wait; you saw Cassie and Garrett last night and you forgot to tell me?!" Roxie shrieked.
"You were in bed asleep already so I figured why not tell you this morning before you left for your interview. You've got to admit; it was a nice surprise." Kyle pointed out.
"Yeah; I guess so. Anyway, I think my phone just buzzed which means Andrew is outside waiting for me. I'll see you later on at Angelo's and don't forget to record my interview." Roxie told Kyle as she kissed him goodbye. Kyle simply smiled, walked Roxie to the front door of their house and waved hello to Andrew.
"That man gets even more handsome every time I drive over here." Andrew said once Roxie had gotten into the car.
"Just shut up and drive already. We're going to be late and I'm already nervous." Roxie stated as she sat down in the passenger's seat of Andrew's Range Rover.
"Yes ma'am." Andrew said. Andrew then put the car into drive and the two were off to the TV studio ready for an eventful morning.
Meanwhile in the heart of New York City; Lexie, Garrett, Annie and Tom were already on set of the Early Morning Show in New York getting prepared for Cassie and Fifth Avenue Square's appearance on the show. After the adventurous evening and early morning check in; Lexie had made sure Cassie along with Nathan and his band mates were over at their Early Morning Show dress rehearsal ready and prepared for their performance and TV interview. Not only that; but Cassie along with Fifth Avenue Square had to pick out their outfits for their performance and interview along with what hair style and make up look for the day. As far as rehearsals were going, Cassie and the boys were doing fine for it being early in the day. Annie and Tom were impressed how focused all five of them were when it came to how they wanted their performance to look, how they wanted to be presented on television to even what they wanted to say afterwards in their interview.
"You know I gotta give props to Cassie and the boys on how they're handling all of this commotion. I'd be a total robot and completely lost or out of my mind if I did this for a living." Garrett said.
"I couldn't agree with you more. Anyway; Tom told me that you guys had run into an old friend of yours at dinner last night." Annie stated.
"Yeah; Cassie and I took the guys to this old hang out spot we used to eat at with Roxie that our friend Kyle works at as a bartender. You know; you should come along with us to the evening dinner later on tonight at Angelo's so I can introduce you to him." Garrett suggested.
"I don't know; I feel like I'd be intruding. Besides you lot were the ones that got invited AND you still have to tell Lexie about it. I think it'd be best if I sat out on this." Annie sighed.
"Look; I may not understand what you are going through especially with the circumstances we're in right now and with what you saw the last time you were here in New York, but if I were you; I'd push that worry aside and just enjoy the time that you have with everyone. If it makes you feel any better; you can be my plus one for the dinner party." Garrett reassured her.
"Really; you're willing to do that for me?"
"Why not? Besides; it beats staying up in a hotel room all day." Garrett pointed out.
"You're not wrong on that part and I'll admit I was slightly bored last night afterwards. I guess I can tag along with you as your date for tonight's dinner party." Annie smiled.
"Great; then I guess I better go tell Lexie about our plans for this evening and I'll see you later." Garrett chuckled. Annie just giggled and rolled her eyes on Garrett walked away to go talk to Lexie.
"Ahem." Tom coughed as he approached his older sister.
"Geeze; Tom! Warn a girl before you do that!" Annie gasped.
"I'm sorry, but if I heard correctly YOU are being Garrett's date to Roxie's dinner party later on at Angelo's." Tom said.
"Yes, I am and before you get any ideas I'm only doing this because I thought Garrett is a good colleague of mine and he needed someone to accompany him." Annie explained.
"Sure; whatever you say sis." Tom chuckled. Annie then scoffed and walked away annoyed about Tom's remark.
Once Cassie and the boys were done with their dress rehearsal, the five of them then separated to go to their individual dressing rooms to get themselves even more ready for their performance. As soon as Nathan and his band mates were in their dressing room, the boys were surrounded by hair stylists, make up artists and the show's styling team.
"Looks like you chaps are going to have a good audience for today's performance. Security had just informed me not only do they have a whole lot of Fifth Avenue Square fans here in the building but also outside the main building as well as the building across the street." Lexie told them as she entered their dressing room.
"What can we say; our fans are very loyal. Now; if you'll excuse me I got to get myself camera ready." Calvin stated. Calvin then walked over to the band's hair stylist and make up artist while the other 3 boys just chuckled and relaxed.
"And while Calvin gets ready I am going to rest my eyes for a bit." Landon yawned.
"Yeah; you're lucky you are able to take a nap right now. I could just imagine Scott's reaction to all of this." Paul remarked.
"Speaking of Scott; Lexie have you been able to get in contact with him yet?" Nathan asked.
"I have, and I'm not going to lie to you boys; Scott was a bit upset that some of you went out to explore the city last night instead of staying in at the hotel and resting. And he also informed me that he is going to have to stay in London for a bit longer than he was hoping for which means Scott is probably not going to be here for a majority of the press tour. And Scott also wanted me to warn you that just because he's not here physically doesn't mean you lads have the freedom to do whatever you want to do. The rules that he instilled in you boys since your first tour still apply to this day and as for the invite to that evening dinner party you lot got invited to last night by Garrett and Cassie's friend; Scott thinks it's a brilliant idea for you boys and Cassie to go with Garrett, Annie and Tom to Angelo's as long as all of you act on your best behavior, Nathan that means you; and that you also get back to the hotel at a decent time. Do I make myself clear?" Lexie informed them.
"As clear as day; thanks Lexie." Landon stated.
"Good; now I'm going to go update Cassie on all of this. In the meantime; stay here and don't get into any trouble." Lexie said. Lexie then walked out of the dressing room; leaving Nathan and the boys alone with the remaining crew members of the press tour.
"It's not like we're going anywhere for the next few hours." Nathan muttered as he took out his cell phone to scroll through social media.
"Hey, at least on the bright side, we get to go to that evening dinner party Kyle invited us to last night." Paul mentioned.
"Honestly mate; I don't know how I feel about this Kyle guy. He seems a bit-I can't explain it. It's just there's something about him that makes me feel uncomfortable." Nathan admitted.
"That makes no sense because last night it seemed like you found Kyle to be a cool guy."
"Yeah, and don't get me wrong I think Kyle is an amazing guy. I just have this strange feeling that Kyle may be a threat in the chance of me reconnecting with Roxie tonight at Angelo's." Nathan stated.
"Hold on; are you considering on reconnecting with Roxie tonight at the dinner party?" Landon asked.
"Look; chances are this is probably the only time I'm ever going to have an opportunity like this with Roxie. So I figured why not take a shot at it." Nathan rebuked.
"Nathan; both you and Roxie haven't spoken to each other in 6 months. What makes you think she's going to want to talk to you now after with what happened between the two of you?" Paul remarked.
"If I'm being honest; I don't know. All I know is that if I don't at least try to attempt to reconnect with Roxie; I'm going to regret it for the rest of my life."
