Chapter 13 - Chapter 12

Once Roxie had finished the second part of her first interview on national television, she quickly walked off the main set and headed backstage. At first, Roxie had no clue how Nathan even knew about her interview that morning. From what she knew, Nathan and his band mates were probably here in New York with Cassie, Lexie, Garrett, Annie and Tom to promote Fifth Avenue Square's new album. Roxie assumed that Nathan and the boys would have been at their hotel sleeping from the long flight, but then she wasn't surprised that Scott would have Fifth Avenue Square on national television to promote the new album the very next day. However; Roxie knew that if there was one group of people Nathan was going to be with it was his cousins and his band mates.

After a while had passed, Roxie was starting to feel a bit agitated on her search for Nathan. After searching from top to bottom, Roxie's hope in finding Nathan was starting to dwindle and she decided to give up and go back to her dressing room.

"Did you lose something?" someone asked Roxie as she was walking away. Roxie then turned around to address the person who was talking to her and, to Roxie's surprise; Nathan was standing right in front of her. All of a sudden tears of joy started to well up in Roxie's eyes. Roxie then went over to Nathan and the two of them held each other in a warm embrace. Roxie couldn't help but start to cry once her and Nathan had finally separated.

"After 6 months of not speaking to each other; I should have known this was going to be the reaction I'd be getting from you." Nathan said as he gently wiped Roxie's tears away.

"What can I say? A guy like you has that effect on me." Roxie giggled.

"And here we thought you two love birds were going to make out in front of everyone." someone said sarcastically. Roxie then looked behind Nathan to see who was talking and saw Paul, Calvin, Landon and Cassie waiting for Nathan and Roxie to finish.

"Paul, Calvin, Landon, Cassie!" Roxie shrieked as she went to go hug each of them.

"Hey; what about us? We want a hug as well!" Garrett remarked as he, Annie and Tom were walking towards Roxie and the others.

"Of course; how could I forget!" Roxie laughed. Roxie then hugged Garrett, Annie and Tom and once Roxie had finally relaxed; she looked at the familiar faces that had once brought her pure happiness.

"What's going through your head right now, Roxie?" Cassie asked her.

"Honestly," Roxie sighed. "I'm just happy. When I woke up this morning, I thought that I was never going to see any of you ever again and I thought that it would be a long time or even impossible to run into each other, but fate has a way of changing certain situations in our lives. I just wish we would have reunited a bit sooner." she cried.

"Hey; we all knew the consequences of what was going to happen once you decided to go back to New York. Yes, it sucked that you were miles away from all of us, but what counts is that we're all together again." Nathan reassured her.

"I know and I'm thrilled that I am reunited with all of you. It's just a lot of changes have happened to me recently-." Roxie started.

"There you are! You missy are one fast walker," Andrew panted as he walked up to where Roxie and the others were standing and talking. "Who are these people?" he then asked Roxie.

"Andrew; I'd like you to meet my friends. Obviously you know of the band Fifth Avenue Square. Besides these lovely gentlemen who I got to spend most of my time with my best friend and former room mate Cassie Gonzalez which also happens to be Fifth Avenue Square's opening act for their upcoming stadium tour that is going to happen this summer. I also got to know Nathan's two cousins; Annie and Tom and as for Garrett; he's just an old co worker and class mate from college. As for everyone else; I'd like for you guys to meet my personal agent, Andrew Cunningham." Roxie explained.

"Oh, so this is the motley crew of misfits you told me about. Well it's nice to finally meet all of you. Roxie, can I talk to you in private?" Andrew asked. Roxie and Andrew then stepped aside not too far from where the others were standing to talk amongst themselves.

"Ok; what is it that you've got to tell me privately?"

"What I'm about to say might come out as a bit harsh, but just hear me out; ok? Dominic just texted me that he's unfortunately going to be held up the entire afternoon so he won't be able to stop by Angelo's to see the finishing project for tonight's dinner party, which means you've got to deal with making some of the last decisions and we also have your appointment with the designer for your dress for the up and coming Author's Gala in Colorado." Andrew informed her.

"You've got to be kidding me?! I was really hoping to relax and maybe reconnect with some of my friends right now!" Roxie whined.

"Look; I get it. You haven't seen any of these people in months and more than anything you want to spend as much time with them before you leave, but I'm sorry to break it to you sweetie; this is the life of a celebrity. If you want to 'make it' in the big leagues; you've got to sacrifice some of your time to focus on your career and that sacrifice includes spending time with loved ones." Andrew stated.

"Ok; fine, but can I at least say goodbye to them? I might not get an opportunity like this ever again once my career takes flight." Roxie asked.

"Alright, but in the meantime, I'm going to the car and by the time I pull up to the building; you better be outside. I'm giving you 20 minutes!" Andrew instructed. Andrew then turned around and left Roxie to say farewell to Nathan and the others.

"I don't understand! You've got to leave right now because the guy who is in charge of the publishing company that is publishing your book can't make it to some fancy Italian restaurant to make some last minute decisions for some fancy dinner that's happening tonight AND you have an appointment with a top of the line fashion designer to design a dress for you to wear at some author's gala?" Calvin remarked.

"I know it sounds bad you guys but what do you want me to do; not show up? I can't! This stuff could be beneficial to my career." Roxie explained.

"Roxie; we've just reconnected with one another. Isn't THAT more important to you than wondering what napkins you're going to use for dinner and the type of style you want your dress to look for that gala?" Landon asked.

"Guys; I want to spend as much time with all of you, believe me. But if I want my career of an author to be a success, I need to sacrifice the time I spend with those I care about the most to focus on my career." Roxie said.

"Maybe there is a way you can get away with it." Cassie mentioned.

"What do you mean?" Tom asked.

"Well; from what Roxie just told us what she has to do right now doesn't really take a whole lot of time to get done. Now; I'm just assuming here, so don't judge me; but making some last minute decisions for some dinner party should take no longer than 10-20 minutes depending on what needs to be done before the restaurant has to set up for the event. As for the fashion designer part; that may be a bit longer given the fact of how Roxie wants the dress to look, the overall theme the gala is going for that night, and also the certain measurements the designer needs to get from Roxie so they could get the correct design and style in order for Roxie to feel not only elegant and sophisticated but also comfortable." Cassie explained.

"True, but what does that have to do with Roxie wanting to reconnect with all of us?" Annie asked.

"If I remember correctly; some of us got invited by a certain bartender last night to go to this evening dinner party for Roxie that is happening tonight at Angelo's. I'm pretty sure some of us may want to at least try to find a decent outfit to wear to said dinner so why don't you gentlemen spend some time with Garrett and shop for say a nice outfit to wear to the dinner and reconnect with Roxie later on at Angelo's while Annie and I spend our time reconnecting with Roxie as we help her pick an outfit to wear to the party." Cassie suggested. The group agreed and thought that Cassie's idea was the best option for them. Plus it also was a brilliant way for both Nathan and Roxie to prepare on what they actually wanted to tell each other. Once the group had finally settled on where they were going to meet up again once Roxie was done with all of her daily tasks for the day, Roxie said her farewells to everyone and went to go find Andrew.
