Chapter 17 - Chapter 16

As soon as Nathan returned from the restroom; he walked over to the bar and ordered himself a glass of whiskey. Paul and the others saw this and became utterly concerned about Nathan's wellbeing. So Paul, Calvin and Landon walked over to Nathan to see if he was feeling ok.

"Finally someone starts to get himself back to normal! What are you drinking?" Landon asked Nathan.

"Some Irish whiskey. It's honestly just being my crutch to help me get through what's about to happen right now." Nathan stated. The other 3 boys got confused about Nathan's remark until the room started to fill up with cheers. All 4 boys turned around to see what all of the commotion was all about and saw that Roxie and Kyle had finally arrived at the dinner party. As soon as Nathan saw both Roxie and Kyle; he grimaced and continued on drinking his whiskey.

"I don't understand. You're drinking because Roxie and Kyle finally showed up to the dinner party?" Paul asked.

"Not exactly; it's more of what I saw while I was heading to the men's restroom," Nathan replied as he took one last gulp of whiskey. "Look; you lads know that I have been trying not to be so much of a mood killer ever since we have gotten here, but I don't think my mood is going to change anytime soon. So I'm going to do what's best and head on back to the hotel. If Roxie asks, which I highly doubt it; tell her that I'm sorry and that I wish her nothing but the best of luck for her." he sighed. Nathan then got up from where he was sitting and started to walk towards the rooftop entrance to the restaurant. As Nathan was walking away; Roxie accidentally bumped into him as he was leaving the dinner party.

"I am so-Nathan; hi!" Roxie said.

"Hi." Nathan smiled.

"Are you leaving the party? You look like you're in a rush to get somewhere." Roxie giggled.

"Um, no; I was just coming over to say hi. Now that I have; I'm going to head on back over to the others." Nathan lied.

"Ok, oh and Nathan; thanks again for being here. It really means a lot to me." Roxie told him. Nathan smiled and watched Roxie walk away to go talk to more of the guests who were at the dinner party.

Meanwhile; Paul, Calvin and Landon were over at the groups table talking to Annie, Cassie, Tom and Garrett about the boys conversation with Nathan at the rooftop bar.

"Are you sure Nathan was serious about leaving the dinner party?" Annie asked.

"There's no doubt in my mind that Nathan decided to leave and head on back to the hotel. Unless somebody changes Nathan's mind, which rarely ever happens; then we'll be just fine." Cassie stated.

"I don't know; when we were talking to Nathan, it seemed like he had already made up his mind about leaving." Calvin mentioned.

"I'm still confused about what Nathan had told the 3 of you. Nathan must have seen or heard something that have affected him in some way. I just can't seem to put my finger on it!" Garrett remarked.

"Well whatever it is; there's no way Nathan is going to tell us unless one of us tries to get the information out of him or someone here at this table knows something about Roxie that the rest of us don't know about." Paul pointed out.

"Paul's got a good point. We all went our separate ways this morning so one of us has to know what is going on between Nathan and Roxie. We all saw how the two of them were after Nathan serenaded Roxie at the TV show. It was like how things were before all of this confusion." Tom said. All of a sudden Annie and Cassie looked at each other.

"Do you think we should tell them?" Annie whispered.

"Might as well. If we don't; it's just going to cause more unnecessary drama that we don't need right now." Cassie stated.

"You ladies feel ok?" Garrett asked them.

"Yeah; Annie and I just felt that you boys really need to know about something that Roxie told us when we were at her house earlier today while we were getting ready for the dinner party." Cassie explained.

"Ok; what is it that you want to tell us?" Paul asked.

"What we're about to tell you boys; you have to promise that you won't tell anyone else; especially Nathan," Annie replied. The boys agreed and promised both Annie and Cassie not to say a word. "Alright; so this might be a shock to all of you but Roxie is supposedly dating Kyle." she added.

"What do you mean Roxie is 'supposedly' dating Kyle? I thought Kyle and Roxie were just friends?" Tom asked.

"That's what I thought as well. Then again I haven't spoken to either Kyle or Roxie until now, so things have drastically changed since the last time I have been in New York." Cassie stated.

"This doesn't make any sense! Why would Roxie even consider dating Kyle in the first place? We all saw the way she reacted to Nathan's performance earlier today. The girl was practically in a trance!" Calvin remarked.

"According to Roxie; she wasn't even planning on this to happen between her and Kyle. From what me and Annie know; Kyle was there for Roxie during her fallout with Nathan a while back and the next thing Roxie knew Kyle was making her breakfast." Cassie explained.

"I can just imagine how Nathan is feeling right now; if he knows all of this." Landon mentioned.

"If Nathan does know about Roxie dating Kyle; we need to make sure Nathan doesn't do anything reckless," Garrett stated. "I know I'm probably one of the least people to talk about Nathan and Roxie's relationship, but after what I saw this morning at the Early Morning Show; I wouldn't be surprised Nathan will do whatever it takes to get Roxie to fall for him again." he added.

As the night dragged on; so did the atmosphere of Roxie's dinner party. Once all of the guests got settled at their designated tables, the food was served along with the restaurant's best red and white wine. After the guests had their fill of food and wine; Andrew stood up from where he was sitting and started to make a toast.

"On behalf of Dominic Collins Publishing Company; I would like to personally thank all of you for being here on this special night for our latest client; Ms. Roxie Rodriguez!" Andrew stated. "Roxie; all of us here are so excited and proud of what looks to be an amazing career. So, with that being said; Dominic and I have a little surprise for you. As many of you know Roxie was recommended to us by none other than Scott Stevens; aka Fifth Avenue Square's general manager. Well as of this morning both Roxie and Fifth Avenue Square have reconnected and will be going on a national press tour together!" he announced. As soon as Andrew stated this; the whole room started to applaud and congratulate Roxie. However what nobody seemed to notice was the complete shock on not only Roxie and Nathan's faces but also Paul and the others.
