Chapter 12 - Chapter 11

Once all four boys of Fifth Avenue Square realized that Roxie was one of the Early Morning Show's guests; Paul, Calvin and Landon looked at Nathan to see if he was going to do anything reckless. At first, Nathan stared at Roxie in complete awestruck wonder. More than anything, Nathan wanted to leave his band mates, go out in the middle of the set and hug Roxie. However, Nathan knew that if he did just that; not only will it cause a frenzy on the show's live broadcast but also in every celebrity news outlet all over the world. So Nathan did the only thing that he could do and that was to get up from where he and his band mates were hiding and walk back to the dressing room with the other 3 boys following behind him.

As soon as all four boys had entered the dressing room, Nathan silently sat down on one of the lounge sofas and stared down at the floor.

"Well; this just got a bit interesting." Landon whispered to Paul and Calvin.

"You got any ideas?" Calvin asked.

"I do and I know just the right person to call. In the meantime, get anyone that is part of the styling team for our press tour to leave the dressing room," Paul instructed them. Landon and Calvin then went to the other side of the dressing room to do as Paul had instructed. In the meantime, Paul took out his cell phone and dialed Cassie's number. "Hey Cassie; it's me. Is Annie and Tom with you right now? They are; great! Can you please send them over to our dressing room? I'll explain everything later. Cool, thanks!" he added. Paul then ended the conversation and waited for Landon and Calvin to return. Once the dressing room was clear of all the stylist team for the band's press tour, Landon and Calvin had returned to where Paul and Nathan were waiting there was a knock on the dressing room door. Paul then went over and opened the door to let both Annie and Tom inside the dressing room.

"Hey; Cassie texted me saying that you needed our assistance-whoa." Annie said as she saw her cousin. To Annie and Tom's surprise; Nathan was still in his frozen state of mind; clueless to what was happening in the room.

"What in the bloody hell happen to him?" Tom asked.

"You cousin got bored and decided to leave the dressing room for while to go explore the studio. The lads and I tried to convince him otherwise, but knowing Nathan; when he puts his mind to something he's going to to whatever it takes to get what he wants. Anyway; long story short, we go with Nathan and we all ended up on set of the Early Morning Show, Nathan sees Roxie and now we're all back here with Nathan stuck in this paralyzed state of mind." Paul explained.

"How long has he been like this?" Annie asked as she knelt in front of her cousin.

"My guess probably a good 5-10 minutes at the most. You think you can get him to snap out of it? We go on in 15 minutes." Calvin asked.

"I can try, but Tom and I can't promise anything," Annie reassured him. Tom then sat next to Nathan on one side of the couch while Annie gently shook her cousin to wake up. "Nathan; hey, come on. It's time to snap out of it." she said. Nathan then got startled, shook his head and saw Annie and Tom along with Paul, Calvin and Landon standing in the dressing room with him.

"Annie; I saw...I saw-." Nathan stuttered.

"I know; you don't have to say anything. Tom and I accidentally went in and ran into her in her dressing room. How are you feeling?"

"Honestly, I don't know! A part of me wants to stay here, but then another part of me wants to go out there and act like a lovestruck fool on national television," Nathan admitted. "What should I do?" he asked.

"I think you need to take some deep breaths and follow your gut on this one. I know you wanted Tom and I to keep an eye on you just to make sure you acted on your best behavior just in case you ran into Roxie, but; if I'm being honest, you don't need us. Knowing Roxie; she is going to be probably just as surprised but also ecstatic to see you. You just got to remind her that you are still that rebellious, charming fellow that saved her from that thunderstorm all those months ago." Annie told him. Nathan nodded and let out a deep sigh of relief to relax himself. Once Nathan had finally relaxed; he noticed an acoustic guitar that was nestled in one of the corners of the dressing room. Suddenly a brilliant idea came to Nathan's mind and instantly Nathan got up from where he was sitting, grabbed the guitar and walked out of the dressing room to where he and his band mates had seen Roxie that morning.

Back on the Early Morning Show set, Roxie was about to start her first ever national television interview.

"Welcome back to the show everybody! I'm your host Abigail Johnson and joining us to day on the show is a talented young lady who is making her big debut not only on national television but also to a ton of young adults around the world all thanks to her amazing book. New York; please join me in welcoming Ms. Roxie Rodriguez!" Abigail announced. The audience then started to applaud and cheer as Roxie smiled and waved back at them.

"Welcome to the show Roxie and on behalf of everyone here; thank you for joining us on this beautiful day here in New York City." Abigail said.

"The pleasure is all mine and thank you for having me." Roxie stated.

"Now as Abigail has stated earlier; this here is your first time being interviewed on national television, did you feel a bit nervous at all this week because you look very calm and put together; I'm impressed."

"I'm not going to lie; leading up to today I did feel a bit anxious, but after seeing how all of the crew members and producers have been treating not only me personally, but also members of my team that are here with me this morning with open arms and the upmost respect have overall brought me a sense of relief." Roxie replied.

"Roxie; if you don't mind me asking, can you tell us and our viewers about yourself; where you grew up as a child, went to school and how you got into writing?"

"Of course; if you follow me on any of my social media accounts you know that I am an only child to some amazing parents. You will also know that I'm not originally from New York. I grew up and lived in a small town just a few miles outside of San Francisco, California. I was a former student at NYU and during my time there, I found this website for undiscovered writers and authors like myself who just want to share their stories and love for telling stories. And, yeah; the rests is all history." Roxie explained.

"Now I know you of course like to keep certain moments in your life private; like your parent's divorce and love life, but if there is one thing you don't mind talking about it is your time with possibly one of the biggest band's dominating the music industry right now, Fifth Avenue Square I mean; how in the world does a small town girl like yourself end up not only get to know these boys but also hang out with them and also get hired to be the band's new personal assistant?"

"Honestly Abigail and Chris; I'm still about as shocked as everyone else that hears this news. If you would have told me back when I was attending classes in NYU that I would be travelling to the UK for 3 months to find a publisher and instead I end up working for Fifth Avenue Square; I would have thought you were ridiculous and just crazy. But, you know destiny has its way of changing a person's plans and I can honestly say I am so grateful for those boys because if it wasn't for them; I wouldn't be here today." Roxie stated.

"Well we are eternally grateful also and with that we have to take a quick break but stay tuned because when we return; we'll be talking to Roxie about her book. This is the Early Morning Show." Abigail said.

Once all of the studio cameras have stopped recording, all of the co hosts assistants and make up team went to where Roxie and the hosts of the show were sitting to fix up their hair and make up. As soon as the make up team was done touching up Roxie's make up; Andrew came up to Roxie.

"So; how am I doing?" Roxie asked.

"Not too bad; in fact, you're doing pretty good for this to be your first interview on national television." Andrew replied.

"Great; do you have any advice for me for the next part of my interview?"

"As of right now; no. Just keep doing what we've practiced and talked about by keeping your answers simple, short and precise," Andrew told her. All of a sudden there was the sound of an acoustic guitar playing. "What-who is playing the guitar?" he asked as Andrew looked around the set. Roxie looked around to see what Andrew was talking about. It wasn't until Roxie looked towards one of the studio's main front cameras did she catch a glimpse of the culprit who was playing the acoustic guitar.

"Oh, my gosh!" Roxie gasped. To Roxie's surprise, and practically everyone else that was on the Early Morning show set; Nathan came out from behind the camera she was looking at and started to sing a song that Roxie had heard some time long ago in a different time.

As Nathan was performing his song to Roxie, neither one of them took their eyes off of each other. It was like the two of them were in a trance; as if they were the only two people in the studio let alone the whole world. Every time Nathan moved closer to where Roxie was sitting; Roxie's heart would skip a beat and a big smile would start to appear. It was like Nathan was singing the song only to her and all Roxie could do was stay where she was at and not move from her spot.

All of a sudden the main creator for the Early Morning Show made an announcement on the set's sound system to remind the audience and the show's make up team that they were going to continue filming in 5 minutes. By that point, Nathan was already done singing and both Nathan and Roxie were staring at each other. Once Nathan had heard the announcement from the show's director; he then turned to Roxie, winked at her and left the studio's main set leaving Roxie speechless.
