Various spells affiliated with [Earth Magic] were used to create walls that surrounded the village. Although the magic was supported by only a few people of less than 7, they were assured compensation that they could not refuse.
William was glad that Viscar was still with them. It would have been nearly impossible to defeat all those monsters on his own. Though, he still didn't believe he had any way of returning alive with just two veterans present. But still, he couldn't help but hope.
"Archers take your positions! Our opponents are approaching!" William yelled. "We will not abandon our homes nor will we lose our lives. We will push through and afterward, fill our bellies in Mrs. Cara's delicious meals and good quality liquor!" He continued with vigor.
The men yelled with an equal amount of vigor and took their positions. The archers and those unacquainted with the sword stood at the elevated wooden platform that over-looked the vast lands before the forests. Each archer notched their arrow in place, aiming at the forest exit.
Licht grunted as he hauled his siblings through the forest. He passed through the exit of the forest, but he wasn't given a moment's rest. Not because of the monsters still chasing after his servant; though there's still that. No, it was the arrows that were immediately fired at them.
"What the hell!" Licht explodes. He activates [Gale Shield] causing all the arrows to bounce off due to strong wind. Licht rushes towards the usual path to the village entrance, and he sees no doorway to pass through. 'Are these people stupid?!' Licht yells within his mind.
Licht prepares himself and holds Leonhard and Roslyn in a more comfortable position, before launching himself off the ground. The archers on the platform watch, as a seemingly impossible scene, unfolds before them. A child, probably no older than five, hauling 11-year-olds over a 15 feet earth wall.
That's definitely a sight worth seeing, isn't it?
Roslyn screams and squirms in the air making it difficult for Licht to grip her properly. "H-hey we're too high-" She screams even louder and Licht loses his hold on her.
Licht clicks his tongue, "You couldn't stay still for a few seconds?" he asks as he activates [Wind Tornado] to cushion her fall. A miniature tornado forms beneath her and slows her descent to the ground making her sigh in relief.
Licht lands roughly, leaving a crack on the ground, and walks up to Roslyn, and leaves a sharp but light blow to the head. "You could have prevented this if you stayed still for a few more seconds. Your brother held it in, didn't he?" He asks as he turns his head to glance at Leonhard.
Leonhard knelt on the floor, on all fours as tears poured from his eyes. "So high," he whispered to himself, "I thought I was going to die." he continued to himself as he began to sob quietly.
"Ah." Licht expressed with an uncomfortable expression.
"Leonhard?" Roslyn called out to him but she gets no reply. Still, she continues, "We're sorry." She goes to his side as she reassures him with her words. Licht stays in his spot as he awkwardly shuffles in place. He wasn't exactly familiar with this type of situation.
They whisper amongst themselves occasionally sparing a glance for Licht. Leonhard turned to face Licht with a forced smile on his face, "Uh...sorry you had to see such a thing."
"You know, we've always been envious of you," he began. Licht's face became even more conflicted, 'Are we doing this now?'
"You were always better than us and frankly speaking, you were annoying." Licht's face fell as he soon realized the plot soon to come. "Can we do this later?" He asks only to be ignored.
"You never spoke to us nor did you acknowledge us in any way, but it didn't give us a reason to hate. It's not like we tried talking to you anyways." Licht looked around him and saw the panic on each soldier's face. The rumbling sounded closer than before as the monsters soon approached them, but his elder brother refused to acknowledge that.
"Ummm...." He was unable to think of a way to get him to stop. He just let Leonhard be for now, "But now, I know the truth. Deep down, you really care for us. Otherwise, you wouldn't have bothered saving us. We see now, that ignoring us was not your intention!"
Licht raised his brow, 'What is he going on about?'
"Brother, we know the truth and there is no need to hide it any longer." He states confidently. Waiting an absurd amount of seconds as a build-up for mood, "You're actually a tsundere!!"
"..."
"..."
"...Huh?"
"A tsundere! Saying and acting the opposite of how you really feel." Roslyn defined proudly. Licht stood baffled, 'In this mess we're in, this is what they say?!'
"Uh-huh," Licht replies, completely getting over the situation. "Now, back to what's on hand. You're aware that we are the cause of the monster stampede, aren't you?" He asks rhetorically.
"Ye-"
"I did not expect an answer," he interrupts. "Continuing ~ Therefore we have to take responsibility and make ourselves useful. I would hate to see our home getting destroyed." 'Because some incompetent servant couldn't keep to his business.' He completes in his mind.
'I'm sorry. I really do anything, I swear!!' Draywein cries.
'Forget it. Jump into the rift and return to my side.' Licht orders.
Draywein gives a sigh of relief and does as he is told. His sudden appearance surprises the pair, but Licht raises his hand signaling that Drayein is as harmless as you can get. Literally.
'I feel like someone just dissed me. Was it Licht?' He thinks as he turns to Licht.
From the distance, William could see a familiar figure. He wondered if he was truly seeing things. But Gerald on the other hand was 100% sure that what he saw was true.
"Liiicht!~ Where have you been?!~" Gerald jumps in for the usual hug, but Licht replies with the usual dodge. Causing Gerald to reply with his usual reflexes. The reflexes that are only useful with bear hug attacks.
