Licht sighed, "Do we really have the time for this?"
William walked towards Licht with a stern look on his face, "Where have you been? Your mother has been worried sick."
Licht looks down, hiding his face. "I apologize. That was not my intention. I..." Licht began but soon trailed off. He wanted to explain things once and for all, seeing how dangerous misunderstandings can be; but he couldn't do so at the time. If he as to start now, it would lead to further questions and that would distract them from the monsters beyond the wall.
"You'll explain later. Now, get yourselves to a safe place." He ordered. Licht shook his head, "Father," Licht began as the word felt foreign in his mouth, "Please allow us to make ourselves useful."
William thought carefully about Licht's request and eventually gave him a positive reply. The three children all nod their heads in determination, and they scrambled around to find their respective places. On the Platform.
They were restricted to the platform. They had orders not to leave that spot. Meanwhile, William, Viscar, Gerald, and the very few knights they had were allowed past the tall wall, while the bears were distracted by the archers.
Roslyn summoned a lesser fire spirit and soon put it to good use, while Leonhard clumsily fired arrows. Thankfully, his aim was nowhere near allies.
Though, Licht held his bow elegantly and was about to notch the arrow in, when the bow and arrow given to him turns to ashes in his hands. Licht blinks confused for a few seconds but soon clenches his fists in realization.
He wasn't allowed any other weapons due to his weapon system! He felt so foolish, though, he never expected it to apply itself in this situation.
"Fuck," Licht whispered to himself as he brought out his gauntlets. They were useless in ranged combat; therefore, he had no other choice. Though, he was positive that he could handle himself.
He jumps off the platform and over the wall, ignoring the concerned calls of his siblings. He lands on the floor with a loud crash, catching the attention of a few Water Bears. Gerald cuts down a bear as he yells ferociously, "What are you doing here?!" He yells still panting.
He looked ready to drop, but he still had the drive to keep going. Licht gave a small but visible smile, "I'm here to help."
Gerald saw this smile and considered it a blessing. He couldn't help but relish it, and this provided him with a new goal. He wanted to see a smile like that again.
William and Viscar each handled a bear each, other knights were grouped in pairs and were told to keep the others busy so as to not interrupt. The archers barely did any damage, and there were no mages in the village except Roslyn. It was a mess.
Licht took his stance and shifted all his weight to his feet. With his armored finger, he drew a magic circle creating his own magic.
[Lightning Magic: Electric Burst]
As he completed the circle, Licht's body is instantly enveloped in lightning. He pushes off the ground making it to the nearest bear in half a second. He slashes into the belly of the bear, temporarily injecting mana into the gauntlet making it sharper.
The claws cut cleanly, ignoring the defenses of the Water Bear. The liquid that is constantly viscous on the bear's skin, makes it hard for any weapon to penetrate. Therefore, it is commonly approached with hammer type weapons or magic. Otherwise, you can rely on hacking it bit-by-bit slowly witling its Hp.
Licht shook the blood of his hands as he looked at his next prey with a sadistic smile on his face. The bears froze in place and the nearest one took a step back. Licht tilts his head, "Huh? Where are you going? Weren't we having fun?"
Bears shivered one by one as they heard the falsetto voice dripping with sarcasm, they had never felt like this before. Fear.
"My, my. What's this? No-one told me Water Bears were such intelligent creatures," He says as he laughs hysterically. "Too bad though. I can't play for long."
He activates [Teleport] and reappears behind his next target, ripping out its arm off. It wails in pain, but Licht sticks his hand through the bear's neck, cutting off its cries. William, just finishing off his bear, looks around for his son.
He finds his son smiling, as he ruthlessly chased after panicked bears and tore them apart. William gave a nervous chuckle, "At least he's on humanity's side...." he says before glancing once again. ".....I think."
Viscar drops his axe with a loud bang, "Humanity's side? Bullshit! That kid almost burned me alive!"
"W-well...I mean-" William stuttered, he couldn't deny what Viscar had just said.
"Isn't that person too psychotic to be called a kid?" Viscar asks causing William to turn to him offended. "Hey, watch your language. Either way, you need to be a little psychotic to survive in this world we live in."
