Chapter 22 - Unknown Emotion

Licht sighs through gritted teeth and grabs them both by their arms. He drags them from their stupefied state and hides them both in a nearby and random hollowed tree. He wanted to use [Teleport], but seeing as they woke a slumbering monster, he doubted that the bear would call it quits. He had a feeling that the monster would track them down until death.

"Stay here and be quiet," Licht ordered before starting his weapon system. His weapon slowly materializes in a swarm of pixels in both arms. He balled his hands, "What a pain."

On his hands were a pair of gauntlets he had made as a joke. He had wondered what fighting unarmed with a beast felt like, and the gauntlets seemed like good protection against sharp weapons, fangs, and claws.

The bear was large, as high as 3 meters, and it looked ferocious. Its eyes were red, and its teeth and claws looked uncomfortably sharp. Its coat was shiny, slimy even; but as Licht looked closer, he saw that the liquid on its fur kept moving. The bear charged at Licht on all fours with shocking speed and pounced on Licht with its jaw wide open. "Ugh," Licht expresses as he teleports above the bear.

"Let's test this out for a bit," Licht activates [Spirit Magic]. He applied the magic on himself, and with this, Licht felt like he could control himself like a puppet, with hands from multiple angles. He controls these hands, and spins himself mid-air, gaining momentum with each spin.

The bear stands on its hind legs, looks up at Licht with rage in its eyes. He roars, but Licht pays no mind to it. He slashes downwards at the throat with his claws, causing blood to excessively gush out. Though he had put some force into the attack, the bear's head was just barely connected to its body.

It sneers resentfully at Licht, and claws at him at Licht's moment of landing. He avoided a fatal wound using [Spirit Magic], but he couldn't escape the superficial claw marks made on his chest. Licht hisses in pain, though it was only momentarily. His wound began healing itself after a few seconds.

"What an interesting fellow," A soft voice whispers. The voice didn't have an actual position, it came from all directions. But Licht could tell that a spirit had just spoken to him. "Entertain me more."

"Tch. I take orders from no one." Licht says this but all he gets as a reply are giggles and chuckles. Shaking his head, Licht went back to Leonhard and Roslyn but stopped soon after. He gritted his teeth in anger and cursed Draywein telepathically.

'You useless dragon! What the hell are you doing?!'

'I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I didn't do anything, I promise! They just came after me!' Draywein cried as an enormous amount of water bears chased after him. It was a full clan of 25.

'Then run the other way, don't drag me into this.' Licht calls but Draywein was insistent on going to his master. Hopefully, he'll still be alive after Licht deals with them.

Licht runs to his siblings and pulls at their arms harshly, "We have to get out of here now." he deadpans. Both Leonhard and Roslyn look up at Licht with their eyes wide and tears in their eyes. Licht's chest tightens with an emotion unknown to him, but he brushes it away calling it an effect of stress.

Licht runs with both his siblings and directs them back to the village. Draywein, however, still ran towards them in a state of fear. He doubted he could slay them in his current state.

"This isn't good," William mutters to himself, a stampede of monsters sighted was soon arriving and he couldn't find either Licht, Leonhard, or Roslyn. His wife, Lyra, was pacing around in his study. She kept muttering to herself but he couldn't hear a word she said. But anyone could tell that she was concerned.

"Excuse me, My Lord," a guard interrupts. He kneels and bows his head, "I apologize. We are yet to find the Young Lords and Miss."

Tears flow from Lyra's eyes, and William goes to comfort his wife though he is quite troubled himself. If he just knew where they were, he would be at ease. He gave a sigh and frowned, "Please keep them safe," he whispered up to the gods.

As the guard leaves, Gerald comes in, and seeing the sullen look on his parents' faces he didn't expect good news.

"Dammit," He growls in frustration. A knight was supposed to protect the country and fight for those dear to him, though now he couldn't even find those he had promised to protect. He was a failure as a knight.

'Oh Licht. Where are you? Your big bro's worried sick over here.'
