"You, my boy, have the making of a young prodigy. How would you like to go to the Arias Magic Academy?"
"Huh?" Licht looks up at his father with narrowed eyes. William's eyes sparkled with newfound motivation, as he runs up the platform, dragging Licht behind him.
"Licht, I need to ask a favor of you," William asks with a slight bow. Licht opens his mouth to respond, but he is promptly interrupted. "I want you to try your best to kill me. No holding back."
"What?" Licht looked at his father with furrowed brows. He was confused, his father had just asked him to kill him.
"Oh sorry. I hope you didn't take it the wrong way," William clears up. "I'm just asking you to try to kill me with all you've got. I don't actually want you to kill me...if that makes any sense."
They both walk to the stone platform and William pulls his guard up with his knees slightly bent as he pours all of his concentration on Licht. Licht sighs and swings his wooden sword in the air; he glances at William for a brief moment. [Teleport]
After appearing right behind William, Licht makes the same half-hearted slash that took Roslyn off balance. William expected this and parries with his own piece of wood. Twisting his body, he looks Licht in the eye and makes a stab at his chest. Licht slaps the blade away neatly with the flat of the blade and once again he disappears.
William shuts his eyes and focuses his attention on his surroundings when suddenly his steady pace of breath ceases. The killing intent he suddenly felt, was unlike any other he had felt in his previous years on the battlefield. While William had been shivering, Licht shifted position and with his feet crossed, left in front of right. He spun on his left foot, the right coming up and out, catching William squarely in the jaw drawing him out of his thoughts.
That kick is not something a child should be able to execute, William thought. He spat out a small pint of blood and crouched down to steady himself. The kick had been precisely aimed for the lower jaw. William looked up at his son and they met eyes. To William, Licht now had an air of superiority to him that he had never noticed before. It made the fight all the more interesting.
William stood up to his feet, unsteadily albeit. He gave a grin and held his sword to his chest. From this point on, he was going to give his best.

He lost. He lost miserably; he felt an urge to stab himself to death. Licht had literally beat him half to death; hitting the wooden stick constantly at his abdomen and back. As a constantly aging man, that was the second most sacred place.
William bit his arm and let out a muffled sob. Lyra giggled softly and continued healing him. Though she was just as surprised as her husband. Licht was becoming more unbelievable with each day that passed. She couldn't keep up.
William was now fully healed and bouncing on his heels. He places his palm on his face and gives a small chuckle. That little chuckle soon became a burst of loud and hysterical laughter.
"I knew it!" William yelled out, effectively startling everyone. His son will no longer be looked down upon. His primary aim is to make Licht a student of the greatest school on the continent; The Arias Magic Academy.
"Umm so, can I leave?"
"Not so fast kid! We're gonna spar until either one of us drops! You hear me!" William yelled, drawing out his sword again and charging towards Licht. Licht sighed. It's not like he had a choice really, his father was especially stubborn towards things that he wanted.
They went at it till sundown, and William had been bruised to the point that no-one could recognize him. Lyra didn't have enough mana to heal him fully, and with William's constant complaining, Licht had no choice but to heal him along with his mother. Letting out another one of his secrets.
After dinner, he went straight to bed and went back and re-thought all of his life changing decisions. Licht was drifting off to sleep when he heard a quiet whisper.
This was because, since his evolution, Licht had become sensitive to his surroundings. All of his senses heightened.
"How come the kid's still alive? Can't you do anything right?" A harsh voice whispered. Licht slowly got up from his bed and quietly stalked to the door.
"I don't know what happened! I'm sure I put it there! Please don't kill me! Have mercy!" Another vice whisper-yelled.
Ahh, Licht though. So, it was them.
Earlier, during breakfast, a slow-acting poison had been put into Licht's breakfast. He had appraised it and although he didn't have poison resistance, there was no way for them to know that weak poison like that could not affect a dragon like him.
"If you fail one more time, I'll personally end you. My master has no time for the shenanigans that you're trying to pull."
"I won't fail you again Master Ains. You have my word!"
Licht leaned on the door and sighed. It seemed to him like he couldn't get a day's rest. Someone seemed to have it out for him and the only clue that he had was the name 'Ains' and even that could be an alias. Another sigh. Although Lady luck will always be on his side, things were not going the way he had planned at all.
