Chapter 55 - First Day Of Training. (4)

"If you say so…" Sarah said hesitantly. She looked around and found the largest foot hold and placed her right foot on it.She found the next largest one and placed her left hand on it. Then her left foot, then her right hand. She completed this process multiple times. It turned into a rhythm in her head.

Left foot, hold, look around- Right hand, hold, look around- Left hand, hold, look around- Right foot, hold, look around- again!

She took in deep breaths and slowly lowered herself down to the ground. About 20 minutes later, she found herself back on both feet, back onto the reliable ground, the trusty, flat, solid ground. She also found herself shaking, in Max's arms.

Max was holding her, silent tears fell down her face. He stroked her head, whispering to her, "It's going to be ok. Don't worry, you're down now. You don't ever need to go up that wall again. Don't worry, it's ok Sarah. It's ok"

Sarah hugged him back. A few moments later and Sarah had mostly calmed down. Her tears had stopped her shaking had ceased but the fear she had experienced, was still fresh in her mind.

"Geez you two. Get a room." Somebody said with a snicker.

Sarah, still in shock from the heights, didn't even register what was just said but Max, Max sure did. His head snapped around and he glared at the owner of the voice.

"Buzz off." He said, glaring holes into Alex.

"What? You guys have been standing there forever. Can't you guys wait until tonight? Or preferably, wait until next month is over. If you guys want a room with privacy, you're gonna have to go into a bathroom or one of the changing rooms by the pool because all the rooms in here are made of glass." Alex said with a laugh.

Sarah, now fully aware, was raging. She balled up her fists, and stomped over to him. "You wanna fight Alex? Cause we both know that I am way stronger then you will ever be." Sarah challenged. She threw off her silk gloves from last night that she had not taken off in fear of setting her bed ablaze at night and not realizing it.

She got in his face and said, "Right, softboy?"

Sarah had chipped a hole into Alex's ego by calling him a softboy. Sure, he was good looking and was on the baseball team, he was popular and good at snarky comments. Out of a few things he lacked, visible muscles were one of them. Sarah, on the other hand, was obviously strong. She looked delicate usually but if she had ever showed you what happened when she flexed, you would think that you had been looking at an arm that does not belong to her.

Both of them knew that if they had gotten into a fight, Sarah would win it.

Because he was very aware of this, Alex began to back away from her. "No, no no. I don't think that a fight is necessary." Alex tried to coax her out of wanting to fight him.

"Yea? Well, now I am angry and want to fight. So, you will fight me! Deal?" She said with an evil grin.

Alex nervously laughed and looked over at Sarah's guide, trying to signal from Terrance to stop her. Terrance responded with a shake of his head. He wanted to see who was stronger in a fight between them anyways so, why not now?

Alex continued to back away. "You see now, why would you want to fight me? There is no valid reason!"

"Do I even need a reason to fight you? Isn't me wanting a fight good enough of a reason to fight you? Besides, I do have a reason to fight you. You mocked Max and I in front of everybody. Where were you when I needed help? You were just idly sitting there, watching me freak out, while you laughed when I received some comfort. Who even does that?"

Alex knew that Sarah was right. He shouldn't have laughed. It was understandable that Trinity nor the guides had done anything to help her because they didn't know the first thing about her. They probably didn't even know her first name. Alex should have been over there, trying to get her to calm down. To help her when she needed help. He bowed his head in shame. "Your right. I'm sorry Sarah. I Should have been there to support you. At the very least, I should have just kept my mouth shut and not have mock you and Max. How about this, one free punch in the stomach. Deal?"

Sarah pondered over his suggestion. She knew what the others were expecting her to do. To say 'just leave me alone. I'm not going to punch you.' Instead, Sarah planned to make full use out of this chance.

"If you say so." Sarah said aloud with a shrug.

Alex stood with his hands on his side, Sarah brought her hand back and drove her fist into his stomach with a swift uppercut.

Alex braced for impact but before her hand touched him, it had come to a complete stop, only a few centimetres away from his gut. Then, Sarah fell to the ground with a loud 'Bang!'

For a moment, Everyone was stunned and silent. Then, "Sarah!" Said a shrill female voice.

Trinity came racing over to Sarah who was sprawled onto the ground. It surprised them that Trinity had been the one to run there first. Trinity herself was surprised. She felt as if somebody had wanted her to go over to her. To make sure that Sarah was ok. Something tugged in Sarah's head that Sarah was important and that she should be over there to make sure she was alright.

When Sarah had been terrified on the rock wall, she even thought that there was a voice telling her to go and help Sarah. How insane was that? That would never really happen. She must be going insane!
