Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: A little bit of healing

Kila's body tensed immediately as she gazed upon a person she never wanted to see again, "so what's your name?" Fan'er asks her. Like hell was she in the mood to deal with this chick right now. The burns on Kila's body and face began to tingle, a constant reminder of the hell she went through when recieving them. "My name is none of your concern." Kila says as she tries to step around Fan'er who raises her arms and steps in front of her again.

Kila narrows her gaze, "can I help you?" She asks her. Fan'er glares at her, "you need to apologize for bumping me." She points out. Doctor An watches close by with interest, it seems like something fun was going to happen. "I don't think I need to do anything of the sort. If I think about it aren't you the one who bumped me?" Kila asks as she attempt to step around her again. Once again her attempt to walk away was blocked, her patience with this person was beginning to run thin. Doctor An who would have enjoyed to keep watching until something interesting happen notice two knights heading in their direction.

"Time to go." Doctor An says as he grabs Kila arm and pulls her from the situation immediately. "Why do I feel as though I know that woman?"" Fan'er mutters. "Fan'er that woman, did you know her?"Ping ask as they still watched the empty spot the woman stood in recently. Fan'er turns away, "no. come on my dear Ping we should head back to the house. Mother's probably worried." She says. Ping glance back, whoever that woman was she definitely seemed shocked in those mere seconds that her eyes met with Fan'er's. Who was she? And why did she hide behind that viel?

"Kila. what was that back there?" Doctor An finally asked as they were close to the gate that led out of Yan Empire. Kila flinches, "it doesn't matter." she says turning to look out the window. "I wouldn't say that. After all that look in your eyes said otherwise You almost looked as if you would have killed her on the spot the way you were clenching your fist back there." He says. Kila turns an icy glare in his direction, "I don't believe I'm obliged to tell you anything. Don't forget our deal from earlier, Doc." She says her tone so cold he was sure she could freeze fire.

It seems he has touched a very sensitive topic, "yeah, I remember our deal well. Don't worry I won't force you to tell me." he says. But that doesn't stop him from being curious. Kila's past, even she wished she could forget it. A life that didn't belong to her to begin with and yet she was pissed. If only she could forget that as well, that other life she lived before she came to this world.

*Beeeppp!*

"Clear!" The voice yells though all he could see was a blurry vision of white coats and a numb hopeless feeling. Is this really where I die? ha? I guess it's just as well. " The voices slowly begins to fade. "Stay with us! Don't you dare die!" Ah! The only person who actually care for me. If only I loved you more and treated you sincerely. You still cry for me, Evette.

"He's reaching cardiac arrest! Another charge! Doctor!" And that was the last thing he remembered before he slipped into darkess.

"ila...! Kila!" Doctor An waves a hand in fron of her face until she finally blinks, "we're here, you fell asleep so quickly. You must have really been tired." He says as they stepped from the carraige. "Yes, it seems we should rest first. Tomorrow we shall leave this mountain." She says. "Ah yes, the search of that jewel. Do you have leads on it's whereabouts?" He asks. She was quiet for a while before speaking softly, "we start in Ronin Valley." She says. Doctor An pales immediately, "run that by me again." He says with a bright fake smile.

"You heard me, apparently that's where the rumors started." Kila says. Doctor An rubs his temple and blew out a sigh, "I think I decided to follow a crazy person. Do you know the rumors about the place itself?" He asks. Kila shrugs, "a bit. I hear the people there were eating other people." She says. Doctor An nods, "that's right. They first kill you with kindness then they really kill you then make you their meal. You must be nuts to go there." he says.

"It's the only lead I have." Kila turns to him her eyes showed sadness. Doctor An blows out a breath, "fine, whatever if I get killed and eaten I'm coming back to haunt you. Also about that cure of yours, when will you take it?" He asks. She freezes, it seems he was good at tossing out questions that were right to the point. What a blunt man who doesn't hold back, though he definitely has a point, why haven't she taken it? All the while she wants to repair her face, it seems she's so used to it, that she's almost forgotten.

"I guess, I've forgotten." She says removing her viel and applying the medicine to it. If only it was enough for her body as well, but this will only cure a portion of her face burns. "Woah, that's seriously fast acting, you can clearly see the difference." He says as she puts the viel back on. "Don't you want to see?" He asks. "No, I know there is no point in looking, the burns only faded a bit." She says. Well that is true, but it still did some serious healing, perhaps she will be brave enough to look one day.
