Chapter 12 - Chapter 11: It Takes Two

Razo quietly stepped in the darkness. He crept through the back window space when he heard the demon speak. The tone of this demon struck fear in Razo. He continued trying to dismiss this fear, he had a duty. A way to gain Arakna's trust, save the lamb he thought.

He peered through what looked to be a bedroom. His gold eyes scanned the room when saw a blanket over a small body. It's the boy, he thought.

"Hey lamb." He whispered.

Ian didn't move.

Shit, he thought.

"Hey lamb, it's me from the other day. Arakna's tied up friend." He whispered this time.

Ian was hesitant, then small fingers peered in vision and pulled so his brown eyes could look at Razo.

Razo put his index finger to his lips to make sure the child kept quiet. Suddenly a loud bang occurred, the house shook and part of the roof slanted down. Ian screamed, but immediately his mouth was covered by Razo's hand. Their bodies against the wall, Razo's wings were now solid gold like his hair and eyes. His wings surrounded Ian like a shield. Ian looked up at Razo who was looking at him with his piercing gold eyes.

"Shhhh", he whispered again, "We need to get out of here. Okay?"

Ian nodded.

Razo walked to the opening and lifted the boy to climb out, following him after. He couldn't fly, it would be a distraction.

"Come on." He said quietly, but stern.

"But my mom." Ian said, yanking his hand.

"She's probably dead." He bluntly stated.

"I'm not leaving without my mom!" Ian yelled.

"Shhhhh!" Razo raised his hands and looked around. "Fuck, lamb. You're going to get us killed."

There was another slam, with a burst of air, causing the trees to shake.

"Shit!" Razo yelled, grabbing the boy and hardening his wings once more when Ian felt this demons arms hold him tightly as his feet left the ground. Ian screamed, they were flying, trees were breaking as the demon slammed into them, grunting each time he hit another tree. They stopped, as Razo dug his feet into the ground.

"Run little lamb." Razo said in pain.

"Run as fast as you can, I don't know how long I can hold him." Razo's wings softened and turned red again. Opening his wings to release the boy, the strong evil demon was already walking toward them.

"Run!" Razo said as he shoved the boy who was stammering, crying, and not looking back. The demon threw his weapon at the boy, but Razo's armored wing protected him.

The demon curled his fingers, when the weapon flew right back to him.

His black eyes looked through Razo.

"What are you doing worm?" It asked.

Razo's eyes looked for Arakna. Where the hell was she?

"Who the hell you calling worm, you fucking snake?" He shouted back, hardening his wings and flickering gold feathers like little daggers.

All they could do was scratch a demon like this one.

What the hell were they going to do?

All of a sudden he felt a huge cold claw on his face and his body flew in the air. This is it, I'm fucking dead Razo thought. All of a sudden, this demon went flying. Razo's body jolted flying away from the other demon.

Razo looked to see Arakna. Her eyes glaring red, her red demon energy flowed out of her body, and her hands had turn to claws. The same red energy that had pierced him now whipped around like fine hair around her. She'd lost control, all he could sense from her was rage and a strong desire to kill.

He could try to help her, but he feared she would try to kill him too. What choice did he have? He had to try. Either Arakna might kill him or this dark demonic being for sure was going to kill him. Suddenly, a low growling voice came from Arakna.

"Save her." Is all she could get out. It's all that kept repeating in her head.

Razo looked down at the cottage. Either he could help Arakna or save a worthless human. Without a chance to decide, Arakna's energy wrapped around his ankle and threw him down to the ground.

Razo slammed into the ground, dirt and rocks flew into the air. "Damnit!" Razo yelled as he got up from the dirt. He rolled his shoulders, looking up in the night sky and saw only the stars. He looked at the cottage, which now had a hole broken into the side. Arakna must've been slammed out this way, he thought. The weakened wall could no longer support the now hanging roof. Razo crept in to see Elle's exposed body, still hanging on the wall. Razo grimaced, running into the bedroom, grabbing the blanket the boy had covered himself with. He grabbed Elle by the waist, placing his ear on her chest. Yeah, this thing was alive-barely he thought. Grabbing the knives out Elle's hands, her arms propped to her side. Razo wrapped her body and ran toward the direction of the lamb, trying his best not to look or slow down. This demon was quick, massive, and strong. There's no way they can kill this demon, he thought. As he ran he sensed two angels ahead. Great, he thought carrying Elle's body. He started to walk through the trees that revealed an opening. There was a small pond, the lamb sat on a rock as one angel with long white hair kneeled tending to a wound on the boy's knee. The other angel with short hair had his weapon drawn and faced him.

Razo sighed, "Just get this over with."
