Chapter 33 - Chapter thirty-three

Roselyn was looking at the creature who saved her life, astonished by its beauty, she couldn't believe what she just saw.

Everyone described that dragon as the evil's symbol but if it was so evil then why would he save her? Pagos bowed his head to be closer to her level and meet her eye.

She was scared, she couldn't trust that animal fully, yet something inside her was telling her he was good.

She felt a bond with that creature, so she tried to take a step ahead, slowly and carefully. Pagos looked at her like he didn't trust her either and was on the lookout.

Another step was taken by Roselyn. Pagos this time leaned his face ahead cautiously, now they were just a few meters distant.

"Thanks for helping me."

She whispered to him.

He seemed to understand, since he lightly nodded his head and leaned still closer.

They were so close that they could barely touch. Rose could feel his breath hitting her upper body, she trembled as the cold was giving her shivers but the view of Pagos' snout and eyes was so much worth it.

He softly hit her with its enormous snout but in a delicately friendly way. She smiled, trying to move her head toward him. His gaze immediately fell on his hand, careful to what she was doing.

She slowed the movement and finally laid the palm of her hand onto his check. He was still, barely blinking, keeping his gaze straight at her but with the corner of his eye checking what her hand was doing.

She didn't move for some instants to wait for Pagos' reaction, which moved his snout upside down as if he wanted to give her his consent. Then she finally caressed him.

Roselyn's fear disappeared and felt as a thrill of joy ran all over her body. A dragon let her caress him. Was it all a dream?

Andreas woke up in the meantime and was staring at the scene from the back, speechless. In all his life Pagos had never let someone get that close. It could be the best sign and, at the same time, the proof that her nature may not be good.

Afterall, there were so many questionable signs.

When Pagos' gaze met his, his snout backed off bruptically, making Roselyn hold her breath for a second fearing that he may react.

"Cool, Pagos."

Andreas whispered not to scare him.

The dragon raised his head and turned back. He reared up and opened his enormous magnificent wings to fly away in a blink of an eye.

His flight provoked a wave of wind that blew Roselyn's hair.

"What the hell Rose?? Do you know how dangerous Pagos is?" Andreas yelled spitefully.

Roselyn rushed to grab his head noticing how it was still blending.

"You're blending a lot."

She said concerned, trying to look around to see if she could find some kind of an occlusive dressing of it. She took off her shirt and bit part of the cloth off and bent it over his head.

"There's no way I'm letting you walk around barely naked."

He said, with the whisper of voice he was left with, he seemed so weak and was looking drastically pale.

"Shut up"

Roselyn replied and proceeded on helping him to land on tee's trunk. Maybe by doing so the bleeding would stop.

She sobbed and put her hands on her forehead clearly concerned about his conditions.

"Do you remember I am immortal right?"

He said, chucking, then coughing.

"Then why do you keep blending??"

She questioned, walking nervously trying to figure out a solution.

"Because a dragon hit me,"

He stopped, to take his breath:

"And dragon's wounds are more serious,"

He coughed once again.

"That's why I warned you. If a normal dragon can make me this way just imagine what Pagos could do to you. He killed millions of people."

"But he didn't harm me. Where's your phone?"

"Are you taking advantage of the situation to check my messages?"

Roselyn rolled her eyes to Andreas' attitude, how could he waste his breath to joke and say such silly things?

"I have to call someone and leave mine on the table."

"Wear my shirt first."

He said gazing at her visible bra.

Roselyn replied cursing and delicately took off his shirt to wear it.

"Inside my left soak."

Roselyn immediately took his shoe off and pulled his phone out to call Margaret.

"Help. Andreas is wounded. I don't know where I am. Someone attacked us and there were dragons and.."

"Someone who?"

Margaret's voice interrupted Roselyn's anxious hectic speaking.

"What was it? Hmm… D-David!"

Margaret hung off the phone.

"She will be here in a minute. Don't say you touched Pagos. Just say Pagos interfered in the fight and then flee away."

Andreas whispered in lower voice.

"Why?"

Roselyn asked but Andreas didn't have time to reply when Margaret appeared.

She rushed to carry his head and took Roselyn's shirt off to stare at the wound.

"It was a poisoned dragon"

She stated. Then gazed at Roselyn

"Back off."

She commanded, Rose immediately walked away.

Margareth closed her eyes, layed her arm upon his wound and whispered inaudible spells.
