Chapter 35 - Chapter thirty-five

He had to stop dating her, or stop whatever they were doing. He couldn't risk that much.

He nodded to Margaret. It was the right thing to do.

Even if that was a magic school, like in any other school, relationships between students and professors were severely prohibited.

Moreover, Roselyn was not highly acclaimed in the school, she was seen like a potential danger by both professors and students.

He glanced at David, which was enjoying the scene of him getting scolded with a proud toothy smile.

Margareth walked in front of David and laid her hand on his, making appear a metal chain that tied together his hands.

He gazed at the chain frowning, but before he can even try to complain, with a hand gesture Margaret teleported them in the secret Xilentia's dungeon. It was the first time someone visited in years. Stale air made David assume a sickened facial expression, but beside that and the dust it surprising hold up well during the years. Two small windows were standing on lateral walls but were not successfully lighting that place. Also the dim light shed by candles positioned here and there on the dusty shelf gave no help. The few sun rays coming from the windows were exposing dozen bondage ropes that strung from the frontal dirty mirror. Margaret walked toward a chamber surrounded by bars, pulling David inside through the chain.

His heart was palpitating up in his throat at the thought of being imprisoned in that gruesome place, probably forever.

He sat on what seemed almost destroyed chair and gazed at Margareth, showing his despondent look while he stack his hands together and beg:

"I'm so sorry. Please don't let me here to die."

His weight on that weak chair made it croak, trembling.

"You will stay here until you will tell us everything."

Margaret stated with a severe tone of voice not touched by his any guilty feelings.

David then seeing her attitude changed his approach, leaning toward them to whisper:

"I will kill you both! You don't imagine how many people already are monitoring Roselyn. She will be the first one to die and you will follow her!"

He shook his wrists, trying to get himself free from the tight metal chain. But to his bad luck that was a magic proof chain and gave him a powerful, unexpected shock.

Andreas was the one standing with a smirk on his lips now and didn't lose the occasion to get back at him for earlier and whispered back to him:

"I had the last laugh, huh?"

David yelled for both pain and anger and grit his teeth to suffocate the excruciating pain.

They walked away, hearing his threatens and screaming.

David had always annoyed them. He was Andrea's brother and was sided with dark magicians as soon as he learned how to use his powers. His behaviour was giving signs about his genuine nature from childhood, when he tried to suffocate Andreas while he was taking a bath at just 4 years old. His parents, however, always took his side and defended him no matter what. That is the reason why Andreas didn't think twice before accepting Margaret's proposal to assist her in building the first magician's school in Solaria.

Andreas was heading now to his mansion brooding about how he could tell Roselyn that whatever was between them couldn't last any longer. He just accepted to try to date her that exact night she would think he's insane for changing his thought in few hours.

Maybe he could just tell her the truth, but he knew her well enough to say that she wouldn't accept people getting in the middle and would still fight for him.

He was feeling a lump in his throat as he tried to think of a credible speech. His eyes were pinching as they slightly filled up with tears. His view blurred, and he tried to prevent them from blinking quickly. Was he really about to cry?

He lifted his head, hopeful that this second shoot would stifle the tears. He had never cried in hundreds of years, not even for worse things that having to break up with a girl that he didn't even date.

"Am I getting weak?" He questioned to himself when his second attempt turned out in vain.

Just few kilometers were left to drive to reach his mansion but his view got so blurry that he could barely drive making it impossible to focus on the street. He checked around to see if he could find a spot in which he could park the car long enough to recover.
