Chapter 20 - chapter twenty

"There is one thing you can do to try not to get caught, I can teach you what to do."

Roselyn nods.

Andreas moves his hands creating a passage.

Roselyn backs off, puzzled.

"Walk through it," he whispers.

Roselyn breathes deeply and walks behind Andreas.

They teleport in the same wood where Roselyn was tested the first time.

"I can show you tomorrow's test and teach you what you should do."

Roselyn nods, smiling. It was very nice for him to help her, maybe he cared about her deeply down.

From the ground emerges water, which slowly accumulates reaching Roselyn's knees.

"What would you do?" Andreas asks, pointing to the water.

it now reached her thighs, becoming colder and colder.

"I don't know" Roselyn murmured, trying to stay afloat.

"Think, Rose. Think." Andreas says.

Water reached her neck now, making her shake for the cold.

Roselyn looks around to see where the water may come from when she has an idea.

"I would try to freeze water."

He smiles.

"Look," he says, diving in. He closes his eyes and starts focusing. Water overheats and begins vaporing, so that its volume reduces drastically.

"This is what you should do."

"I didn't even think of that.." Roselyn says quite worried.

"I know. You're lucky you have me." He says winking.

Roselyn giggles shyly. The water dissolved completely, and it leaves sultry air.

"What if I am sided with evil magicians?" She asks with a low voice as if she was afraid to hear his answer.

"Roselyn your results don't show any evil aptitude so no need to worry." He seems calm, but it was perceptible through his gaze a doubtful concern.

Roselyn noticing it looks down the floor, worried.

"I am here for you. Whatever happens." He whispers, looking now sincere.

"Do you want to practice or to come back home?" He asks inclining his head and waiting for an answer.

"I'd rather come back home. I'm tired."

Roselyn says receiving a nod from Andreas who moves his hand creating once again a passage.

Roselyn walks in, followed by Andreas.

They are teleported back home. Roselyn seems to feel relieved to be back home.

Roselyn walks to her room when Andreas whispers to her. "Wait .. Rose.."

She turns around facing him; he was barely looking at her in the eyes.

"About earlier.."

Roselyn turns red with embarrassment.

He warms his voice and talks again "It's clear that we are both attracted to each other. But I don't think there could ever be something more than what we are now."

Roselyn remains still hearing his statement, not that she was expecting anything different. Still, inside out she was a bit disappointed.

"Okay." She says turning around and walking away.

He leans in, hesitating whether to follow her, but then does nothing.

Birds chipping as sunbeams make their way through the shutter. She slowly opens her eyes, she gets up reluctantly. With a slow walk she leads to the kitchen, Andreas hadn't woken up yet, which meant that she could brood over her last night's answer "okay". She shakes her head, "why did you say okay?? Like you could say something smarter or seem careless. But answering "okay"?? He didn't ask you if you wanted ketchup on your French friends." She rolls her eyes "embarrassing Roselyn" she comments.

She hears Andreas's steps approaching, so she heads to the pan and quickly turns on the stove. She drops in eggs.

Pretending to cook was better than getting caught talking to herself at 7 am.

"Good-morning," he says.

He had his hair messed and his eyes were slightly puffy from the sleep but to Rose; he was looking hotter than ever.

"Morning" Rose says turning off the stove since the scrambled eggs were ready.

They quickly have breakfast talking, probably because of the embarrassment after last night. When they arrive at school, they find the entire hall crowded with people. A cloud of smoke was coming from the entrance and people seemed scared. Andreas gets out of the car, racing toward the professors who were whispering inside of the building.

Roselyn trying to walk through the crows trying to see if she could spot Karen in the middle of the chaos when a roar comes from the sky making all students scream in fear.

"Roselyn" Andreas scream is so powerful that she can hear him despite the noise of the group of students near her.

He runs toward her but it was too late, Pagos appears flying hanged toward her, the students run away screaming in fear.

Roselyn bends down and impulsively realizes a shout generating a strong wind that pushes the dragon a few meters away.

Now everyone's gaze was on her, she could hear people whispering, they seemed scared of her, even more than they were of the dragons. They back off, leaving her isolated. Even Karen wasn't looking at her.

Andreas, who now reached her, whispers, "this is not what you were supposed to do."

Pagos flies around the now in pieces entrance of the school, gazing at her.

"What should I do?" She blurts out. It seems like she does something and it's wrong.

"It's too late." He says teeth bared and jaw clamped, staring at the professors and council's members reaching them.

Now they were in trouble.
