Chereads / the Enchantress / Chapter 26 - Chapter twenty five

Chapter 26 - Chapter twenty five

She holds her breath underwater, trying to swim to the surface.

But every time she seemed to reach the surface, a mysterious force was pushing her down.

She was left without strength because of her effort in vain to reach the surface. She was on the point of passing out when she has visions of her adoptive mother, calling her name and opening her arms. Although her vision was blurry, she could see very well that near her, was standing Angelina with the same enormous smile on her face. She tries to regain strength to reach her adoptive mother. When finally she hugs her, she's beamed directly to the wood.

Everyone was staring at her, speechless and careful to notice every detail or any mistake in her performance.

She was breathing heavenly and was feeling exhausted.

"Good job, Rose." Margaret looked at her with a proud look on her face.

She claps her hands, smiling hugely, and everyone follows her gesture. Andreas was the first one to clap immediately after Margaret. Although he wasn't knelling out of every pore of his body, it was clear he was happy to see her succeed.

"You must be exhausted. We should go home now." Andreas says. Margaret nods, "see you guys tomorrow." She says waving her hand while Andreas snaps his finger, so that in a jiff they're at Andreas' house.

He lays her down on her bed gently, making her chuckle, "I'm not dying, you know that?"

He smiles, "I just wanted to be nice in your last night here."

"Last?"

He nods, "yes, then you will be assigned a room like other students."

Roselyn scoffs, "can't I stay here?"

He giggles. "No, you can't."

He moves her hair away from her face staring at her lips, she gets closer to him but he stands up "Goodnight." He says.

"Night."

In a few instants, she falls into a deep sleep.

The next morning Roselyn was wandering around the school's flat where each student was standing, it was in front of the school so that it could be reached easily.

She sees a middle-aged woman, from her uniform Roselyn deduces it might be the janitor, so she asks her for some information. After a brief chat she gets her room number: 138, second floor.

She goes upstairs and examines the hall to look for her room.

138

There it is.

She knocks on the door but nobody answered so she walks in, "Hi" she says noticing a group of girls. They all turn around and give her a quick gaze and then begin to chat again like nothing happened.

"So first on the podium is definitely Andreas. Like he is so hot! Now he's single and I hope ready to mingle!" They all laugh.

"He is, but he's too boring and that type of boy who wouldn't even love his mom. Nah. I need a reciprocated love." Another girl answers. Roselyn rolls her eyes. Why in that school every girl was obsessed with Andreas?

Roselyn ignores them and carries her suitcase near to a bed.

The short-haired blonde girl who liked Andreas looks at her and coughs loudly, catching Rose's attention.

"That's my bed. You can have that one." She points a bed near the window so Rose nods moving the clothes upon the other bed.

"So you're the Enchantress?" The third girl says raising her eyebrow.

"Yes. Nice to meet you, my name is Roselyn." She forces a smile.

"Be careful with your powers, I don't want our room to be burned down by Pagos." The short-haired girl, who probably was the girl she had to share her room with, rolls her eyes and whispers: "Why did they assign me the crazy one?"

"Excuse me?" Roselyn frowns.

The other girls giggle, making Roselyn glowering at them. Girls are so annoying when in a group, they felt powerful and the need to undermine other girls to be liked more.

Roselyn turns around when she hears a knock at the door.

"Hi!" Her adoptive mother hugs her tightly, sobbing.

Roselyn smiles hugely as her eyes fill up with tears. Her heart was racing and she could barely believe to her eyes.

It's just been a week, but it seemed forever since she last saw her, and she never got the chance to say goodbye or talk to her.

They hug for a few minutes when Roselyn closes the door behind her so they can speak in private.

They sit on a bench in the garden.

"How are you??" Anne asks, caressing her back.

"I'm fine. I still need to get used to this world." Rose says, chucking.

"Yea.. everything feels different when you're not around. The house seems empty.." she tries not to cry, looking up and swallowing the lump in her throat.

"I know..." Roselyn mumbles looking down the floor.

"You can always come back home." Anne says with a light smile.

"I need answers."

Her adoptive mother shakes her head, holding her hand. "Please come back."

Roselyn hugs her, "You can't ask me something like that. Right now I want.. I need to find about my past, about my future."
