Pagos kept roaring, flying around the sky.
"What's going on here?" Carl asks, gazing at them both, with a furrowed look on his face.
Pagos flies down once again, he roars to Carl, then opens his enormous mouth, ice flames come out, so close to hitting them.
"We need to drive it away!" said another man, Andreas said nothing, he just kept staring at the dragon.
"We can't do that." Miss Margaret observes.
"He wants her." She continues gazing at Rose, who shakes her head. Whatever Margaret meant, Roselyn wasn't ready for that.
Pagos roars, spitting ice flames. Roselyn throws herself down on the floor, avoiding the ice. Pagos flies away, giving her few instants to rest. Her heart was racing, and she was so terrified that she could feel it in her throat. Her mouth became dry. She forces herself to swallow and slowly stand up, trying to keep her balance despite the shaking of he legs.
"Roselyn." She hears his voice in her head, but weirdly he wasn't speaking. She stares at him, puzzled. Maybe the fall got her hearing voices, which was possible considering how scared she was in that moment.
"Fight him and make him go away. I know you can do it." The voice in his head was echoing.
Andreas nods, so that she could understand he was really speaking to her through his mind.
"What are you doing?" Carl Smith intervenes once again. If he had a talent, that would definitely be be annoying. He shakes Andrew's arm, making him break eye contact with Rose and stare at him. If looks could kill.
But there wasn't enough time to argue, Pagos was launching a surprise attack, but this time, the direction was precise enough to hit her. Splinters of ice were reaching her extremely fast.
Roselyn quickly turns around and, in that exact moment, time slows down. She looks around and everyone was paralyzed. She was the only one able to move. "Andreas!" She tries to call him and shakes him, but nothing seemed to work.
Pagos, on the contrary, could move very well and was staring at her from above, moving his wings up and down.
He folds back to take a speed run and then hurls towards her.
Roselyn takes a long breath, trying to gather the courage to react. She stretches her arm and closes her eyes. She creates a ball of energy which fast hits the dragon, impeding its flight.
The dragon roars and flies again, flapping its huge blue wings and provoking a strong wind.
Roselyn knew that she barely hit the creature, she needed something stronger, it was her turn to attack, or at least to defend herself.
She couldn't control her powers perfectly, which meant that she didn't know if her attempts would succeed.
She raises both her arms toward the dragon; concentrating deeply and hollers as she throws a ball of energy against the dragon. She screams releasing all her strength creating a surge of energy, after a few seconds she throws a huge ball of water energy, she used all her strength, her knees were shaking because her fear and her struggle. The energy ball increases in size as she reaches the dragon becoming a surge of energy that hits powerful the dragon and makes it crash against the close roof, breaking it into millions pieces and provoking a sequence of collapse.
The creature's body falls down for meters when it finally hits the floor, making a tremendous noise.
Then silence falls, in that mess Roselyn somehow caused, in that silence that totally matched to her surrounding made of silent soul, nobody still hadn't awakened from that condition of immobility. She was the only one able to move.
She tries to look at Andreas, hoping for an answer, at least for a sign of life.
"Come on, wake up!!" She tries to scream, as she looks around. It seemed all so unreal. Her legs now were shaking so hard that she could barely feel them.
She hears noises coming from the remains of the school. She turns around quickly to see Pagos hardly climbing over the structure. He roars once he reaches what was left of the building's top and then finally flies away. Roselyn smiles happily, relieved. Meanwhile, everyone was slowly finally moving from their immobility and in a few of seconds students, professors, come back to life.
Rose smile's became wider as she sees Andreas being able to move
"Good job, dear." Margaret says.
Roselyn smiles shocked, she was aspecting her to be furious about the damage she has caused to the school, instead she had a huge proud smile on her face and was looking at her like a proud mom would look at her child.
"Andreas, we need to talk." Andreas, who was smiling as well, became more serious hearing Carl's statement.
The other council's members nodded at Carl's exclamation so they all walk far enough not to be heard.
"What are you hiding?" Carl asks with a gaze of distrust and disappointment.
Andreas looks down at the floor, probably wondering whether to reveal the truth.
Everyone's gaze was on him, in search of answers, of explanations about why the most evil creature would show up and why he seemed like he was aspecting it. All evidences were against him, were charging him and there was no way out other than decide to lie or to reveal the truth.
