After a couple of hours, Roselyn finally leaves her room just to lead to the kitchen and grab some food. Food was the only thing that got her out of the bed when she was feeling down.
She sees Andreas wasn't there, and she wonders where he could be. Maybe he is in trouble because of her.
Even though she knew Andreas for very little time, she felt like there was a special bond between them. He made her feel in a way that nobody made her felt before. She was feeling alive when she was around him. When he was giving her attention and love, yet vulnerable when he drastically changed his behavior toward her, making her doubt his true intentions. He made her feel weak when her emotions completely depended on him, and he made her feel invincible when he finally kissed her.
She couldn't lie to herself, the way she felt toward him was scaring her to death, but she would never give that feeling up for anything in the world.
Her phone rings so she picks it up quickly, hoping to hear Andreas's voice.
Instead, it was Margareth.
"Hello, Roselyn."
"Hi.." she says murmuring, perplex.
"I'm calling you because I want to talk to you about something. Andreas told me about your uncertain results during examinations and about Pagos."
"Oh.." that's all Roselyn can utter. She didn't know how to justify herself.
"That's why I assisted to your performance days ago. Because I wanted to see your extraordinary capacities. That day I saw a powerful girl, exceptional and smart. So I want to show that to the other members of the council." The woman says, with an excited tone of voice.
"I don't think it's a good idea..." Rosalyn says, shaking her head like if Margareth could see her through the phone.
"Now they are concerned and they may be mad at Andreas, but if you trust me, they will find out why he protected you."
Roselyn remains silent, hesitating, unable to answer.
"I have been working with those people for years I know them very well."
"Okay." Roselyn finally says, insecure.
The only thing she could do was try to help, she had nothing to lose.
"Really?" Margareth seems incredulous for some instants but then she explains: "Here is what you have to do: I will explain to everyone that I called you so that nobody will doubt Andreas. Then I'll ask you to show your powers through some basic examinations. So that when they see your capabilities, they understand why we kept everything secret. I'll send you the address via massage." She hangs up the phone.
Roselyn drops forehead in her hand worried. Thousands of questions were bombarding her mind with concerns.
She wasn't even sure she could trust Margareth after all. However, everyone hated her already, nothing could go worse.
She scoffs as she dresses herself, a casual jeans skirt and a white lace top could go. Not too informal, not too casual.
Rose was doing her makeup when her phone vibrates.
She opens the messages to find over 20 unread messages from Mark, her exboyfriend.
It was the first time she was checking her phone since she's arrived there, but yet she wasn't missing him at all. Reading his messages would get her to reply and replying would lead her to lie to him, maybe even telling him she misses him when she wasn't feeling that way at all.
She opens the unknown message, ignoring Mark's unread messages.
She jots down the address in order to remember it when her phone starts to ring.
She rolls her eyes damning, she barely turned on her phone and she already was stressed enough to turn if off forever.
It was her adoptive mother.
She hesitates whether or not to pick up.
When finally she answers.
"Roselyn?" Her mom says chocked up.
"Hi."
"Oh my god.. you.. how are you!?" Her mother seemed confused like if the last thing she imagined was to receive an answer.
"I'm good." She says trying to choke her tears, last thing she wanted was worrying her.
"Honey... if you need anything .."
"I miss you" she says before her mother could finish her sentence.
"I miss you too." Roselyn could feel her smiling through the phone.
A silence followed as they both tried not to cry.
"I can ask the headmistress if I can visit you next week. If it's okay for you."
"Of course! I'd love that! I really miss you!" Roselyn exclaims with a joyful voice.
After a few minutes of chatting, Roselyn hangs up the phone since it was getting late.
Before entering the restaurant, she takes a few minutes to take the courage and get through the door.
She was having second guessing when she enters the restaurant.
It was a little yet refined place. She sees their table down the hall. When Margareth notices her, she reveals a smile making everyone in the table turn around.
When Andreas sees her, he remains speechless. He was puzzled and irritated at the same time.
Roselyn reaches them strolling. Her heart was racing so hard that she could feel its palpitations inside her chest.
"Thank you for having accepted my invite, Roselyn." Margareth breaks the embarrassing silence.
Roselyn nods to her, gazing at Andreas from the corner of her eye.
