Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

Zen stepped into the studio and his hands were grabbed as he was dragged into the makeup room. "Sorry, you've got a lot of work to do." He gave the makeup artists a sheepish smile. "It's fine, Sir. Are you okay?" One of them asked. "What if I'm not?" He asked as he looked at her. Her eyes widened and she looked back at him sadly. "See. I want to avoid these. Fucking looks of pity. I've gotten them so much. I'm tired of them. So now. I'm fine." He spoke. His entire body was more relaxed than before.

His eyes lost the last bit of life they had. "You're ready, Sir." The lady smiled and Zen nodded. "Thank you." Zen's voice sent shivers up the lady's spine. His voice was low, husky and God did it not have any fucking emotion. "Nate is here to see you." One of the security guards informed. "Send him away. He needs to take care of his family." Zen spoke as he walked onto the set.

"Yeah good. Lean back a little please. Yes. Just like that. Hand straight and head tilted back." The photographer smirked as he got the pictures. Zen just looked way too sinister for some reason. The entire lighting, his clothes and expression just gave off such a cold and dominating aura.

The photographer got his pictures soon and Zen walked back into the dressing room. He got out of his clothes and changed into his normal ones. "Am I a dang vampire? Why is half my life passing by when others sleep?" He asked himself as he got his jacket and went out. "Zen!" He heard and looked to see Nate. "Oh. Hey. I told you to go back. You should." Zen said as he got in the car. "Come on, Zen. What the fuck? Let me come along." Nate spoke as he opened the car door. "Get. The. Fuck. Away. From. Me." Zen growled. Nate gulped as he moved away. 'Don't get close to anyone then you won't have to lose anyone.' Zen told himself.

"Go." He told the driver who drove them to the company. Nate watched as he left and sighed. "Come on, Zen." He whispered as he looked at Arai who shrugged.

Pinkish lips parted, closed, then parted again. The actions repeated until a velvety voice reached her eardrums. "Well?" Ace gave her a very questionable look. Well, she didn't know how to react to this after all.

"Are you sure this is your house?" Her eyes admired the house which looked more like a mansion. She could see how the beautiful the structure was although it was very dark and she hoped she could see it in broad daylight. She tore her eyes away from the sight as he responded to her question, amusement present in his voice as well as his features. "It is. I inherited it from my adoptive parents. I live here whenever I visit this country." She examined his face and his expression. He looked proud and passionate when he spoke about his adoptive parents. Somehow, it made her want to know why and want to know him more. After all, this was their best conversation so far.

Her eyes twinkled with amusement. "Goddamn, Ace. You lived here. Even before? You never told me that!" He chuckled at her reaction as he parked his car smoothly. It might be a sudden thought for the female but she just realized he was really good at driving. And parking. "It's because we never had normal conversations." He got out of the car and so did the female. He ended up giving her a piggy back ride, much to his dismay. However, she was not too heavy. They approached the house a bit slowly, as the male knew she was savoring the moment of admiring it.

"You smell feminine, Ace." She randomly commented. His face flushed. "Cherry is not feminine, Elijah." The girl rolled her eyes and sighed. "Stop calling me by my second name, Ace."

"And stop calling me by my stage name, Elijah." He argued back, making the female tilt her head in confusion and wonder. Never in her life did she know that Ace was just using his stage name and she didn't know what his real name was. "What's your name?" She questioned, completely curious about it. "Try guessing it." He said sternly, making the female raise an eyebrow as she tried guessing.

"Johnny?"

"That's fucking cliche. Yes papa?"

"Eating sugar?"

"Stop." He held himself back from facepalming. If he did then Aelise would most likely fall and die. He hoped that wouldn't happen though.

"Hmmm, let's see. Edmund? Felipe? Juan? Mario?" She guessed jokingly. The male sighed at her terrible attempt at guessing and sighed. He decided to tell her instead. "It's Eros." She let out a small and amused 'ooh'. Kind of cute.' She thought. "It means erotic?" She asked, making him choke on his saliva upon hearing that.
