Chapter 25 - Chapter 25

Yuriko typed away on his laptop that laid upon his lap while he was comfortably laying down on his bed. Meanwhile, Yuuichirou was playing some games on his phone, probably COD, sitting on the ground. This was their routine when they have nothing better to do. They were supposed to play board games with Aelise, but apparently, she went to her boyfriend's house, much to their dismay.

Yuriko sighed and took his gaze off the screen, looking up the ceiling. He started having a gut feeling ever since Aelise's boyfriend will stay over his place because she got beat up by Shima's men or so he thought. "It's so boring. Yuu, can you get me some water, pleeeaaasee?" He pleaded him with puppy eyes. After all, he didn't want to stand up from his position considering how comfortable he was.

He heard his brother grumble in response, giving him a warning glare, sending a shiver down his spine. Yuuichirou eventually did it anyway. As he was about to enter the room, Yuriko received a message from his sister's ex. He rose an eyebrow. "What now? " He whispered. The younger male gave him a questioning look as Yuriko read his message. Then he even got more confused when Yuriko started stripping then changing his clothes, a panicked expression on his face.

"Yolo, sir. What in the dorito is going on?" He watched him and waited for his answer. The following words made him drop the glass of water on the floor. His heart broke and there came the panicked and angry expression, replacing the sarcastic one.

They rushed outside all the while telling their mom and dad to come along with them, then telling them the reason why. Their dad drove them to the said location as fast as he could, his heart pounding so fast. 'I don't care if they'll arrest me for reckless driving. I need to see my daughter.' He held his wife's hand for comfort. The woman was crying her eyes out. This was unexpected. 'It can't happen again..'

When they arrived, they immediately searched for the male quickly as they entered the hospital. When Eleanor did find him finally, she pulled Zen into a hug as she questioned him. She was shaking. "What happened to Aelise? Please, tell me, please." She noticed some injuries on him as well but she'll have to ask about that later. If anything, she cared about him deeply. It was as if he was her son. Her husband and both of her children was behind her, waiting for a response. They were horribly worried. Tears poured out from their eyes. The same feelings and emotions they felt years ago.

Zen felt the woman hug him and held in a scream of pain. He gently held her and sat her down on the seats. "Please." He whispered. He kneeled in front of her and held her hands. "There's been an accident." He started off slowly. He wouldn't hide anything from them. He looked at the brothers and the father.

"She was hit by a truck. It was her best friend, Emma. And her new boyfriend was in on it too. At least that's what I think. They've been taken into custody. If we find out that the guy has nothing to do with it then we'll let him go or he'll be charged for murder, sexual assault and also harassment. "He spoke as he caressed the woman's hands. "It's hard. I know but please stay strong. She needs you guys the most." He said softly.

"Dr. Z- I-I mean, Zen!" He heard and turned to look at one of his doctor friends. "I'll be back." He gave them a small smile and went with the doctor to another room. He informed Zen about what has happened and Zen nodded. "You need to tell them, Sir." The doctor said and Zen nodded. "I will." He whispered.

Zen took in a deep breath and walked out of the room and to them again. He kneeled in front of them, holding her mother's hands. "It's bad. I'm so sorry. She got hit in the vital parts." He said, making it as simple as possible for them to understand. "She may lose her memories." He whispered, hanging his head low. He hated giving such messages.

"But remember. You guys have to be strong, okay? Help her. You have to be very patient. You've been through this before but I know. You can never get used to this. But trust me, you'll get her back. Slowly but surely. You're her parents. Her family. You're the most treasured people in her life. So please, stay strong for her." He spoke as he looked at them.

He, of course, couldn't understand what they were going through. No one could. Only they knew the pain. He didn't care if Aelise forgot about him. As long as she was happy, he was fine. "I'm really sorry for what happened." He whispered. He was right there. How did he not see all that happening?

'It's fine, Zen. She's alive. She'll make it. Come on. She's stronger than that. Don't worry.' He told himself and gulped down harshly as he looked at the father and the brothers. He held her father's hand and helped him sit next to his wife. "Sir, ma'am." He spoke as he held their hands. "You know her better than me. You know how strong she is." He gave them a small reassuring smile.

Both Yuriko and Yuuichirou's eyes widen. Yes, they've been through this before; Aelise getting into a car accident and losing some of her memories. They were all glad she only lost a few. But this was completely different. It was a truck. It was even worse than just a small car. Yuriko prayed to God that she wouldn't lose her memories with them, holding back his tears just like his mother and father. While Yuuichirou-

"Fucking hell!" He stormed out of the hospital with his mad and dark expression and his torn heart. "Wait, Ryou!" Yuriko called out, following him. As their mother was about to go after the two, their father pulled her back in her seat. "Let them be. It's just too much for them to handle." She sighed and looked back at Zen. She spoke to him. "We'll try to, hun. You should too. I know very well you still love her. You should stay strong as well. I can't describe how thankful I am to you for saving her." She smiled softly. "And I apologize for Yuuichirou's outburst. He's really like that when something bad happens to his sister." She chuckled. Her husband shrugged at her actions. He's a bit irritated at the fact that both his wife and daughter would laugh and smile even at the worst times like this one. He sighed, looking at Zen and sent him a small smile. "Thank you. For everything."

"When can we see her?" The woman questioned.

Yuriko was catching up to Yuuichirou. They eventually ended up in their home. The younger male looked at the older with tired and sad eyes. "Please.. Riko, leave me alone. I can't take it anymore." With that, he shut the door close, leaving the older male standing there with a frown on his features.

Yuriko sighed sadly and ran a hand through his black locks, walking away from the door. Small tears escaped from his eyes, gradually turning into a waterfall. He headed inside Aelise's room and looked around. He lifted his hand up and touched the wall that was hand-painted by her. It was a huge sunset. All of the painted walls inside her room were made by her. The male smiled at the beautiful masterpiece. He casted a glance towards the polaroid pictures hanging around then examined them. A smile crept up to his face.

A few moments after, he decided to leave her room. He was about to walk out but them knocked off something from her study table. He knelt down and picked it up. It was a black notebook that had his sister's name on it, labelled as a diary.

He couldn't help but open the book, however, he couldn't. He shouldn't. He examined it. He needed the pincode on the lock in order to open. He thought deeply and examined the book once again, searching for answers. Yuriko knew well that his sister was a total genius when it came to these types of things. He searched exactly four numbers on every damn thing he was seeing. Until he realized something. Her old phone. He swore he saw her putting a big sticker on the case. He looked inside her cabinet.

"Thank God." Yuriko grabbed her phone out, then he immediately saw the sticker. But a morse code? He held himself back from throwing the phone on the floor. He stared at the code for a while. '--.. . .-. --- / ..-. .. ...- . / -. .. -. . / ..-. --- ..- .-.' After a few minutes, he finally got it and entered the code. "Zero, five, nine, and.. four." A sigh of relief emerged from him as the notebook opened.

The male hesitated on reading it because it was certainly considered as breaching her privacy. But he just couldn't help it. Yuriko carried on reading, eventually crying while doing so. "This.." He gulped. For him, it was no ordinary diary. The things written here were about what was happening between Aelise and her boyfriend. The following words were always repeated on each page: kicked, slapped, punched, and a lot more. He gripped the book in anger as he carried on reading.

Eventually he reached the last page which was written before she arrived here. Nineteen letters. Four words. Two sentences. His eyes went wide. No, it must be a joke. It was enough for him to call Zen. "Take me to where Emma and Aelise's so called boyfriend are." He spoke angrily, not wasting his time on driving to the hospital once again with an urge of killing someone dwelling inside him. He also brought the notebook along.

I'm leaving.

I'm pregnant.
