"Well, let's just say that I wasn't very lucky. To be honest, if you cheated on her for so long with so many people then I wouldn't mind-" Zen was cut off when he heard the crash. He looked at Eros and then rushed behind him to the scene. "What's happening?" He asked and his eyes widened as he saw the body on the floor. His vision was blurry so he couldn't see the person's face properly but he could see that it was a girl.
His eyes widened when he fell onto his knees next to her. "H-Hey." He whispered. Rage boiled inside of him but he controlled it. He looked up at the people and growled. "I will fucking get you, Emma. If people have best friends like you then they won't need to have enemies." He said as he slid one hand under Aelise's knees and another on her back as he carried her. "I promise I will fucking find you bitches." He sneered before he held Aelise and started to the hospital.
"Did you hit the spots I told you awhile ago?" Eros asked Emma as he watched Zen go away. Joy was in his eyes. He was satisfied. Yet, at the same time, he felt a bit guilty. Just a bit. Emma smiled at him. "I did." she responded as she wiped her sweat off her forehead. Shewas clueless why she had to hit certain parts of her head. Eros walked towards her and ran a hand through his hair, completely reading her expression.
"You see.. " He started. "There's a reason why I told you to hit her here." He poked the top of Emma's forehead. "And here." He poked behind her ears. "Then here." He placed a hand on the back of her head. He started laughing maniacally as she gave him a clueless look. She felt like she didn't want to know. "Her hippocampus is damaged." He said, making her tense in her position. Guilt consumed her. Regret. 'Aelise..'
"She'll lose her memories. All of it. Considering the crash and what you did. Don't worry, she won't die." With that, a small tear slipped from her eye. Eros just laughed at her reaction, completely amused. Memories flooded in his head.
'We were each other's first love ever since we were little, Aelise. Until that bitch came and completely took you away from me. You got into a car accident in middle school, and I'm the only one who you forgot about. Now, I'll make him feel what I felt back then, but even worse.'
"Get in!" Zen heard and looked to see a car stop next to him. Nate. He couldn't be more happy to see his brother. He got in and placed Aelise's hand onto his lap, not caring if her blood covered him now. "How bad is it?" Nate asked as he floored it to the hospital
Zen calmed himself down and looked at her. 'Why did this happen? Baby, why?' He thought to himself. He gently lifted her head and saw the injury. "S-She's losing a lot of blood." He whispered. "You can do this, right?" Nate asked. "I can't. They won't allow me to do the surgery. My hands will shake." Zen shook his head. He looked down at Aelise and cupped her cheek, weakly.
"Come on, baby. You can make it, right? Please? Let me be a little selfish and have you all to myself." He whispered. "This isn't how you get revenge on me. I know I fucked up but why." He cried softly as he held her close. Nate stopped in front of a hospital and Zen carried Aelise in. As soon as he walked in, the doctors saw him and all the blood. They got a stretcher and Zen placed Aelise onto it.
The doctors were about to wheel her away but Zen stopped one of them. "I need her." He whispered. "We shall try our best, Sir. Please stay strong." The doctor gave him a reassuring smile and nodded before going. Zen would've fallen to his knees if Nate wouldn't have held him up.
"Did she want to leave so bad? Why is this happening?" Zen whispered before remembering the people. "Those mother fuckers." He growled as he got his gun out and headed back to the place with Nate. "I want a thorough investigation on this case." He growled and Nate smirked. 'Oh they're all gone for.' He thought and nodded. "Yes, boss." Zen walked to them, shooting one of Emma's legs. Little did he know that the Aelise he had with him, wasn't his. He wasn't in the state of mind to check either.
"So. Explain before I make you." He said and his guards had immediately surrounded them. Not his personal bodyguards. Military personnel. Nate had called them. Even Eros was there. "I want to know everything." He spoke as he held his gun up to Eros' head. The rest had theirs pointed to the others who were present.
Emma's eyes went wide and she winced as her leg got shot, falling down on her knees. She looked at the culprit, her eyes watering. 'I deserve this.' She hung her head low.
Eros remained unfazed by the gun pointed at him and just looked at him, then he gave him a small smile. "You know it yourself why, don't you? Therefore, I won't say a single thing. Shoot it." He demanded.
"She was your fucking girlfriend!!" Zen exclaimed as he looked at Eros. "If you would've taken proper care of her, she would've loved you more than she ever loved me. I wouldn't have ever interrupted your lives. I was thinking of letting her go. I planned on it. I knew what you did. Cheating on her. I knew that you knew about her still loving me. How much would that have hurt you? I know. That's why. I wanted to let her go. So that you both can be happy. But now, I don't care if she calls the fucking police on me, I'm not leaving her alone." He spoke as he looked at the boy.
He looked to his guards and then nodded. They took both of them and threw them into a van, taking them to the headquarters. Military headquarters. The guards got them both out and chained them to the walls. They knew how Zen worked. Zen, right now, was more emotional. He was empathetic sometimes. Even in these situations and this was just one of those time. Zen took a deep breath. "Keep them there please." Zen spoke as he looked at Nate who nodded.
Zen made his way back to the hospital. He waited outside of the operating room to see what the doctors would say. 'It hit vital spots. They won't be able to save her.' Zen thought as he was breathing heavily. He wasn't a doctor but he was a fucking surgeon. He needed to do that for his military passion. A military doctor. Blood didn't affect him but Aelise's blood affected him.
He had Nate find out where Aelise lived so that he could contact her parents and brothers. 'This is Zen. Zen Shima. Your sister is in the operation theatre. Please come to the location sent.' He sent the text and his current location. He really hoped that Aelise's brother would trust him on what he said. If not the parents then the brother. He brought his mask out and covered the lower half of his face. He didn't want them to see all his injuries.
Nate went back to the headquarters and stretched. "You've got a reason. Okay." He said and looked at Eros. "You." He said and scoffed as he looked at Emma. "Best friend? How?" Nate asked.
