Chapter 17 - Seventeen

The party was a go, everyone was here- laughter filled the garden, the weather was beautiful! Maggie went on her honeymoon tomorrow so I'm thankful she was here to celebrate this special day with us.

My family was here, mom, dad and Jennie.

Leytons sister was here .. his dad was staying home with his mom. Figured.

All of our loved ones in our home. It made my heart full.

We gathered everyone together - for the reveal.

"Before we announce the genders, we want to thank each of you for being here today. Unfortunately not everyone could attend ... but we're lucky to have the ones here who mean the most to us" I squeezed his hand tight.

We wanted to do something that no one would of thought of ... and what better than hiring planes to have the smoke coming out the back of the colours.

We all turned to face the sky ... the planes came across, within seconds the smoke came from behind - one of each pink and blue.

My heart was filled with joy, cheers filled the garden - my arms met Leytons neck and he span me round!

We have a son and a daughter.

"Prilly!! Congratulations!!" Maggie exclaimed as we sat together in the corner away from everyone else. "Thanks Mags! I cannot believe we have one of each! ... when do you leave?" - "tomorrow morning but we have an early start so we'll have to leave soon to pack! ... but we can have a good catch up when I get back?" - "of course ... I can't wait already!" - "and you're getting married? I mean what are the odds! From the beginning to now!! Have you started planning yet?" - "I know it's crazy, I never would of thought it would go like this but I wouldn't change it! - no! I'm gonna start planning once the babies are here - were in no rush ... I just know I cannot wait to marry him"

I look over in awe at how he is with my family, I guess because his family aren't as affectionate he gets it from mine, especially my mother. She just loves him.

The day concluded at 6pm! Everyone left once the cleaning up was done - I was exhausted! I was half way through this pregnancy and I couldn't wait for the next half.

A son and a daughter.

Here's to the next chapter of our book.

THREE MONTHS LATER.

I was officially the size of a house. I had to take maternity leave early simple reason I couldn't walk for a matter of 10 minutes without aching or getting pains somewhere I didn't think pain was doable.

Leyton spent as much time in his office as possible before the babies come; now I was at home there wasn't a lot for me to do.

The nursery was decorated ready for our arrivals, I was informed by my midwife to expect not to go full term, as that's not expected when you're carrying twins.

So I always made sure my hospital bag was with me at all times.

Maggie and Sean moves away ... it wasn't a decision made lightly it was a joint decision, they loved Greece so much they got offered job opportunities. It would of been silly to not accept it.

We had our last few days together we went shopping, dinner ... got all of our conversations into three days. We keep in contact which is all I can ask for.

I had a month left and I was so ready for these two to arrive.

We already chose our names but they were staying a secret until birth.

I had nothin to do! So I took the idea and made dinner for us both this evening, any chance we get we spend as a couple because as everyone knows when you're parents you don't get enough time together.

I cooked his favourite - steak. He arrived home at 6:30pm! Just in time, the table was set the candles were lit.

"What's all this?" He smiles as he approaches the kitchen. "Well seen as I don't have much to do anymore I thought I would cook us dinner ... and we'll you work hard you deserve it"

"Well it's beautiful thank-you baby"

We spent the evening cuddled on the sofa watching movies ... the babies were more active than normal and I didn't feel myself.

As I fell asleep upon Leytons lap, a sharp pain went through my stomach to my groin. It woke me up in a start.

"Shit" I gasped clutching the pillow tight. "Leyton!! Wake up!!" I tapped his leg vigorously.

"April?" He startled himself. "What's wrong?"

"I ... don't know. I've got pain all around my stomach"

Surely this wasn't normal?

Now I was scared.

- Leyton POV -

I felt helpless. I've never seen this much in April's eyes before. There was nothing I could do, I knew that.

I carried her to the car and drove straight to the hospital. I phoned them on the way so Dr Tyler was expecting our arrival.

"God, it hurts so bad!" She cried as we approached the car park! "Hang in there baby, we'll get you help I promise"

I slung the babies bag over my shoulder and carried April inside; Dr Tyler was waiting by reception with a wheelchair.

"Help her. Please." I pleaded. Following them into the mother and baby until and into a private room.

"Let's get you on the bed. April and I will examine you and see what's going on" Dr Tyler was the best doctor in town. I trusted her.

There was no messing around ... she examined April straight away. "You are in labour ... however we need to get you an ultrasound to see clearer what's going on!"

An ultra sound? "If there's something wrong we need to know. Dr." I was firm. I didn't mean to be but my emotions were everywhere right now. My fiancée and our babies are in potential danger and I need to help.

"Well know more after the ultrasound, please, Leyton let me do my job."

Another doctor came through with the ultrasound machine that is used portably.

They waste no time in scanning April.

I wait around in anticipation holding onto April's hand whilst she breaths through the pain.

"Ok ... April you are definitely in labour ... however this could be some what a difficult delivery"

"What do you mean a difficult delivery. Dr Tyler I need my fiancée and my children safe!" I demanded as she was telling us the news.

"And we will make sure they're all safe, Leyton. However one of your babies is breech which means they are feet first. We will give you some pain relief to ease the contractions slightly and then see how much your dilated"

I've never feared so much for the ones I love. Ever. My whole life was laying entirely on this bed and there was nothing I could do to help.

I needed to pray for a miracle that they were all going to be safe.
