Chapter 3 - Silverdew Academy

The rays of the sun just settled itself a few minutes ago, shedding light and glow to the area that it surrounds.

Inside a grand complex of silver-lined buildings, there were a number of people going around and chattering even at the earliest break of dawn.

The hallways of Silverdew Academy was notably noisy with murmurs and muffled voices heard around as compared to other busy days and it was no wonder why.

"Entrance exams is happening today right?"

"I wonder what type of people we are getting this year"

"I heard Yu Xing is in! Isn't that an all kill already?"

With the bustling racket and nonstop chatter of the people who were going around the school premises, it was no wonder why a small shadow could not sleep well amidst the commotion and kept on tossing and turning around the bed.

With each murmur gradually growing louder, the figure couldn't take it anymore and groaned loudly while suddenly sitting up straight on her bed.

On her face the words 'I'm irritated' were clearly written.

"Zhu Ling, next time get yourself an isolated room." She grumbled as she bent her back forward while holding her forehead on her palms as she was still a bit groggy.

Because of all the clamor, she was not satisfied with her sleep and made a mental note to ask for herself to be moved to quieter grounds. With this, she thought to herself about the next possible target of her relocation.

This wouldn't be the first time she relocated anyway, so it would not matter regardless.

After a few minutes of blankly sitting down on her bed and staring at nothing, she listlessly walked towards the bathroom and splashed water onto her face, forcibly waking herself up.

Patting herself dry, she looked up towards the mirror that was placed above the wash basin and saw that very familiar copper-golden colored iris. Zhu Ling scoffed as she headed to freshen herself up while mumbling something that was not comprehensible.

Everyone in the hallway had been talking about the entrance examination that was happening today and they were trying to make guesses as to who enters where, or if there was anyone interesting coming in the line up for the new school year since there was always an oddball or two present for every Silverdew Academy entrance exam.

Silverdew Academy.

Silverdew Academy is quite a unique and special academy.

Usually when a student wishes to enter an academy, they would have to take an examination under the league or area that they want to belong in.

But in Silverdew Academy, the examinees will have to take a series of examinations and the professors along with the headmasters would decide where they would fall in. Giving the examinees close to none in terms of freedom of choice upon entering.

It would not seem tempting to most, since the examinees won't have the freedom of choice, but the simple idea that one entered Silverdew Academy already puts them on another level from the rest.

This was an important point for all those who cries and wishes for power.

That aside, the academy still allows its students to do an interchange or show of strengths from those of different guilds, which means they can still grow in their area of choice..if they are strong enough that is.

Walking out of her garden, Zhu Ling looked at the thrilled groups of individuals that were scattered throughout, all the while having none of the excitement and energy that were emanating from the people around her.

The entrance exams were not something that was hidden from the public. Rather, anyone can watch it as long as you are lucky enough to grab a seat or you were one of the exclusive group of individuals. Zhu Ling was one of the latter.

Students from Silverdew Academy usually fill in the seats early so not many lay people get the chance to watch such an amazing show of talents.

Except of course, for the high standing officials who had their seats reserved specifically since the whole event was planned.

A few crafty students would attend the examination only because they want to gauge their next possible foe and see if they are any threat to the position they are in.

While some students are in it for the fun and would simply watch over the exam because of pure curiosity.

Zhu Ling walked over to the lunch hall as this was where they had to gather themselves before heading to the stadium.

The place was packed full of people who were all talking about the entrance exams and a particular Yu Xing.

Not that Zhu Ling knows who this person they referred to as Yu Xing was, but it seemed like he got the admiration of a bunch of students even when just his name was simply mentioned.

She continued down the path of the crowded hall until she reached a side where there were not that many people circling around. Leaning on the wall with her arms crossed over her chest, she decided to listen in to the chatter around her.

A little gossip wouldn't be such a bad thing to listen in on, right?

At the same time she did this, a familiar voice sounded from her right side.
