Chapter 1 - Mirror mirror on the wall

Krystal was your average 18 year old girl. She had a loving family, and friends. She was never adventurous, nor was she interested in going elsewhere. She preferred staying at home, occasionally going out to hang out with friends. What She didn't know was that, the adventure of a lifetime was waiting for her. Right in front of her.

"Ring...ring" The alarm clock resonated through the air. Krystal groaned as woke up, she slammed her palm on the alarm clock making it silent. She got up, her eyes half opened. She dragged her feet to the bathroom and got ready. As she washed her face, she noticed a glowing light coming from the mirror.

'It's just my imagination' Krystal thought. She rushed downstairs. She was greeted by the aroma of eggs and bacon. "Good morning sweetie, eat your breakfast and go to school. Mom and Dad have to leave now. Love you!" Her mother said, she engulfed Krystal in a tight hug and kissed her forehead before leaving.

Krystal ate her breakfast and then scurried off to school. "Another day of school, another day of suffering.." she muttered to herself, she sighed. She dragged her feet into school and headed to her classroom. She slumped on her chair and put her head on the table.

"Yo! Krystal!" Her friend, Jamie said as she strolled up to Krystal. Krystal didn't bother to look up and just waved. Jamie took a seat beside Krystal. "Hey...Jamie. You know, this morning my mirror began glowing." Krystal said. Jamie looked at her friend as if she were crazy. "Girl, you okay? it's probably your imagination" Jamie put her hand on Krystal and lightly tapped her.

The teacher entered class, everyone stood up and bowed at him. Krystal was still a bit dazed but she tried to focus, silently wishing for school to end.

"Alright, class have a good weekend!" The teacher, Mrs Lim said as she packed her stuff. Krystal and Jamie both dashed out of the classroom. Krystal finally felt relieved and not like she was going to die of boredom.

"Bye Jamie!" Krystal yelled at her friend before dashing back home. She trudged up to her front door and swung it open. She slammed the door closed and ran upstairs. She was still sceptical about what happened this morning. She glanced at the mirror, she noticed a light sparkle. She inched closer and closer to the mirror. With each step, the glowing became brighter. she covered looked at the mirror, and now, she could not see her reflection. Instead, what she saw was a garden. It was filled with pixies and other magical creatures that don't exist here on earth. She put her palm up to the mirror, it was engulfed by the mirror. Krystal jumped in surprise, she thought for a moment and put her entire body through the mirror.

She felt dizzy as she dropped down. She landed on the floor with a loud thud. A thud so loud that the animals near her took a step back. She rubbed her eyes and got off the ground. She looked around her to see unicorns and fairies, all sorts of creatures roaming around her. She thought that she had went insane or it was all just a dream. She pinched herself and screamed in pain, "Not a dream, not a dream" she muttered to herself. She gazed around her, looking at the scenery made her tear up. It was beautiful.

Soon, Krystal began exploring this newfound world. Skipping along the green grass, she noticed a village up ahead. She approached it, she noticed that there were humans, werewolves and othe creature here. She decided to approach someone. "E-Excuse me.." She stuttered, the person she was talking to whipped her head around. "Oh, hi. You must not be from here, what's your name?" The girl asked. "Krystal".

the girl nodded and gestured for Krystal to follow her. Although a bit hesitant, Krstal felt like she could trust her.

"This is my house, my name is scarlett by the way." The girl introduced herself. Krystal smiled, she felt a sense of comfort with the fact that she knows one person in this world that she's unfamiliar with. "Where are you from?" Scarlett questioned. Krystal froze, she didn't know if she should tell her the truth. "I'm from earth..." Krystal muttered, she stared at the ground. Scarlett smiled, " That place is lovely! I've travelled there many times with the mirror" Krstal was shocked, she didn't know that people from here knew about her place. Scarlett knew that Krystal wouldn't have a home to stay, so she let the girl stay at her place temporarily. They talked for a bit, exchanging facts about each other. Even telling each other embarrassing stories. They talked about love life, school and other things. They forged a bond even though they just met each other. " Hey, scarlett, can you tell me some facts about your world?" Krystal asked. Scarlett nodded her head, "We are inclusive of everybody, unlike your world, we accept everybody. We have low crime rate too." Scarlett mentioned. Krystal was in awe about how inclusive this world was. She noted that nature was scary here and that she shouldn't touch anything she didnt know about. Night rolled around and Krystal was just about to sleep on the couch when she heard Scarlett yell, "Krystal! You can sleep with me! There is enough space on the bed." Krystal could feel her cheeks heat up at the thought of sleeping with Scarlett, but nonetheless she agreed. She headed to Scarlett's room and crawled onto the bed. She snuggled up to the blanket and slowly drifted off to dreamland.

Krystal's sleep came to a halt when she heard Scarlett ask her, "Krystal, do you want to join me on an adventure?" She was caught off guard, she felt uneasy at the request. She thought for a moment. Her mind was in a battlefield, she wanted to go, but what if it was dangerous. She couldn't decide. "You can answer me in the morning, goodnight!" Krystal smiled, slowly drifting off to dreamland.
