Chapter 6 - Earth

The trio went back to Scarlett's house to talk. As they joked around about what happened those past days and how crazy it was, "I should go back to earth…" Krystal said, sudden realisation hit her. Her parents must be worried sick about her. Scarlett's face immediately fell, but she kept her composure and smiled. "Uhm...Yeah! Sure…" She said. Amethist could see the change in mood and couldn't help but giggle. "Well, I should go now. Bye…" Krystal mumbled, she played with her fingers. She walked up to Scarlett and hugged her, she then pecked Scarlett's cheek. Scarlett's face turned red as she buried her head in her palms. Krystal skipped up to Amethist and engulfed her in a hug. A tear escaped her eye as she walked upstairs to the mirror in Scarlett's room. "Till' we meet again," Krystal exclaimed before stepping through the mirror. Gradually, her body seeped into the mirror as she bid her last farewell. That was it, the end. Or was it?

Scarlett let out silent tears as she watched Krystal go. Her face was pale and her eyes bloodshot. Amethist of course shed a few tears, but it was nothing compared to Scarlett. Amethist had left to head back to her home, leaving Scarlett to ball her eyes out. Scarlett had never felt like this since she was 12. She laid in bed at night, tossing and turning but unable to fall asleep. Her mind was clouded with thoughts of Krystal and the same scene of her leaving played in her mind over and over again. She finally had enough and got up, she headed to the mirror. She faced her reflection, something magnetic pulling her in. She felt herself overcome with a feeling of euphoria. She touched the mirror but held her hand back. She tried to calm herself down, telling herself that she should not do it. But, Scarlett couldn't help herself. She put her hand through. Carefully, she took a deep breath and stepped through the mirror. "Till we meet again." She opened her eyes to see herself in the bathroom of Krystal's house. She quietly walked out to find Krystal. She then heard shouting and screaming in the living room. She walked over peeking her head out to see Krystal being scolded. "Where did you go?! Don't give me this explanation. It's not possible, you're gonna see a psychiatrist!" Krystal's mother shouted. Krystal cried repeatedly saying she wasn't crazy, but no matter what her mother and father wouldn't believe her. Scarlett felt her blood boil as she watched the scene. She couldn't care less and jumped to Krystal's aid. "Krystal!" Scarlett exclaimed. "Scarlett? How did you get here?" Krystal asked, astonished. "Who are you?" Krystal's father asked. "I came from the other world. What your daughter said was true sir. If only Amethist would follow me through that mirror." Scarlett turned to face Krystal and hugged her. "I just wanted to see you again." She explained. Krystal giggled. "Our daughter going to another world is true?! You expect-" Krystal's mother was cut off but Scarlett who rolled her eyes. "Look. Your daughter is NOT crazy in any way, she's perfect okay? Second, if you don't trust your daughter then, what explanation can she give you? It's the truth" Scarlett said, she showed a sense of annoyance and irritation. Krystal's parents stayed silent, "Whatever," They said as they walked out the door.

"Scarlett!" Krystal yelled, she hugged Scarlett. "Yes?" Scarlett asked, sheepishly. "Why did you come here? I thought you would stay in your-" She couldn't finish her sentence when Scarlett shushed her. "I'm here now, okay? That's all that matters Krys" She stated. Krystal hummed in response. "You know how it works, you've been here before, right scar?" She asked. Scarlett nodded her head and gleefully smiled. "Apparently, you guys have this IQ thing and like, I got 200!" Scarlett said nonchalantly as they walked down the streets of New York. Krystal froze on the spot and slowly turned her head to Scarlett before exclaiming, "What now?!" Scarlett looked at Krystal confused. "You're like Einstein!" Krystal said. Scarlett looked at Krystal weirdly, "You mean that smart guy wasn't he Elb- Ilber-Albert Einstein" she asked. Krystal nodded her head frantically. Scarlett just shrugged her shoulders and continued walking down the street.

"Where are we heading?" Scarlett asked Krystal. "Starbucks." Krystal said. Scarlett nodded her head and followed behind Krystal. Krystal stopped in front of Starbucks and looked at Scarlett, she was just about to open her mouth when Scarlett said, "Chocolate Chip Frappe" Krystal nodded her head. She strolled into Starbucks and ordered their drinks. They took a seat outside. "Why'd you come to this world?" Krystal asked, curiously. "Because...uhm… because of you.." Scarlett answered bashfully. Krystal blushed and looked down, she crossed her legs and looked away avoiding eye contact. Scarlett coughed and looked at Krystal, "You know, we should go now. I'm done" Krystal nodded slightly. They walked to the nearby mall and looked around. Scarlett noticed a cute purple necklace and her eyes shimmered. Krystal noticed and giggled, "You want it?" She asked Scarlett. Scarlett looked down shyly and nodded her head. Krystal walked into the store and grabbed a hold of her wallet. She walked up to the counter and pointed to the necklace. "Here," She handed the assistant her credit card and paid for the item. She took back her things and grabbed the necklace. She strolled out and looked for Scarlett. "Hey, here." Krystal handed the necklace to Scarlett. Scarlett put the necklace around her neck and looked up to Krystal who was enchanted by her beauty. "How do I look?" Scarlett asked Krystal. "A-amazing." Krystal stuttered, her face turned red. She scratched her nape and looked up to Scarlett. "Thanks," Scarlett replied. She turned a shade of red as she looked down at the ground. Awkward tension filled the air as they both avoided eye contact. "Let's head back," Krystal suggested. Scarlett nodded her head in agreement, the duo made their way back home awaiting to spend the night together.
