Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"Good morning people of Autumnsberg, just now, a local farmer has encountered a creature unknown from humanity. He'd stated that he didn't intentionally ran the creature over with his tractor, but to his surprise and mostly, fear, he'd quickly drove his way to a nearest police station to report it as it stood back up and scratched his arm. The farmer was immediately sent to a nearest hospital and was in a critical condition due to blood loss. Although the reported creature is still on the loose. We recommend to report any kind of weird movements and actions from your surroundings through your cellular phones or nearby police station. God Bl-"

and then there was static.

I rose up from the couch and turned the television off. I'd usually smash the television with my bare hands to continue watching, I guess this time's not the time to do so. Something's not right in the news today.

I'd sip on my coffee and grabbed my phone and immediately called Mama.

"Yes, dear? Good morning! Have you ate?" Mama boomed loudly through my phone. I smiled.

"Yeah, had some good slice of sandwich and a cup of coffee."

"That's great sweetie, why'd you call?"

"Have you heard of the news?"

"Oh, I haven't. I woke up late this morning and I've decided not to watch some today. Is it something bad?"

"Ah... N-no-"

and there was a knock from my front door.

"I'll call you back, Mama."

I walked towards the door and opened it.

"Hey Fleur!" Stef greeted with her blonde hair, dancing through the gusts of winds.

"Good morning Stef, come in..."

"Something up? You look distressed."

"Have you watched the news today?"

"News? I haven't. What's it about?"

"Sounds like a zombie to me. A farmer ran over a creature and somehow it still survived and was able to scratch him."

I tapped my chin.

"Fleur... I don't like that kind of news."

"Well, it's what the news said."

"Geez. Anyway, I brought you smoked salmon and a dozen of crab rolls. That would be 6 bucks."

I slipped my hand through my pocket and grabbed the exact amount needed.

Stef quickly left and I was alone yet again. Out of nowhere, I've decided to lock all of my doors and windows.

Call me paranoid, but after hearing the news, I knew something extremely bad is going to happen in just a blink of an eye.
