A few days before Sven recovered there were new arrivals to Vinland. Two boats arrived, and a group of thirty men got off them. They were all covered in black armor and clothing. A big bald man, with a scar across his face, was leading them. He had an artificial arm made from steel, that was covered in glyphs. He walked towards the man who sent out the beacon that drew them in.
"Where is he?" The large man said.
"Lord Odiusl, I'm sorry I couldn't trail them. The man's senses were too good. He almost noticed me a few times. There was a group of warriors who came through, and talked about seeing a Valkyrie southwest from here." The man quickly replied bowing his head to the man with a look of fear in his eyes.
"It seems like a good place to start. Take five of my men, and get going. If you return without results it will be your head. Now go!" Odius demanded.
After he gathered a few of the men he immediately went in search of Sven.
"What should we do while we wait. You know I'm easily restless." A large man behind Michael asked.
"I'm sure if we look around the area we could find some tera to pass the time. Don't worry Alex the time to release your wrath will come. Over the past five years, you have impressed me with your skills, and dedication to our cause. I wish more gods would see the tera as you do. You are truly the best of your race." Odius said as he placed his hand on Alex's shoulder.
Alex was a large man but was only eighteen years old. He had short black hair wite skin and blue eyes. To him, Odius was like a father, and anything he ordered would be done without hesitation. Odius raised him to be the perfect soldier. When he was thirteen a Scylla attacked his city. A week before that some raiders came to town, and all the adults were working the fields. When his brother was about to be killed he had his divine awakening. Alex had ties going back to Zeus, and all though he couldn't wield lightning or wind. His physical strength was immense. Even Ares would've praised the strength displayed on that day.
Their village wasn't far from the coast, and a powerful Scylla sensed his awakening. It went searching for him causing a calamity on the town. Odius was hunting this Scylla but arrived too late to save his family. Alex was the only survivor. He was only thirteen, but he was giving the tera hell. As Alex got tired he was on the brink of death when Odius saved him. Ever since that day he has followed him everywhere he went. Alex had raw power, but Odius taught him the technique. Since the day he joined Odius he's killed countless tera, and his rage only grows.
Back to the current time Sven and his companions quickly got dressed, and ready to move out. While they were walking to the entrance. They could see a couple of warriors, Alexias, Mika, Kimi, and Akando were waiting for them. He was expecting everyone here except Kimi. While he was walking up Akando walked up to him.
"I wanna apologize for how I was treating you. I let my personal feelings get involved in my actions. That is still no excuse. I hope we can get along well today." Akando apologized.
"I too was letting personal matters influence my actions that day. The truth is I was looking for a fight. So don't worry about it." Sven replied
"We need to get going," Mika said as she leads everyone out of the sanctuary.
While they were walking together Astrid, and Helga didn't leave his side. Kimi kept looking at Sven. She wanted to be around him but was still shy about the others. They were finally at the border of the sanctuary.
"Okay before we leave everyone must wear one of these. Kimi made them for us. They will allow us to understand each other still when we leave the barrier, and when we're searching in the woods it will help us communicate when we split up." Mika said as she handed an amulet to everyone.
'"I still think she should stay. I know you're a talented mage Kimi, but you don't have combat experience. I'm concerned for your safety." Akando said.
"Chief Mikom wanted her to come. When we reach the village we will be leaving some warriors to defend it in case they come back, and the rest of us will split into groups of two. Kimi will be with Sven since he's powerful enough to watch over her. Alexias will be alone so that he can scout ahead. His speed will make it easy for him to retreat if he finds himself in trouble. Helga, you'll be with me, Akando and Astrid will make up the final group. Let's get going."Mika ordered as they walked out the barrier.
After they walked for two hours they finally arrived at their destination. The entire village had been destroyed. Some villagers managed to survive, but it wasn't many. The land looked as if a tornado ran through it. Only a few bodies could be found. Sven saw the destroyed village and was reminded of his home. He felt responsible for what happened. If he wasn't out for so long he could've helped them search. They could've found them before this disaster happened. If he found the enemy he surely would give them no mercy. After they left the warriors at the village. They wandered off to find the forest the harpies we seen flying towards.
"This has to be it. Be sure to stay in contact, and if you find any of the harpies call out before you engage. That way we know how many are left. Everyone be safe, and make sure to not let them escape." Mika said before everyone paired off and entered the forest.
Alexias immediately took off and disappeared into the forest. Over an hour had passed, and still no sight of the harpies. Kimi was trailing behind Sven, and when he noticed this he stopped.
"We need to stay close together if we can help it. I don't want something separating us. "Sven said as he walked up to her.
"Okay, I'll stay close then. Sorry I was getting distracted." Kimi said as she started walking side by side with him.
"It's okay to be nervous. It's your first time going into combat after all. I won't let anything happen to you so try to relax." Sven said as they continued on to the forest.
"People have entered the forest. You five go out and exterminate them. Remember that their essence is mine, and don't even think of taking it for yourself. If you do a good job I'll let you have the weakest of the group. Now get going!" A mysterious figure ordered as five women quickly took off into the forest.
