Chapter 10 - 9

Revelation Part 2

Life suddenly became hopeful and adventurous for Destiny. Taking unexpected turns, and joys. She began waking up smiling to his texts and sleep to his calls. But the time difference was seriously meddling with them. It was more than friendship, a lot like love, except they took it as it wasn't, they took it and covered it up as friendship afraid to cross those deadly lines. He would sometimes do face time and show her the streets of London, his office, his home, his room and send pictures of whatever he does. She would do the same back, sometimes Yuri would join their Video call dates and tease him real bad. And he would always warn her to never go near any seafood to not fall sick again. Destiny had around only 12 more days to work at the godforsaken place. But felt super bad for Yuri. But they decided to live together no matter how. Mohamed has offered her a super awesome package with salary raise, three bedroom apartment in the middle of the city, and car after getting the license for the manger's post. Everything was pretty exciting except for her family life. Her brother tried calling her and she did not pick up. Much more than anger, she had nothing to talk to him about. But She constantly kept in touch with April, her little sister and sent money home. One day when Destiny opened her front door, there were too many flowers delivered with notes, all for her and one for Yuri. Roses, Hydrangeas and Peonies and Ranunculus.

"What is going on actually eonni? I am sure it's from him," Yuri asked curiously. "Two months now since you two have known each other?"

"Last night I talked to him about Deng Lun and Florists we watched and how flowers have different meanings according to the occasions. But I didn't expect this!" she told Yuri in a single breathe. They both looked at each other. Collected all the flowers and arranged inside and ran to check the meaning.

Yuri laughed loud. "What now?" and Destiny shrugged. The notes only had names to whom it should be given. "So very thoughtful to include me." Destiny's phone rang and it was June, after getting the sad text that her wedding date had been postponed to March, there was absolutely no sign of her nor a reply for Destiny's last few messages.

"Destiny,"

"Hey June, yes tell me,"

"I missed you," destiny smiled to what she had heard. "Am so sorry I acted weird around you with the other girls.

"It's fine, I get it," she said.

"Can we meet?"

"Of course yes," Destiny agreed to June's plan.

"Good, I will there in ten minutes, get ready and come down."

But of course, it was June, and it took more than an hour for her to reach. They headed straight to Tawar mall and sat in Flat white coffee shop. They ordered two Lattes and cheesecake.

"How have you been?" She asked June.

"You know everything. Wedding dates changed because everything was full with booking till March, so had no option but extend. So going for work and continuing my dating life. Staying with my family a few days before marriage and trying out new parts of life. Cooking, trying to play with kids and goes like that life." June told her everything.

"That is so good June, really,"

"Am sorry I was being such a dick, I know," she began to apologize.

"Honestly I felt really bad about the whole thing. I expected you would come to talk to me though I know I overreacted, but you could have stopped them. But fine. It's alright. You were in the middle. So I understood. Then I let it go. Since it's over, let's not think of it again."

"I know, sorry," she said. "By the way, I called you out for something important. I wish to ask you something." The moment Destiny heard those words, she felt tense. Her usual habit. If someone asks her 'Can I ask you something?' she naturally goes cold and nervous.

"Yes, sure,"

"Who is that guy? How do you know him?"

"You mean Lay?" she asked back. 'I knew it, I knew you were so curious to know this June girl' she thought.

"His name is Lay?  For real? Real Name?"

"Yeah! Who walk around saying fake ones?" Destiny felt so stupid.

"What are you guys? Are you dating him?"

"Of course not, we are not. We are just friends." Destiny cleared June's doubt.

"Phew, Thank god," June exhaled.

"Why?" Destiny smelled something fishy.

"Don't you remember at all, the moment I saw you with him, I understood that you don't remember."

"What?" Destiny had no clue what June was talking about.

"You keep in touch with him? How is he?" June kept asking about Lay.

"He is amazing. He is good. And yeah we keep in touch." Destiny stopped right there, not saying more.

"That's strange of him to do,"

"You know him?"

"He stays in Sheraton when he comes doesn't he?"

"Yes. You know him well so," it then occurred to her. A small moment of Lay and June in the garden party. Awkward greeting. Destiny did not like. She did not like the fact that June knows him well enough. June is a best friend of hers in this foreign land, but she never liked the way she was with men.

"You still don't remember, do you?

"No,"

"Remember my trip to London, the Allen guy, amazing two weeks of fifty shades of mine?"

Destiny's heart sank. Of course Lay had told her about goofing around but certainly did not expect it to be with June. WITH JUNE. It ringed a bell in her head now about why he was so uncomfortable when they talked about June.

"Two weeks of goofing around with fake names and identities and amazing sex in the famous hotel tale of yours? The one I advised you to never do again?" Destiny recalled that moment. That moment how she scolded and advised June to never do this kind of things. "Worst comes worst he could even be a terrorist." She had told her. She remembered clearly now. Destiny wanted to cry but she controlled.

"So his name is Lay, hmmm" June sat sipping on her latte. "How come he is still in touch with you? Tell me how did you two meet?" Destiny then narrated her the whole story from water till flowers this noon. She had no idea what to do anymore. He did tell her before, he didn't say it was June though. For some reason, she felt to betrayed and shameful, but for some reason, she wished to not be bothered about it. Her insides were screaming not knowing what to do.

"Oh my god, that looks like you two are pretty close, Maybe he is this way and what we did was absolutely nothing but a way to move on from bad breakups. It's not a big deal." June told her very casually.

'But damn it feels like a big deal to me,' she thought. Destiny had no idea how to deal with it for a moment. She did know about It from him, but since he didn't tell her who it was she made peace with it. But thinking and picturing that it was June, she felt too bad and breaking. An hour after catching up with everything, June dropped her off at home and left.

Destiny ran upstairs to her room quickly changed and took a long shower. Thinking absolutely nothing. She had few messages and two missed calls from him and she chose not reply for now. She wanted to but she couldn't. Yuri was cooking dinner for them.

"I thought you would come only after dinner, thank god I made extra," Yuri told Destiny. "What happened?" she noticed the gloomy face. "Are you crying?"

"Am not," Destiny replied. She wasn't crying but too confused and hurt.

"What? Did you two fight more?"

"That would have been better!"

"What happened?" it is only then Destiny revealed everything about Lay to Yuri.

"Oh my god, Why didn't you tell me any sooner? So you knew but not the person. If you knew already then you shouldn't be this way. But if it really bothers you, talk to him soon."

"Yeah thanks, I didn't know any of these options existed," Destiny snapped back and left the kitchen. "Did that loser call you back?" she shouted and asked.

"No, neither did he return my messages." Yuri walked to towards the room and sat on the foot of the bed. "We are doomed, aren't we? How about a little bit of wine?" and Destiny nodded sadly.

"Why did it have to be June?" Destiny whined after two cups of wine and totally drunk. "It makes me feel weird though I have already known about it." Destiny's phone kept ringing and finally, she picked up. An hour later she slowly fell asleep. While the video call went on for another fifteen minutes.

Yuri always knew to handle alcohol well but Destiny never did. Yuri left to work the next morning but Destiny slept in and took a day off. It was 10 in the morning. Destiny woke up and went straight to the shower. She heard the door unlock and someone get in after a couple of knocks.

"Is that you Yuri? How come you are back early?" destiny finished soon put on her rob and got out of the washroom. She walked into her room and she stood stunned. Sweat suddenly tickled down her neck all the way to her spine.

"What are you doing here?" she asked that guy. 'No', she thought. 'No way, how did he get in,' she clutched on either side of her robs.
