The Forbidden Fruit
There was knock on the door and Lay came running and opened them. To his disappointment, it was room service guy who has come up with water.
"We didn't ask any water,"
"Sorry sir for disturbing at this hour, but we forgot refill water in this room." And he left the room.
A few minutes later there was a knock again, and he did not care to walk to the door. And the knocking got louder.
Irritated he walked towards the door, "What?" and it was her who stood there.
"What?" she asked back. "I realized this is my room," he smiled and took her hand pulling her in. "What are you doing?"
"Do I need permission for that?"
"Apparently I belong to only me, and so, yes you do."
He laughed and stepped back for a moment and said, "You have a way with words, so May I?" he asked for permission. And he got the reply he wasn't sure about.
Smiling she said, "You may." And she pulled his shirt and kissed him. He lifted and she wrapped her legs around his waist, her hands around his neck, fingers playing on his hair locks. He kissed in fierce and bit her lips. He walked around the room carrying and she heard many things crashing down.
"Oh no, the plants!" she said suddenly, panting, pushing away from him. He checked it out fast turning around.
"It's just the bottles, not the vases," he assured her and went back to kissing while she laughed. He then placed her on the study table. His head leaned on hers. Catching up with his breathing. He looked at her. His green eyes, deep and melting. His smile hidden behind those tight lips, his fingers tracing her skin, unaware of awakening a sleeping lioness, and she did not deny. Little did they know, how they are going to be tied down forever within each other, not even attempting to struggle to run away from it, while they were able to perfectly get away? They wanted it. They needed each other. As he looked into her melting brown eyes, he knew he was under her magic, they both were, at the moment unable to break the spell.
"I just want to show you much you mean to me," he said. She stared into those green eyes searching, as she melted under his touch, and sensed the sweat that trickled down her spine, tickling, and it was nothing compared to the electricity that passed in her as he kissed her neck. The thin straps of her dress fell down her shoulders and she put her arms around him looking him, sensing the fire that melted the ice. And he carried her in his arms to the bed. He laid her down and kissed her again, his hands running down, while her fingers worked on his buttons.
That night, the sky came down for the ocean to its depth, to love his woman like never before, with the only chance that was given to him and he decided to use them. And the stormy ocean surrendered, keeping aside the rage and in serene. Destiny's and Lay's phones kept ringing. And they ignored. Destiny totally forgot about informing Yuri that she is gonna spend the night away. But she didn't mind it. That moment she was happy. She knew for how long it's gonna be, but she was really happy.
Her slow transformation from fear to love, that felt like heaven and fast, which demanded more and more, that's how fast the slowest thing changed, that's how fast her heart changed for him. That moment, nothing else mattered. Not his previous list of girlfriends, not June and not even his ex-fiancé. That moment to her what mattered the most was his words, their trust, and their newborn relationship foolishly enough. And she let him in.
Destiny only slept a bit, it was 6 in the morning and Lay looked tired and sound asleep. She admired his fitness and his body. She couldn't believe for a moment about everything that happened between them. She picked up their clothes from the floor. She walked straight into the washroom and showered. She put on her clothes and she stepped outside the room. The sun was already high up. She walked in the beach and stood close to the water, that sprayed on and touched her feet lightly. She wore the yellow crop top she purchased the last day and blue jean shorts. Her hair free that kept falling to her face. She had escaped from the room since she wasn't sure about how to face him.
As she looked at the sea, she forgot the rest of the world behind her. She wanted nothing more than to be with him. But she knew there big things that were yet to come, but she decided, 'Until then!' she told herself. 'Until then,' she saw him walking towards her a bit later in his khaki shorts and a blank tank top. He stopped a moment and took some candid pictures of her on his phone. Then he approached her and gave a back hug, holding her close, kissing her hair that smelled of strawberries.
'Lay, I have been thinking quite a few. I guess there is nothing you can fake too much, there is nothing you can hide long, nothing that can stop you from what your heart wants. And when you know this, you also know that nothing can be ever stopped by any force" she then turned to face him. Her hand around him. He reached to his height and kissed him.
"I know, I knew it for long, so I have decided to stay for a week long."
"What?" she was happy but didn't want to interrupt his work. "But you have got loads to do there, with the new proposal,"
"It can wait, it is going to go nowhere."
They walked all the way back to the resort and had breakfast. It was a buffet. They had a very lot of foods lined. Destiny chose toast, eggs, cream soup, and fresh juice. While he chose French toast, milk and a bowl of cut fruits and a muffin. They took a long time and enjoyed breakfast. They went back to the room and Lay laid down again cuddling with the pillow.
"Come here," he asked her, his arms extended.
"I need to call Yuri and tell her, she must be worried and super pissed right now," Destiny told him. She took her and looked like it had turned off after all the ringing and blinking. She hadn't taken the charger too since she had no idea about his plans. "Can I use your phone? Mine is dead."
"Sure, I have put it on the charge in the study."
She then walked over to the table and made the call. "Am so sorry Yuri, I couldn't tell you, I didn't get the time to," but she was stopped and being blasted from the other side of the line. Yuri was bombing her with all sort of question Destiny was sure she have to answer but she decided to not do it now. "I will come home soon, I will tell you everything in the evening okay," and she hung up. Since she had his phone she wished to see the pictures they had taken for the past two days and she searched his gallery. Their pictures together looked really good and she liked his photography skills. The picture he took a couple hours back looked perfect with her, the beach and the lighting. She sat in the chair and kept looking at all the pictures. She saw some of his old pictures. His friends, then some pictures her with Mohamed and a girl. They all looked good. As she kept looking at them, his WhatsApp kept receiving messages. Accidentally, while sliding the notification away she opened the message. Most were work-related then from Leah and his mother. But one was from another girl. Brighty, the name read. Destiny took her profile picture and looked at her, and she instantly recognized. It was the girl she recognized with Lay in a few pictures. By her mistake, all the messages were shown as read. She knew she was in trouble. But a striking message hit her while she locked the phone. She opened the messages again.
'Reply me, pick up the call, where are you? Have you now completely forgotten me after we broke? Can't you at least see me as a friend? You promised we would have dinner together and you are not even in the country, Leah told me. Now I know, I should have never let you go.' She exited and kept the phone down. It struck her. 'Brighty, his ex-fiancé. She wants him back. She is trying to win him back.' Destiny's heart shook for a moment and sunk into reality. 'Oh no of course not, he is here with me though he received all his messages,' she told herself. Then the phone ringed. It was Brighty again. She ran with the phone to Lay who was waiting for her.
"Who is it?" he asked.
"Brighty," she said without hesitation. Put the phone in silent, and keep it there. "Wait can you take my lap from the bag? I got to check and reply a few emails."
"Sure," she said and opened his backpack. As she took the laptop out, a small box rolled up and fell on the floor. She picked them up and she became nervous. He noticed it and got up from the bed suddenly.
"No, That's," he began.
