"So I guess we seal the deal now?" she smiled and shook hands with her client. A one billion project building a new building for the client's daughter for her to commence her new cosmetic world. Destiny couldn't be more excited than this. She made a huge conference with her staffs in the company, with the engineers, architects and her bosses. Since it was someone her boss closely knew, they wanted to take good care of everything.
Destiny had wonderful growth in her career. Her days were hectic and she enjoyed the weekends. Yuri switched her job and currently worked in the fashion field. The pay got higher than before and she was happy. They lived together in Destiny's big place. And for June, she was still learning to be a wife after quitting work. Mohamed got engaged over in the year and he was handling the company exceptionally well. They rarely met though they worked in the same place. And when they did, they would go out for a quick lunch or dinner to catch up with things
It's been a year since she received the call from Brittney on her wedding day, asking her for Lay, to send him back. Nobody expected Lay to do this kind of thing. Nobody expected him to leave his bride at the altar.
Destiny only knew that he fled home but she never heard a word from him, never saw him update his Instagram again, changed his number and she totally lost connection with him. To her, now he became a beautiful mistake she committed, he became a beautiful yet a bitter memory she always thought off. She always badly wished to ask him why he ran away from his own wedding, she wanted to hear the answer she secretly wished it to be. But she was never given a chance for that. She never cared to ask Mohamed too, and he never told her after the last time making her angry. But she wished he did.
Destiny resolved everything with her family and take ten days off and visit them every six months. Destiny planned to bring them with her since she had all the facilities. Her father was happy and living with her brother calling her every day spending a little with her. She found gratitude in the way her life was. Something she should have done a very long time ago. But it took one bad break up for her to realize everything, to cherish everything, live the happily her after her own way without a prince charming but owning her own castle. She was happy. She became a hero of her own. She now had experienced every segment of life and she survived through all of them. Destiny walked home getting out of the cab, it was her birthday. She knew clearly Yuri and June had plotted something for her on her 25th birthday. She was exhausted but she knew there was no escaping. So many plants were planted by the government on the roadsides since the world cup was nearing, to make it look like a heavenly place. She noticed the flowers were beginning to bloom.
And she reached her home. As she climbed the stair she noticed a bouquet of flowers. She took them in her hands. The note only read 'Happiest Birthday'. And she noticed the flowers. Pink and Red Carnations, Daffodils, Daisies, and Astilbe. Smiling wide she took her phone to search for the meaning. She guessed right from whom it has come from. This was enough for her. More than enough. She knew she had lived for something worth, and always will.
