Chapter 8 - 7

Revelation

"Can we leave?" Yuri asked.

"My goodness, what happened? Did you have something? Did you have shrimps or something?" There were red rashes on her hands.

"What's wrong?"

"She must have had the shrimps, she is allergic to it. I should leave. She will start turning red and swell."

"Wait. I will drop you off. It's dangerous and she is falling unconscious. Stay here."

"Its fine Lay, I will take her."

"No, it isn't. Stay here. I will be here in a minute." He ordered and went to take his car.

They got in the car and went straight home. At that right moment, June came running out towards the entrance only to see Destiny and Yuri leaving the party and that man's car. And none noticed her.

"Just breathe and relax Yuri," Destiny kept telling her as Yuri fell unconscious. "She must be beginning to swell inside, she will have breathing trouble, she should take her medicine soon," she informed Lay.

In half an hour they reached their villa and Lay offered to carry Yuri upstairs. They put her to bed and gave her the medicine instantly.

"Will she be okay? Should we take her to the hospital?" he asked

"She will be fine tomorrow morning, why did she even have them when she knows she is allergic,"

"She must have mistaken them." He said.

"Sit," she asked him to sit down on the couch. "Our place is small, I hope you won't mind."

"This is really good for two to live lavishly, isn't it?

"It is." She said as she gave him water, cookies, muffins, and coffee.

"I'm really hungry, I guess this won't do. Shall we order? Aren't you hungry, we didn't have dinner," he asked her and she agreed.

"I will do, what do you wish to have?"

"Pizza?"

"Papa John's?

"Super Papa for me, what about you?"

"God I love the same, I will order for large then." She said smiling and placed the order along with potato wedges, green apple sprite, and cheese sticks.

It took an hour for Talabat to deliver them from Wakrah.

"It's offer day, that's why it took time sir, I apologize," the delivery guy apologized as Lay opened the door and left.

She set the table and called him to the kitchen.

"Looking so mouthwatering," he said looking at her. And there was an awkward silence. "I meant the pizza, jeez girl, oh no," he laughed. And she felt relieved. For a moment she did think he meant her. 'Damn you fool' she cursed herself. They sat down and began digging on the food. In between the delivery time, she went in and changed into comfy trousers and an oversized t-shirt with a panda print. Her hair tied up high and makeup removed.

'She is cute and least bit not bothered about impressing people at all,' he thought noticing everything in her. He smiled to himself as he took another bite.

"We always place orders when its offer day in any pizza place," she told him.

"We should have met early," he said after sometimes. He regretted it badly now. He regretted everything that happened the last time when he was here.

"Tell me about,"

"We are so cool pal, we even like similar pizzas. We have fun in each other's company and no crossing the borders, no awkward moments. We should have become best friends early."

"It been hardly two days since we met, we don't even know about each other, and I like any pizza"

He chuckled. "Ok, so you wish to know more in order to stay friends. Fine. So listen my work, I already told you I believe. We are into hotel chain business back at home and here I have invested in the oil company. My family, mom, dad, two sisters. An elder, married and has a child. And one younger, in college now. When two team up together, am dead."

Destiny laughed. "You are the only son but a middle child too."

"Yes, I, we can relate to a lot I guess."

"Absolutely."

"I have quite a lot of friends but my closest is Mohamed. As I said we met in college.

"Hey, it's fine, I was kidding," she said feeling awkward. 'What is he trying to do? This is so not normal.' She thought seriously as he kept going.

"But am not, I just want you to know everything about me, I had one girlfriend in school, and three girlfriends in college. And a best friend. It was just a very light and flirty relationship, then I knew the actual person I really love is the girl I force and call my best friend. Well from the beginning I realized I was seeing her the way I shouldn't have. Then after a year, it worked out and we got engaged."

"What?" Destiny was shocked. She was too shocked to hear that. She didn't know what was happening. She there in her stomach she felt a huge hammer struck, heavily. "Seriously?" she asked again. "Engaged you are?" strangely she would be losing the ground beneath her legs.

"We came here for the celebration, we had tons of fun, and it was my first time after my investment here. We went back and a few months later, she broke up with me, she said she couldn't see me that way at all, as time went," he continued his story.

"No kidding right? It's called off too?"

"No am not, am dead serious. So listen, our families knew each other, they tried interfering and still didn't work, then I gave up, I went mad, I became a workaholic and then came here for few days break. And then something else happened."

"What happened?" she felt a bit tensed, she was hearing all the unexpected things.

"There was a girl I met in the flight. She said she resided here, she was coming back from her trip to London, we spend time talking to each other rather like, well for the two weeks I was here, we goofed around and did all sorts of things. I took this chance to move on. I have but I really used many ways to. I know this is bad but I did."

Destiny kept waiting for the story in detail. "And that's me. Nothing else," but he ended it.

'Goofed around, like the real goofing around, or just hanged out, ate and stuff. Which? What? Oh my god! Why did you have to tell me this?' Destiny was stunned and stopped eating with full of questions in her mind she wanted to ask but couldn't. She got hiccups and didn't stop. He helped her get water and helped her drink. "That was dangerously being honest, Lay oh my god! I can't believe it."

"Now you know everything don't you?" he said taking another piece of slice and eating them. "I never tried this potato wedges before and its good. And that drink, what is it? green apple, I didn't even know there was such a flavor." He kept talking very casually while she remained too occupied with the thoughts about everything he had said. She chuckled again.

'It's too fast, jeez what is happening, I wish I didn't know at all,' she said to herself, sipping her drink.

"Are you okay?" he asked her. He began to understand what was going on. "I didn't say everything to shock you at all. I wanted you to know am taking our friendship of two days pretty serious from the beginning."

"Two days" that's all she said. He sat there smiling clearly understanding her emotions.

"I know you are seriously having second thoughts about me, but at least am being honest. There is absolutely nothing to think about I would say if you ask me."

"Yes I am, how would I not, you tell me. I mean that's too much to take in 30 seconds."

"It is fine with me, take your time, and you should go to bed, it's past 10 already, time ran too fast didn't it?" he said and got up. "Will she be ok?"

"She will be."

"Fine then," he said staring at her for a couple of seconds and he slowly walked out. Destiny's phone was ringing. She ignored as she said bye and closed the door behind. It was her boss and he kept ringing until she picked up.

"Dan told me you went to a party and was with someone,"

"Yes sir, I was Yuri," she told him clearly irritated and expressing it through her voice.

"No he saw you with a guy, he said he gave your number to that guy, why?

"Excuse me?"

"You thought I wouldn't know right,"

"I don't care if you do sir, goodnight."

"Who was it, don't hang up on me, you will face consequences," she understood he was drunk and decided to speak back but definitely he won't remember.

"I will be happy on the actions. Why don't you just shut up and get wasted somewhere else instead of calling here man seriously? Get a life pervert." And she hung up. Her boss, divorced and is now living alone, has developed the serious illness of hitting on every female gender he sees and even the employees have become his prey. She hated it, everybody did. A good for nothing company that has fraud bank transactions, that doesn't pay their employees on time but keep them stressed and tight. And everyone here stays for the sake of the contract they have signed and the freshers for the experience with no work attachment.

"Destiny," Yuri called.

"I'm here, here." Destiny ran to her room.

"Did Lay just leave?"

"Yes, he left after dinner,"

"Wow, and who was that on call?" she asked sickly.

"Benny,"

"Was he the one you just shouted at?"

"Yes, he called to ask about Lay, Dan told him, and so I hung up,"

"Good never tell him," Yuri advised and held on Destiny. Destiny turned off her lights and they both slept. Destiny had already kept a croissant, leftover cheese sticks and water in the nightstand. She knows well that Yuri's gonna wake up moment and search for food. It is a usual habit after every allergy situation.

But Destiny didn't sleep. She kept playing the whole evening scene in her head. She felt hurt on how June had walked past her without even looking at her. Then came Mr. Lay with an unbelievable yet true story about him. She missed June one side, on the other side, Lay stood a step way tempting her. As she took her phone, put on the headphones and played music, she received a text from both. Her skipped a beat out of excitement for both. She shot up and opened the messages.
