Dating, not dating
She was beginning to feel if he was seriously flirting with her. 'But he was nice all this time, are men usually like this. Okay, right now he did remind of a bastard I know. What should I do? Dear lord' she battled inside in her head.
"Hey Destiny, see am not playing, what I meant is, it's fun so I thought maybe we could get together someday or next time I come here. I come here often but my best friend is busy half the time and there is a lot for me to see, would you believe I have been in Doha around three times and this is my first time exploring this place in this detail? I only knew there is a souq here." he confessed everything. "But it's necessary for me to come here, so I was just saying, don't feel pressured, it's alright whatever you say and decide."
'He does sound genuine, oh my god he sounds and looks adorable too watching him convincing me. Well then, am fudging bored too, I will consider this a blind date, or a first date may be,' she decided.
"Okay," she agreed. And he relaxed. "Remember my knife I carry though."
"I will, always, don't worry," he assured her and they ran into Nova Cinemas.
"I will pay," she said and took the tickets and entered the screen. To their surprise, it was full. They took their seats luckily in the middle row and relaxed.
"Good we ran little bit isn't it?" and she nodded.
They played lots of upcoming movies' trailers. Alita, Robinhood, Aqua man which was currently running, Isn't Romantic?, How to Train Your Dragon 3, BTS burn the stage and loads.
"You like all those genres?" he asked her watching her excitement watching each of them with different emotions.
"Of course yes,"
"Even the animated?"
"That's everything. That's the most favorite genre of mine," she said watching the trailer while he kept watching her, amazed.
The movie began and ended and they had no idea the time had run fast. Commenting and cracking jokes in between the show, they had a good time and comfortable with each without even being aware of it.
"Hailee is simply awesome isn't she?" he opinioned.
"Of course yes, movies and music, she is marvelous in both,"
"A day well spent," he said
"Can't say," she shrugged thinking about her whole day and how crap it was and how she ended up spending time with a stranger.
"Don't tell me you didn't have a good time at all, because I did,"
"Oh no. no. it was fun yes. But not the whole day."
"What happened really?" he asked sincerely wishing to know what she was crying about.
"Do you really wish to know? Because it's a big story!" she warned him.
"Am all ears, you can tell me all about it. In the meanwhile why don't we grab a snack? We didn't get anything for the movie."
"Okay," she said thinking for a minute.
"What do wish you to have?"
"Drive to Al-Nassr street, near Mirqab Mall, it's like the food street. We will decide then," she gave him idea and directions. And he took off the car and drove slowly while Destiny said everything that happened the whole day.
"Please don't judge. I know I did overreact but it was too much to listen to at that time of frustration."
"I get it, but the throwing drinks part was," he paused. "It's hilarious. They will be scared of you next time trust. They must have learned a lesson surely.
"I am not sure, I saw them literally eating June's head before I left."
"She will be fine, the June girl of course. Let her just take her own time. But the party was thoroughly ruined though!" he told her.
"I know right, god am so embarrassed right now," she said covering her face, giving a serious thought. It did seem silly to her now.
They reached the place and parked in front of where she asked him to.
He saw the ice cream shop and he knew it. They stood and then walked. She walked left. He walked right. They both walked the different direction. He went forward a bit and turned back and she wasn't with him. He ran back to her and matched her pace. She didn't seem to have noticed at all. He was mistaken. 'So she is not the ice cream person,' he thought and looked at the shop they entered.
"Shawarma?" he asked.
"Yes the best in the country trust me," she said confidently.
"Really?"
"Yes," She said. "Hey, can we get two shawarma with extra garlic paste in both. Spicy and, Large or small?" she asked him
"Small of course."
"One large and one small," she made the orders. "What?" she asked looking his expression. "I always get hungry after 2 at night," she cleared him
"I get it, you get hungry late at night. Noted. And you prefer shawarma large!"
"Yes," she laughed out loud while waiting for their orders outside the food court.
The Filipino lady delivered their food near their car.
"You are right it's the best I have tasted," he agreed in the end.
"How is that you drive, you will be fined real good when you get caught," she said as she took the bites looking at his SUV, Lexus. The extra garlic mayo was melting and oozing out as she took each bite along with the chicken. The whole atmosphere in the surroundings smelled this super good shawarma from the restaurant more than the other places though it was past midnight it was super crowded since people come after movies for supper.
"I told you right, I come here as a part of business too. So I have the ID and License all those necessary stuff. And whenever I come here, I stay in Sheraton but.
"Sheraton is my client,"
"Really?"
"Yeah,"
"Wow," he said finishing his small. "Get in the car, I will drop you off. I won't let go at all if you don't ask me to, but I shouldn't do that, where do live?"
"Ezdan 21 in Wukair, but that's I will go by myself, take a cab," she said
"No, that's not right, I will drop you off,"
"Hey c' mon it's alright, just get in the car," he ordered rather than requesting this time and she got in.
He with the help of the GPS drove straight to her place and she felt thankful having not asked her about the way since she is still doubtful about the way home. They were silent for most of the journey.
She was in total disbelief of how the day had turned into taking an unexpected turn. Lay, he reminds me of the group EXO, and she laughed at the very thought. .
"What is it?" he asked seeing her laughing.
"Oh, nothing, nothing! Just random thought about the day,"
"You met an incredible person didn't you?"
"As long as it's not the dream," she said and took a deep breath.
They entered the villa compound and parked near the gate. She got out and he handed her the carry bag.
"Oh yes, so Lay, thank so much for dropping me and everything else. I had fun," she thanked.
"We did, didn't we? I had fun too. And am really sorry that I scared the hell out of you, it would have been had since you had trouble with the phobia,"
"It's fine, it is alight, I shouldn't have been standing there too,"
"Don't ever okay, so just take care. Anyway, we met though because of that,"
Destiny laughed a little, "Yeah," and kept walking. "It's alright you don't have to walk me home,"
"That's fine," and then she slowed down, "This is your villa? He asked her
"Yes, my friend and I, we share one portion inside, 2bhk. We work together too."
"Oh okay, so you have a company then," and she nodded to his words.
"Goodnight Lay," she said, very aware to not invite him in late at this hour, or early morning.
"Goodnight Destiny," he said back and stood there for a few seconds, and then he walked back and left.
Smiling, she closed the gate and silently walking upstairs, trying her best to not make noise with her heels. She sneaked and reached the second floor and searched the key in her bag. And she had the next shock on the same night. A strange dark figure in front of her door. Afraid, Destiny screamed her lungs out.
