Chapter 4 - The True Vampire Bride Ch 1 Part 2

Botan Date: "I cannot believe it, I just cannot, even though she was right in front of me. Did you feel it? It is a feeling that is almost overpowering. Is it overpowering to you guys as well?"

He turns to the other Vampire lords, who are looking at him with just as much astonishment. Their excitement seemed to build even more just discussing whatever it was they were talking about. The air around me began to feel colder than it should for some reason. I even got a strange feeling every time I heard my name. I was still slumped on the deck of the walkway, trying my best to ignore them, but it was all in vain. I was completely baffled as to what I was hearing. All I could do was finish listening to them talk amongst themselves. Though I was hearing, I was still just as confused by their words, I just hoped it was nothing bad; though that may have been asking too much, I fear. Their conversation seemed to be a circle of the same shock and surprise I had been hearing, though I did not know what to make of it.

Dai Haku: "I cannot believe it myself, I never thought we would ever find the bloodline. I was certain it would remain an unsolved puzzle."

Haruko Ikeda: "What do you think we should do from here on out? I never thought we would find it either."

Kano Nishio: "I do not know; it is just so remarkable. Dare I say, we are saved. We will be able to fix this problem that has plagued us all for so long."

Botan Date: "I never thought we would find her, all that remains now is to awaken her fully. Everything depends on it. Maybe the pure bloods that have lost their way can possibly be saved from themselves."

Dai Haku: "Yes, but how do we decide who awakens her? As you know we are all selfish beings."

Haruko Ikeda and Kano Nishio: (Both speaking simultaneously on the issue…) "That's an incredibly good point. No arguments on that train of thought."

Botan Date: "I suppose the best way would be for her to decide, after all, we cannot kill her, she is the queen. No matter who awakens her, she will then be able to kill any one of us in just a short time. Keep that in mind before you all start fighting over her like children. We are hundreds of years old after all."

The other three then fell silent as they could not refute anything that was just said. They simply nodded at one another in unison. They each got up and ordered all their garrisons to stand at attention as they announced what future events were to take place. As the troops were all less than pure blood, they could not refute what the pure bloods had sensed in the village girl. All they could do was widen their eyes and ask if they were certain. They had always heard the stories, hundreds of years' worth, been told legends of the past, but did not know how to act. It was all so shocking, even to the troops that followed. With four pure blood masters all stating the same fact, the discontent that was trying to rise once again had been quelled almost immediately. All that remained was to find out how things would go at the first meeting with the chief and the girl who was destined to be their one and only queen.

The next day, as agreed upon in the morning, the four Vampire Lords and the village chief gathered near the gate. A meeting circle had been set up rather quickly as everyone took a seat on the logs. I, of course was present as the person who initiated contact with them. I had no choice but to be there during this meeting. They all seem to decide that they were going to start off by talking about the crisis that has haunted the lands for hundreds, dare I say possibly thousands of years. No one knows just how long it has been anymore. Every time records get created; they are destroyed almost as fast. So, all time frame has been lost as to how long the vampires have been around. And for now, what needed to be done to fix it was another matter. Though there will surely be some that do not fully agree on methods. But such is the way of things. The most important things can never be fixed easily, it has always been foolish to think it can be, no matter what the issue. An uneasy feel clung heavily to the air as certain topics were hit upon during the discussions that ensued. It was indeed a long and drawn out morning to say the least. Though the misconception about their time in the sunlight seems to have been misled in all the stories. I merely sat in stunned silence.

Village chief: (A look of worry and wonder appeared on his face as he looked at the man that was clearly the leader…) "I am not even sure how you managed to find our village. I was certain it had been thoroughly hidden from absolutely everyone."

Botan Date: (Shrugging his shoulders as he raised his hands to the side as if to indicate a sign that it was all accidental…) "It was by complete accident I assure you. We have spent weeks tracking down the lessor vampires that have been attacking anything that moves. They have been an increasing problem for us to say the least. Our scouts last spotted them heading this way, so this was the way we came."

Village chief: (With half folded arms, he raised his hand and cupped his chin as he appeared to be deep in thought…) "I see, it appears to be a larger problem than we feared. We have not had visitors to our mountain in hundreds of years. You sirs are the first. We have taken great pains to keep ourselves secluded."

I sat and watched for a while as the back and forth between the village chief and the vampire lords went on for some time. They discussed various counter measures against further attacks and how to capture or kill the feral lessors. I was taken aback at the civility that was being shown by the vampires. Despite the stories we had all grown up with, they were trying hard to be civil, I was genuinely surprised and rather impressed by it all. I was brought out of my deep thoughts when my name was mentioned yet again during one of their conversations. I immediately tried to focus on the conversation at hand once again. I could not understand why I was clearly the subject of interest once again. So, I hesitantly decided to open my mouth and ask about it. My friend Kaido at this point had been sitting by me the whole time listening as I was to this strange new event unfolding. The look of utter disappointment on his face, though I did not know what it meant at that point in time.

Kaida Endo: (Voicing my opinion I shook with such anger as I pointed to myself…) "Why am I the repeated topic of discussion? Have I done something I am not aware of that has caused an issue? I was not trying to offend anyone."
